We stayed one night. The car park is free, check in was quick and the staff was very friendly and nice. The room we got was overlooking the fjord. It was nice size and the bed was very comfortable. We also had a little balcony. The shower had good pressure and hot water quickly. They have a restaurant on site serving food all day, we had breakfast (included) and dinner (paid) and both were very good. There is some renovation going on to improve the place and it did not bother us at all. Would stay again any time, it was awesome!

Great location on the fjord in a valley among the mountains. Free parking, balcony with a wonderful view of the Hardangerfjord and the garden. Comfortable bed. Excellent and tasty breakfasts, thanks to the restaurant staff. Walking distance to the city center of Rosendal with restaurants, shopping center and main attractions

There was no air conditioning in the room, it was very hot and stuffy. There was no towel for feet after shower in the bathroom

Friendly, comfortable room, good breakfast. Tea and coffee always available at no cost. I had been staying as part of the festival package and booked two extra nights on booking.com transition was seamless and I stayed in the same room. It was my second time staying at the hotel. Will be back for the Rosendal chamber music festival next year

The only thing I can think is the evening menu was limited and, being Norway, was fairly expensive. This is probably to cut down on food waste when there aren’t many guests staying. Food was well prepared though and the service was fine

Every aspect of our stay at the Rosendal Fjordhotel was exceptional. Beate and the entire team were stars, in reserving a beautiful room for us which faced the Hardanger Fjord. The management shines in all aspects too. The restaurant is phenomenal, and the newly renovated rooms and suites are fantastic. Thank you so much for making our visit to Norway extra special. We will most certainly be back.

It’s a nice hotel, I booked rooms with the view over the water: magnificent view from the balcony. There is easy access to water if you want to swim. 10min work to Rosendal downtown where you have more options for dinner.

Rooms are a little tight. Only liquid soap in the bathroom: no conditioner, no body moisturizer, no coffee machine, no refrigerator. Preset dinner, no menue to choose from; our boys ended up eating snacks in a room.

We are staying at this hotel mainly for our dinner at Iris Restaurant (Salmon Eye), so the location is perfect, only 8 mins drive to the dock. Beautiful Fjord view from our rooms. The food at the restaurant is good, staff are friendly and accommodating. Perfect stay for a vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the main cities.

Limited amenities in the room and the hotel is showing signs of wear and tear due to its age, still lovely regardless, may need some upkeep though.

What really makes this hotel stand out is the beautiful location, and their renowned chef, which made a delicious tree course dinner. Breakfast is also wonderful. That the director of the hotel walked around to make sure all the dinner guests were comfortable made us feel very welcome.
