The best welcome and tour of facilities I have ever had, hands down. I felt very welcome. The chalet was very roomy and comfortable, large bathroom with separate toilet, the shower was so good! Everything I think I would need was provided for in this room and I loved the layout. The room entrance was at the opposite end, away from the carpark - I'm a private person, so really appreciated that. The Glow Worm Grotto was a nice little added feature, and love the little touches to make it a special area. It's only a minute away before driving into the main street of Takaka, so close to shops but far enough to have some peace & quiet.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Rocks, there was nothing to fault. The staff were so helpful at check in explaining how everything works and all of the facilities, and again very helpful with any questions. The whole property is amazing and is very well looked after. Our room was huge and super clean, with a very comfy bed and high-pressure shower. The room lacks nothing. The property is an easy walk into town and is very quiet due to being set back from the road. We cannot wait to stay here again next year; this will be our go to property in Takaka when we visit from now on.

Very friendly host. Spacious and comfortable room. Each chalet has its own patio and garden table. We did not have problems with mosquitoes, but should there be any, multiple insect repellant devices are provided. Extensive kitchen equipment. Whatever is not provided in the chalet itself is provided in the common kitchen, e.g., oil, soy sauce, bigger pans, pizza oven. Washing machine and drier available in the common area. Good shower.

Double bed: matras is not that good, but I must admit I am quite sensitive.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at The Rocks Chalets. The chalet was spacious, comfortable, and had a lovely outdoor area to relax in. The location is good—quiet yet conveniently close to some great walks. One of the highlights of our stay was seeing a stunning starling murmuration, an unexpected and mesmerising treat. Another memorable moment was visiting the little cave on-site at night. The entrance is lit with charming fairy lights, and inside we some glowworms!

Bed was soft and sunk in the middle.

The location was to die for! Surrounded by lush bush, flora and fauna, glow worms and quirky garden figures made the place even more special. It was also close to the Town centre. We walked into town! The extra attention to detail in the rooms were noticed like Netflix (usually I have to use my own account at other places), the shampoo/conditioner dispensers, the lovely body moisturiser, the lights next to the bed, a good supply of milk, a well laid out kitchen with everything you need and the space. This was definitely a great experience and I would love to come back again. Such great service and the owners were so helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I sure picked the best accommodation!🛌🇳🇿☺️

Absolutely nothing!

The room was spacious. The host has prepared another bed (sofabed), which I appreciated. Internet was good for my zoom call. What I liked about the most was the immaculate room and bathroom. You could use a lawn for ball playing. My son loved Monopoly board games. We played on the floor of the room. Very spacious room. You feel like you are on vacation.

We could not see the glowworm at 10 pm and 5am. What a bummer. The facilities are not soundproof well.

Of the dozen plus properties we've stayed in in New Zealand over the last month, our 3 nights in Chalet Kereru at The Rocks was the best. It is outstanding. The tranquility of the garden and sitting out area, complete with the very much recommended outdoor bath was sublime. Watching birds flit in the trees , a passing hedgehog wandering through. Inside, the room was spacious and the organisation of all the amenities in an economical way quite impressive. We lacked for nothing and if we did the owners found it for us - pegs and a rotary washing line for example when the airer was full. Nothing is too much trouble and the advice for trips is excellent too - even down to Molly B's for lunch. The Rocks is a walk away from the town but feels a world away and had everything needed for self catering including a barbecue.

Leaving - even when we'd added an extra night!

Friendly host, useful travel tips Situated away from the the town, just a few minutes drive. So many beautiful spots to be explored from Takaka, the spring, the falls, beaches, salmon farm for the lunch, many walks, we should stay longer. Beautiful unit with outdoor seating and beautiful sunset view and beautiful night sky, surrounded by birds songs. Well equipped apartment with everything we need. Laundry facilities are available at communal area. Interesting glow worm cave to be explored at night.

The Chalet are so gorgeous, we stayed there the night before doing the Abel Tasman walk, and then came back after 3 days in the park, we asked for the sofa bed to be made as we were 2 friends traveling together and after all that walk we were very tired and needed a good night rest. They made the sofa bed with lots of padding and it was so confortable I slept like a baby. I really liked staying there, very private and quiet, lots of space. We could park our car no problem. I will definitely come back as I want to do the heaphy track next year. It' s also perfect location to go to the farewell spit. And 10 minutes drive from the Chalet there are beautiful water source and we also found a walk up to see some grottas. The little village of Takaka is also very cute, lots of cool little shop and cafe. Highly recommend this area and this accomodation.

These chalets are uniquely set amongst natural rock formations and are very private . Interiors are like being in a well provisioned cosy but spacious cabin . Loved the outdoor bathtub ! Bathrooms spacious too . Communal pizza oven and washing machine facilities

There was nothing not to like just wish we could have stayed longer - definately not your generic hotel room !
