The breakfast was great! Enormous buffet with many choices, always fresh, staff extremely helpful and efficient. The room was very comfortable with 2 easy chairs facing the harbor view, and a writing desk. The hotel is within a short walking distance to the center.

No coffee/tea maker in the hotel room. Coffee and tea could be had in the lobby for a price. The lobby bar only offered drinks, not even peanuts! Some snacks would have been great, and tapas would have been fantastic. The restaurant was too pricey for us. Our initial room faced a wall, we asked for anothe room and got one with a great view. The receptionist was always very helpful throughout our stay. Parking is very pricey. Unfortunately, the beds were too soft and we were unable to open the window for fresh air.

Booked a ‘standard’ room and had a wow moment when we opened the door as there was a full wall picture window overlooking Ålesund and the harbour. The room itself was large and clean. Good choice of breakfast, you might want to eat a little later to ensure any coach parties have finished. There is a ‘pay for’ car park underneath the hotel. The hotel is directly in front of Mount Aksla viewpoint so a very short walk to take the 400 steps to the top!

No lift from underground car park to hotel, so you may wish to unload luggage outside reception first

The hotel is in a great location close to the waterfront (3 minutes walk). The room was a good size. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. I did not try the restaurant on the 9 floor with the views.

Everything was good with my stay with the exception that I was on a ground floor room next to a lift. Sadly the lift made banging noises when is use. Luckily this didn't happen at night or in the early morning so it didn't both me. But it might for other travellers.

The room was quite spacious, had a large soft bed, a minifridge. The bathroom featured a zoom mirror and a good shower, though it splashed on the bathroom floor because of a gap under the door. Good breakfast (served from 6.30 am).

Rude and unfriendly reception staff (no "hi", no "would you mind waiting a couple of minutes", just pretending you do not exist and then just leaving for another counter and calling another guest from there). Hairdryer with a button that you have to hold pressed when drying the hair makes my hand hurt. No kettle, no AC, no sockets near the bed.

This was an amazing stay! We didn't have much time in the city so we needed a hotel close to the city center to be able to walk around and explore in the few hours that we had. At the same time we needed something close enough to the port and bus station where we needed to get the boat for the tour one day and catch the bus back to Oslo the next, all walking distance! Also, if you can, spend a little more for the higher level rooms, views are worth it!

There wasn't a thing we didn't like about our stay at this Scandic Parken. Everyone in the hotel was kind and made our experience there a great one!

Choice at breakfast - there was interesting apple porridge and salmon latkes. Nice lounge area on ground floor which I used as a quiet space to read. It’s a really good location for going up Askla. Plenty of parking on the streets nearby.

It was a bit weird that there was no kettle in our room on arrival. I had to ask for one and was told there were none available - even though I had seen some in a room for cleaning equipment. The next day, our mugs were removed from the room so we had to ask for then again! We found this odd as there were tea and coffee making facilities in the other Skandics we used. No gym or sauna area open during our stay. Also breakfast was very busy with tour groups.

The "Parken" hotel might look a big like a klutz from the outside - but inside, it's very modern, airy, spacious and comfortable. The room had a wonderful view of the ocean - how much more can you ask for? The location is superb - centrally located as can be, anything within max. 10 minute walk. There's a parking garage under the hotel (with direct access to the lobby - very convenient with heavy suitcases!). Breakfast is plentiful, varied and very tasty - as always in Scandinavia. The staff was both professional and very friendly and approachable at the same time. All in all : this is really hard to top !

The room was big for a standard hotel room and, bonus, it had windows that opened so we could sit in front of the open window and enjoy the views we had of Ålesund (our room faced the harbour£. We arrived really early and went to the hotel to see if we could store our bags there until check in time and the staff let us check in at 10:30am (the room wasn’t in use). That was unexpected and appreciated!

I think we were there out of season because the restaurant was never open. The only social/common areas of the hotel that didn’t seem deserted was the lobby and the breakfast area.

I was pleasantly surprised by the room, it clearly has been renovated a short time ago and was nicely designed and a good size. Additionally I had a great view of the water! Location could not have been better as you got access to the famous hike literally behind the hotel and had the best views of Ålesund. Breakfast had a great selection and parking was right underneath the hotel with direct access to the rooms, at additional cost.

Shampoo and soap were empty and didn't get a refill the second day.

The room was great - with scenic view from the six floor. The room was clean and had all typical arrangement and equipment. The breakfast has very wide range of choise in food. Location was good too-everything in reach of a hand.

The disappointing part was parking. They are expencive and difficult to find free spot not far from hotel.
