The dinner and breakfast buffets were absolutely incredible. The dessert buffet was beautiful. Our waitress was incredibly charming and friendly, she made our evening wonderful. Staff was extremely professional and attentive.

Almost everything was perfect, except, when my wife and I asked for a plate and cutlery in our room, we were quite shocked that after already confirming they would bring it to our room, the hotel called 10 minutes later and decided they would charge us 10OMR (25 Euro). So we told them to not bring it at all because that is an insult. When you are paying the high amounts of money for the stay and dinners, etc, it's shameful that the resort would still be this cheap for such a basic request. Bad taste and simply unnecessary.

We had a wonderful stay at Anantara Jabal Akhdar. The food was excellent — from the delicious breakfast to the evening buffet and the à la carte restaurant Al Qalaa, which we also really enjoyed. The quality and variety were both impressive. Our room had a beautiful, peaceful view of the mountains, and I especially loved the yoga sessions, which you could book separately. The infinity pool offers stunning views, and the sports facilities, including the tennis court and gym, were great. The spa was another highlight. The facilities (like sauna, steam room, etc.) were beautifully done and very relaxing. Just be aware that they’re separated for women and men, and you need to book a time slot to access them. On the plus side, that means it feels very private and you often have the facilities almost to yourself — but you can’t use them together with your partner.

That said, the pricing overall felt too high for what was included. Many things, like yoga classes, came at an extra charge, even though the room rates were already premium. Food and drinks were also very expensive, and not always in line with the price. A downside for us was the situation at the pool: many guests reserved sunbeds early in the morning for their entire families, so by the time you arrived after breakfast, most spots were already taken. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t really manage this situation. Also, it’s important to note this is not an adults-only hotel — there were quite a few families with children around the pool and restaurants, so if you’re hoping for a quiet, couples-only atmosphere, this might not be the perfect fit.

Very friendly and accommodating staff , large rooms, canyon view is breathtaking, tennis court with equipment usage free. Diana’s point is beautiful . Great selection of food for breakfast.

Although location is pristine , there were lots of families with children who were very loud and hence the stay was not very peaceful. One Room was adjoined to one such family whose crying child woke us up. Hotel could improve soundproofing perhaps ?At the pool, a family of around 10 occupied the entire pool and their kids were splashing excessively and some went in with t-shirts on. Not a very great look. Breakfast, though states it is till 11am, the staff started clearing off at 10:45 and closed it off at 10:55. This felt a bit rushed.

Absolutely loved this property—it’s truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. The hospitality, service, and food were all exceptional. We also booked massages during our stay, and we unanimously agreed they were among the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend this property.

While I understand that this is an upscale hotel located in a Muslim country, I found the price of alcoholic beverages unreasonably high—€29 for an Aperol Spritz and €15 for a small beer. I also realise the property is set in the mountains, but it is very accessible. This was the only downside to an otherwise amazing experience.

Stunning location with beautiful views. The room has a relaxing atmosphere with not too much clutter (some hotels put cards etc everywhere). The staff is very friendly and polite. They ask before entering the room and they work quick and efficiently. The pickup guy was very friendly. Excellent breakfast. The manager is friendly and hands-on present. She had some good hiking tips to the nearby villages. I think the village walk could be promoted a little more because I didn’t know about it till I spoke to her. It was nice to receive a small welcome gift of chocolates.

When I met the guy for the pickup he didn’t carry my suitcase and made me go all around the parking garage with it. Not a big deal but for a 5 star hotel i expected differently. This would be unheard of in an asian 5 star resort. The bathroom is great but the shower felt very dated somehow compared to the rest of the room.

Anantara Al Jebel Al Akhdar boasts stunning views of the rugged Omani mountains, complemented by delicious food and well-organized activities like treks and archery, which were expertly led by Mahmoud and Hasan. The large and spacious rooms added to the comfort of the stay, making it an ideal retreat for relaxation and adventure.

However, the resort fell short in certain areas. The gym was non-functional and temporarily relocated to a villa, which was far from ideal. The overwhelming emphasis on Christmas decorations and music detracted from the authentic Arab experience I was seeking. Service felt impersonal at times, and the prices for spa treatments and treks were excessively high. Additionally, a guide on the Wadi Al Buwairid hike made inappropriate comments about Indian wage competition while gesturing at me, which was uncomfortable and unprofessional. These issues tempered an otherwise memorable stay.

Absolutely everything! Every single team member treated us with kindness, care, and warmth. This wasn’t just professional service, it was human connection, and that made all the difference. We also loved the peaceful silence, the breathtaking views, and the beautiful fruit trees spread throughout the property.

There was absolutely nothing we didn’t like. Everything exceeded our expectations.

The location is stunning and has incredible views of the valley. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. The hotel has plenty of facilities. And outdoor pools are fantastic. Everyone super kind with our 3 year old daughter 💕

The spa was disappointing: it has one jacuzzi, a tiny sauna and a broken steam bath. I expected much more from a place like this. Also, while everyone at the restaurant is extremely kind, I had the feeling it was too much and too frequent. But I am complaining about a very high level of.

Obviously incredibly beautiful hotel - amazing views for sunset and the rooms were really breathtaking. The pool was lovely, despite the wind making it a bit chilly! And the gardens were also really beautiful to wander around and see all the different regional plants. The spa was also great, and my massage treatment was very relaxing. All the spaces at the Anantara were stunning and it was a lovely place to be. Whilst our 3.5 year old was also very well catered for - she especially enjoyed using the bikes around the hotel grounds - the hotel is better equipped for older children who can enjoy the rock climbing and other activities. We did manage part of the hike you can do from the hotel, but it gets hot quickly and although most of the way is manageable, it was quite demanding for a young child!

The dinner buffet was good, but did seem quite steep for the choice on offer. There were very few vegetarian or vegan options. Breakfast was very good.
