This Holiday Park is literally within walking distance from the beach and coastline. There are parks and walks across the road from the Holiday Park. The sea can be a challenge sometimes however there are usually life guards on duty. One needs to be aware of the rips that can occur. But, the sunsets are gorgeous and the night sky spectacular. Our cabin was comfortable for our needs with a kitchenette, seperate toilet and unexpectedly 2 bedrooms. good to have some privacy when travelling with friends. The Host was very welcoming and the Park was quiet through the night, clean and well maintained. Another great cafe across the road, (The Citadel). Recommended. Whanganui is a great little city to visit travelling up the West Coast of the North Island.

The McAllister team is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. This was our third annual stay here. The location and facilities are excellent aside from a couple of maintenance issues we found this time.

The kitchen and bathroom taps both need repair or replacement as both were difficult to use, and turning on and off was challenging, especially the kitchen tap. With the shower head, the only option was full force water flow, not ideal for young children. There was no can opener in the unit, so we borrowed one from next door campers.

Location was excellent next to shops, a cafe, a library, a pool, a park and the beach. Staff (we talked to reception and cleaning staff) were friendly and helpful. We loved it so much we extended our stay by a day Great shower, it was awesome. Liked how you could go out the bathroom to put out swimwear out. Kitchen was very well equipped and clean. Pool was super clean. Loved having air con in the room. Great to have a place that was pretty accessible for disabled people (non wheelchair users), this can often be a problem for our family.

Bunk in end room (of the 3 bedroom house) seemed a little wobblier than it should be. One bowl in the cupboard had a crack through it, which could have broken apart, we gave it to reception.

Amazing accommodation, ive stayed twice now, it's VERY family friendly, very pet friendly for campers, tents with pets, Their may not be a park on site, but it's got an amazing one next door! The swimming pool is awesome, small but big enough for everyone to have a blast, The office staff is honestly amazing! Friendly, and happy to help, and did help when I needed something!! Our room was clean n tidy, and up to our standards, We will be staying again when we come to whanganui again

The location, close to everything, basketball court and park just at the back by the beach. Clean, great linen, comfortable beds, great water pressure in shower. Gas oven. Carport for car. Great size. All amenities needed were there.

We went for a Basketball Tournament and wanted the sauna and cold pool for recovery! But couldn’t use the sauna. One of the reasons we choose this place. We were told that a resident had taken the key and there was no way to use it, what an excuse, easily could have climbed over and unlocked it. Was very disappointed in this.

I liked the room, very spacious, bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and tidy. I liked that there was a TV with an app set up for watching movies/shows. The fan was a nice addition as well. Nice view of the property and loved how close it was to the beach, park and dairy. Didn't get time to use the sauna or pool due to personal business coming up but looking forward to coming back and giving them a try

I didn't like that some of the bathroom stalls were locked during our stay without a sign to explain why. They were also a little dirty, E.G small smear on feces around the seat of toilet and marks on the floor, though it didn't bother me too much, I would have to give it a clean before using it. I did not take photos due to it being a minor inconvenience to me

A good location to stay whilst visiting family in Castlecliff. The unit is fully self contained. The main bedroom has a double bed, and the bunk room has a big bottom bunk. The kitchen has a full size fridge. The campground facilities are great, including the laundry.

The unit is quite small (with small bedrooms) so the suitcases take up a lot of the spare space and it is a tight fit with 4 adults.

The location of the holiday park, good area with the playground & beach a walk away. The cabin we booked was close to the bathroom, kitchen & saltwater pool 🩵 (a favorite of ours) easy for supervision when you have little ones. The atmosphere was welcoming & friendly. Very clean & well run you can tell they take very good care of the place. The hospitality was fabulous 10/10.

Very clean. Pillow protectors and a mattress protector which was great. Camp site was immaculate. Good facilities. Although a salad bowl in the unit or camp kitchen would have been great.

Suburb outside the camp had a lot of suspicious activity and loud cars at night. Wouldn't have left the camp after dark. We arranged for early check in but office was unattended, we phoned and were told that they didnt get that message ( even though we had a reply saying they could do that for us, person on phone was a bit cranky). We also got charged more than we agreed to through booking.com and the camp said it was booking.com's fault and vice versa. We also couldn't close one of the windows in our cabin as there was no latch, we reported it to the office when we checked out.

What a lovely place to stay! Greeted by a warm, friendly and helpful man at reception (sorry i forgot his name). Cute and clean cabin ... a lovely little space. Loved that there was a fridge and microwave in the cabin, but the communal kitchen and other areas are great too. Everything is well maintained - clean and tidy. So close to the beach and the venue where our event was held, and right across the road from a dairy/takeaway. I would love to come back and stay a few days in the summer 👍
