Absolutely fabulous location. Close to public transport routes, shops, bars and restaurants, the marina, Polaria and main areas in Tromso. Staff were incredibly warm and accommodating. My husband got sick and I got extra pillows, cause he took all of mine. Reception desk seems always packed and busy, but it clears up swiftly. Very good breakfasts - LOVED the variety. The hotel uses Rituals body products, which I think is fantastic. No need for extra hair conditioner, they've got the good stuff. Good hairdryer also.
While our room had spectacular views, it could have been cleaned better. There was visible dust and hair on the floor my side of the bed and the windowsill. Last day I noticed stains on the curtains as well. Be careful when using the 'do not clean' tag, as the decision stays until you revert it at the front desk. The room was big, but the bathroom was tiny, just something to be prepared for. Can't wash your undies in the long but narrow sink, use the service the hotel offers. Absolutely no parking in the area, park underground in the tunnel. Reminder: Skybar is not open every night - check out opening days & hours if you plan on taking photos.

* Breakfast--outstanding! With so much variety, we tried something new every morning. We had an early morning departure and ordered the to-go breakfast--it was perfect! * Location--ideal! A quick walk to the meeting point for all of our tours, as well as restaurants, cafes, and shops was convenient. It was also easy to access the local transportation and taking the bus was so easy to navigate. * Staff--friendly, professional, and personable. * Room--clean, comfortable, and quiet with basic amenities and a minimalist Scandinavian vibe. Beds were comfortable and bedding was warm. A kettle for tea/coffee was available. We enjoyed the view from our quiet room. It was a wonderful stay!
The open shower/bathroom was efficient, albeit a little chilly when showering, and we didn't care for the wet floors, but they did dry quickly. The room was small, without much room for luggage, but we managed just fine. None of these quirks were problematic, and they didn’t detract from our overall experience.

The staff were great, both at check in and throughout our stay. The quality and range of breakfast was outstanding, and probably the best of any hotel that we have stayed at. The bathroom is in reality a wet-room with a decent shower. The hotel is centrally located, which was ideal for bus connections, excursions and for navigating around Tromso. Our room also has a nice view to the south, looking across the fjord.
For a Superior Room, I thought that the room was quite small. Wardrobe space was very limited. The shower worked well, but there was nowhere to place/hang anything in the shower enclosure. The TV was fiddly to use.

Location is perfect for the bus station, pier, and bars/restaurants. You're in the heart of the town, with everything a short walk away. The staff are very helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable. Hotel breakfast options are exceptional; the food quality is excellent, with lots of choice. Opening times are favorable for early risers and those taking it easy. The rooms are functional but reasonably spacious. There is a cool walk-in shower available with fresh towels and soaps, shampoos, etc. The bed is really comfortable, and we slept very well.
The hotel is pricey in high season; don't expect to stay here on the cheap. With few beer options and no entertainment, the bar is mediocre. There is a rooftop SkyBar with DJ that opens on weekend nights only. I wouldn't recommend it though, other than for the view (which is nice).

Loved the friendliness of the staff, the location was perfect and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was really good too!
No cash dealt with in the whole hotel or a lot of Norway in general, which was difficult for young travellers like me and my partner as we do not have credit cards, so get charged extra whenever we used our debit cards. Rooms were also small for what we paid for - we were aware we were paying for compact rooms, but for over £1000 for 2 of us for 4 nights we thought the rooms could have been a little bigger. The room we did get was fantastic with a beautiful view though.

Overall this is a lovely hotel in a good location, providing the facilities that you would expect. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful; the breakfast was generous, with a wide variety of options.
My only complaint is the size of the rooms; for the equivalent of £350 per night, we were put into a matchbox-sized room, where we could not even leave the suitcase open if we wanted to get round the room. Norway is an expensive country to visit, and I do understand this complaint applies to the hotel prices in general, but this was above and beyond ridiculous. As a comparison, the hotel we stayed at in Bergen was cheaper, with the room size being 50% bigger. Don't let this put you off visiting Tromso, which is a wonderful destination, but do go prepared.

The location is perfect for tours and the views are excellent. You will see the Northern Lights through your cameras at some point. The breakfast buffet is excellent, get used to the sharp knife for cutting bread for those who like the most perfect toast… keep your kids away from it though! The room was fine with a good bathroom.
The internet where our room was, wasn’t very good, an essential these days for booking tours etc. We didn’t have a safe which was surprising. Although we stayed over NYE I still thought the hotel was pricey for its rating and should have included more, free mini bar, maybe the odd evening dinner offer.

The hotel is in an excellent location near everything a tourist would want to do while in Tromso. Most tour starting points and shopping are a few meters away. View was beautiful from our room. Breakfast was good choice. Bathroom amenities were lovely. We just had to walk outside to view the northern lights on our 1st night 🤩
Increase the choice of menu at the restaurant and we probably would have used it more. Although it had snow, it would have been nice to see the view from outside the sky bar on the night we went there. The doors were locked and the staff said the didn't know how to open them

Good location, decent breakfast, coffee and tea in the lobby
The room had no space to place your clothes or a bag but had a not-so-useful ironing board. The shower was so "Eco", that it was impossible to get warm under it. No coffee maker (or was it an instant coffee and a kettle?). It's not a big deal but it's listed in facilities. Of course, there's coffee in the lobby. Also, placing a couple with a small kid next door to a bar that works till 1-2 am is quite inconsiderate

Excellent location right in centre of Tromsø. We were given a much nicer room than we’d booked and it was just lovely: super comfortable bed, excellent shower and with great blackout blinds (crucial for a good night’s sleep during the midnight sun! The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a huge range of breads, cereals and cold meats/fish and hot options. The bar upstairs had gorgeous views over the city.
The coffee was pretty dire from big machines. And the breakfast was incredibly busy so the layout made it awkward to get around. We got locked in the left luggage storage and had to beat on the door to exit: an internal opening button might be a good idea?
