Excellent location. Lovely views from our 5th floor superior room across the harbour & sea. Welcoming staff. Comfy room. Easy walking distance to shops, cafes, museums & Tromso cathedral. Good & easily accessible bus routes to cable-car & Arctic Cathedral.

Rather basic breakfast & dinner. FIKA became somewhat repetitive. Arctic Cathedral disappointed & was outshone by the Tromso Cathedral. Aurora cruise dinner was poor, not to our palate, but seeing the "Northern Lights" made up for that.

It was a well located hotel along the waterfront - short walk to the meeting points for the various tours I joined and close to the city centre for shopping and restaurants. It was nice to have breakfast, fika, and dinner at the hotel - the chefs and staff working the dining room were constantly on the go refilling food and clearing tables for the constant stream of guests.

I appreciate I traveled during the peak season but the room rate seemed too high for the standard of accommodation especially staying for a week. My room (I did not go for the superior upgrade room facing waterfront) was comfortable but basic - not many toiletries, no kettle, no refrigerator, no in room safe, not much drawer storage, and I supported the environmental practice to not have my room cleaned during my stay. The bed was ok - seemed to be a mattress topper.

I liked the location of this hotel the most. I stayed here 11 years ago and came back to stay here again. I booked the superior double room and enjoyed the view from my room. Front office staff were lovely especially Kathleen and the others whose names I did not get. They had a smile on their faces all the time. I enjoyed the breakfast everyday. So many options. Dinner options were limited but adequate as it was stated as a light meal. Kitchen staff at the dining area were wonderful. They were helpful when we had questions about the food. All staff truly deserve a pat on their backs.

I felt that the bed was too small for two of us. A cupboard or a shelf in the room would have been useful to put our clothes in. We stayed for 4 nights and had to open and close our suitcases all the time.

The hotel is very centrally located along the Tromso harbour, the heart of the city. It is the best location to go explore, or be picked-up for tours or activities elsewhere. Another plus, it makes for a nice backdrop on northern lights pictures, as we had the chance to see them in front and above the hotel, right in the harbour ;-) The hotel facilities and rooms are very nice, the staff is super friendly and helpful. The included evening dinner was a bit "simple" with not much choice and limited opening hours. However, not a real issue to us, considering value for money paid for this extra when booking. It is not an issue to not take the option one of the evenings, and go dine in the city. It still saves a lot of money. About value for money in general, we were very happy with this hotel in the magical Arctic place, Tromso.

The dinner that is offered at an extra charge could be a bit more diverse, with more choices. However, for the money paid, it was ok.

The staff were lovely, so friendly and helpful. Our room was fabulous, 6th floor harbour view. The view was spectacular. The room was warm, very comfortable and very quiet. We slept really well. There is free tea/coffee/water available all day long, you just help yourself. In the afternoon cake is provided, which was lovely and plenty to go round all the guests. Breakfast buffet was good and plentiful. fresh fruit and yoghurt, bread, meat, cheese, eggs. We had evening meal included and on the first night we were on an excursion. The staff saved us a 'cold plate' from the dinner to have when we returned later that night. We also were to miss breakfast on the day we left as we had an early flight but the staff made up a lovely sandwich, fruit and a juice for us to take with us. It was ready fo us to collect from reception at 4am. great service, lovely people.

Nothing - it's perfect just as it is.

The food was perfect, we loved the idea of fika in the afternoon. The sauna was ideal after the cold day. What we appreciated the most was an excellent employee, Henri, he was so helpful, he answered every question that we asked and we could see that he was really invested in what he was doing. We wanted to thank him for everything he's done for us but unfortunately he wasn't working during our last day in the hotel. The hotel was clean, the stuff was friendly and the location of the hotel was the best. The bathroom was newly renovated which was comfortable

The building was quite old so for light sleepers it could be difficult to sleep. I couldn't fall asleep because of the crackling pipes and some kind of humming coming from the bathroom (probably the ventilator)

Hotel location is excellent and every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious enough and warm… the beds/bedding were very comfortable. Also very nice to have bath robes and slippers. Breakfast choice is good (nice to see a selection of alternative milks)… most of the evening dinners were great… the evening soups were very tasty… the afternoon cake was a lovely extra… and it was great being able to have tea/coffee any time of day or night. Thank you!

It would be nice to have a vegetarian main course every evening, alongside the meaty one - not just for those who pre-request it. Some meat eaters don’t like every type of meat (one evening, it was roast pork with no alternative… and not everyone eats pork - another evening, it was chicken and bacon pasta which again is a problem for non-pig-eaters) - a vegetarian option is always ‘safe’!

The location was perfect and the view from our room was fantastic. The meals, which were included, were adequate, but we had to go to the hotel across the road for this. The room was spotless clean and the hotel was nice and quiet.

There was nothing in the room to put your clothes into. We were there for 4 days, so we didn't have a great deal of luggage, but still, some drawers or a box cupboard would have been welcolm to put our cloth in to. All there was, was 4 hangers hanging on a rail just inside the door. There was a small vanity style desk with a chair but only one drawer on it. This definitely lets the hotel down.

I had a really great stay and Clarion Collection Hotel With. I was able to upgrade my room so I could have a view of the harbour, Artic Cathedral and beyond. The staff is very friendly, helpful and very willing to spend extra time with you to answer any questions you may have. The room and bed were excellent. The hotel is in the middle of upgrading their kitchen so all guests had their breakfast and dinner at Clarion Hotel Aurora across the road. This was no problem at all. The food was great - well cooked, varied and with great attention to detail. It's a great place to stay.
