We choose here to stay for its location, since we were to walk the 5 day Abel Tasman Track. We arranged with Rose the owner to leave our hire car with her whilst we were away, then stay again on our return. On arrival with received a very friendly welcome, given some valuable hints and tips in the area. Rose even rang up a local restaurant and made a booking for us. The detached cabin we had was superb. Just the right size for the two of us, the bedroom and kitchenette were combined giving plenty of room to move about. Good bathroom with a powerful shower. All was very clean and comfortable. A superb stay. Maybe a net curtain as an option to have across the patio door.
Nothing. Everything was excellent

Staying at these delightful cabins was a last minute decision for us but luckily there had been a cancellation that day as this turned out to be the highlight of our NZ holiday. A big thank you to the friendly and knowledgeable host (and her gorgeous pets) who really helped us make the most of our time at Marahau. (We caught an aqua taxi into the Abel Tasman from just beside the chalets and and walked back from Anchorage but there are loads of hiking options available so great to have some expert advice). We loved the brilliant night sky views of the Milky Way - stars were super-bright. High quality insect screens on all windows meant we could leave them all open all night for fresh breezes without worrying about sandfly bites. So relaxing. It was sad to leave.

Due to the (previous day's windy) weather the ferry from the North Island was delayed by around 4 hours leaving Wellington and arriving in Picton and in addition we were detoured due to a traffic incident enroute and arrived therefore late - after 8pm. Good and forthcoming communication of the circumstances with the landlady, Rose, on alternative ways to pick up the keys to our two chalets upon arrival. Rose ended up welcoming us in person after all. In addition to two charming four legged companions including the 18 year old cat. The two chalets (split between parents and son and daughter) were modern, well presented and provided what we needed. Nice sitting space on the front porch. Parking next to the chalet. Close to the starting point of the path into Abel Tasman NP. Rose was very helpful trying to organize water taxi however the weather next morning was too bad for the water taxi provider to offer any scenic tours. Still, we much appreciated her advise on places to eat and hikes to do in the morning given the weather forecast warning of more rain to come in the afternoon.
The weather and (ferry & traffic incident) delay we could not do much about, but ideally we should have had more time when it was sunny (as it was on the arrival day) to explore the Abel Tasman NP - including a scenic water taxi boat ride. Thank you anyway for making our short visit as memorable as possible. And yes, quite wet we even got to see the split apple in the afternoon after a hike in the NP in the morning.

Lovely peaceful location, right next door to the aqua taxi pickup point. Ten minutes walk to the gateway to Abel Tasman National Park. Places to eat out also within ten minutes walk. Very clean and well equipped. Rose very helpful with aqua taxi bookings and local advice. Possible to do laundry here too. It was perfect for us.
WiFi was slow at times, but Rose did her best!

Rose was very communicative, friendly and welcoming (along with her adorable yellow lab). We had a whole, comfy cabin to ourselves with everything we needed and more. And it was literally right next door to Able water taxi which Rose recommended and which was perfect for our day hike. It also was a short walk along the water to a delicious dinner at Hooked cafe, where Rose made us a reservation.

Rose was very helpful and assisted with organising and planning our time in Abel Tasman, including excellent recommendations for dinner, and booked us a great table. Location is right beside the river taxi. Separately, if arriving from the airport, make sure you book your shuttle service in advance! The cabin was very clean, and we were made to feel like home / part of the family

Cleanliness and privacy.
Would be much better inside the accommodation if there’s an airconditioning system especially during cold days. Faster way to heat up the room and could also help extract the excess moisture when you cook dinner. It was explained to us by the owner why there’s none at the moment, so it’s fine.

Nice clean unit with parking and very helpful owner (Rose). Located right next to Abel Tasman water taxi (needed to prebook) and R & R kayaks both of which we used within the National park. Rose would do washing for you if required for small fee. Small kitchenette with hob worked well. Very happy with everything.

Rose the owner was very helpful. She booked water taxi tickets for us and gave us good advice about what to see and do in the area. Convenient location close to restaurants, shop etc in Marahau, sea front and start of Abel Tasman track. Beautiful view from our chalet and nice outdoor seating area. We were able to get our washing done.
The bathroom was a bit small, but had everything needed.

Very spacious room, which I personally value the most when travelling with friends. Room was clean, fresh and kind of new. Small tv. Nice bathroom. Very nice verandah with table and chairs. We got view to the forest clearing, and there were pukekos (kind of native bird there, very common) in the morning. In walking distance to the cafeteria, restaurants. I regret not staying longer because it was so close to the National Park. Good place to stay and explore more if you have enough time.
There was problem with payment, none card was working, and the payment could not go via booking for some reason, but finally it was succesful. First time in my life happened something like that, bit of stresfull. And I could not pay cash, despite my offer to do that.
