Our stay at Vista Mar Hotel in Bocas del Toro was a mix of experiences. While the hotel shows signs of age and rooms are quite small, the accommodations were comfortable enough for our 3 nights visit. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a good start to our days. The daily happy hour, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, featured $3 cocktails - among the piña coladas and daiquiris we thoroughly enjoyed. At nearly $100 per night, Vista Mar felt a bit pricey for what it offers, but the central waterfront location and friendly staff helped balance things out. Even though we had quite a bit of rain during our stay, we still enjoyed the laid-back vibe of the island.

The location is great, next to sea, and a great view, short walk to center also away from noise. You can enjoy your time at the restaurant side or upstairs at shared balcony with a nice view. They have helpful and lovely staff. Breakfast was simple with multiple set menu options, but it was good enough to start the day.

The room I booked was not ready or occupied. They gave a different room. However, the host was very friendly and helpful. Although I was looking for a room which is at uspairs with better view and less noise, hotel provided enough comfortable solution, so they deserve 10.

Currently upgrading the roads outside, so a few diversions to hotel, workers started at 7am. Though, it needs to be done so not an issue

Perfect location: by the sea, near everything but still quiet.

Everything is a bit outdated and any extra out of concept, like drinking glass was very difficult to get. All of that is fine in a cheap hotel but not when i pay a price of a nice hotel.

Vista Mar is exactly that. I got to lay on a beach chair over the ocean while my kids threw a fishing line for a few days. We laid over the ocean at night and looked at the twinkling lights of other hotels and houses. It was tranquil. We swam off the dock and it was safe and clean. The deck really is the best! Room was nice, Beds good. Shower hot and great!

I need a fridge. Or access to a fridge. It really helps to be able to have cool drinks and my child drinks milk so, I need a fridge.

I had stayed here before and it has reasonably comfortable rooms with a good breakfast. I ended up not staying this time as I managed to get a last minute ride home and didn't need the room. I will stay here again if I'm stuck in Bocas on my way home.

The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Great location, right on the ocean. There was a common area above the restaurant, with hammocks and chairs where you chill and watch the boats go by.

Super clean comfortable linens and pillows, even materess covers were clean. Shower spotlesd, nice warm water. Great sleep. Lady at the bar also makes amazing cocktails and a small discrete spot outside over looking the sea to drink them. Breakfast basic but staff very nice. Been 3 times now, tried somewhere else once regreted it.

The breakfast was good. Staff spoke some English. Cocktails were good. nice long happy hour. Good swim area behind the deck. A/C worked well. good sun raises for end of April. Short walk to many activities. Easy to get a water taxi on the back dock.

Bathroom could be a little bigger.

Room number 13 was absolutely wonderful a balcony over the sea although you don't need that to have a nice balcony there's one that everyone can access

Breakfast it was a little iffy The coffee was terrible but the staff was wonderful very accommodating but somehow breakfast was just not good.
