The place is stunning, restaurant, pool/lounge area and general premises, all surrounded by gorgeous jungle and wildlife (was surprised to see so many sloths close by). Such a great vibe the entire day with the best music playlist. The food and the staff are fantastic! I think it's Nando who makes the cocktails - they are top-notch and he gives you service with a smile. I was blown away by how kind everyone is and how much they make you feel at home. We did a jungle hike to a beautiful beach (lead by volunteer Serena who did a great job and pointed out some cool spiders and the little red frogs). Adele was another an amazing volunteer. Marco, Sebas, Joanna, Victor, etc. the list goes on, everyone was incredible and made us never want to leave! I also enjoyed reading about the history of how Bambuda Lodge and Castle came to be, this made me appreciate staying there even more. It’s hard to put into words what a special place this is. Truly one of the best places we have ever stayed out of all our travels.

The view and the pool area are amazing, the restaurant/sitting area itself is also very nice. The food is very good.

The dorms are very very hot with no a/c and noisy. No running hot water. There is a 'funny' smell. ( probably from the humidity and the wood work + bad ventilation?)

We loved Bambuda Lodge, the views are incredible from the pool out to the sea. It is a sociable hostel without being too noisy. The family dinner each night is great to bring everyone together and all the food was delicious with lots of veggie options. Our bathroom looked out into the jungle which was very cool to hear all the wildlife at night. All the staff were very helpful and kind. Cannot recommend it enough.

Breakfast was quite expensive and there is no kitchen to cook your own meals so the bar bill racks up quite quickly as there are no other food options on the island.

Great vibes! Comfortable common areas including the deck, pool and yoga spaces, very comfy hammocks. The property is beautiful. Great chances to spot wildlife, amazing trees and plants all around. Drinks and food were good, appreciated the vegan options and enjoyed especially the smoothie bowl and carribean bowl. Appreciated the family dinner concept and social activities offered including the welcome drink to connect with other guests. Lovely and helpful staff and volunteers too, enjoyed the jungle hike and swim guided by Mary and the welcome drink and karaoke with Victor. Liked that they provide an extra beach towel free of charge.

Cleanliness in the dorm and bathroom could be better, another shower for the dorms wouldn't hurt. I guess if you stay longer and do lots of trips to other islands the water taxi costs can add up.

The location on the island with proximity to animals like sloths, the pool area and food was good, and the staff was very friendly.

The room and basic services. Thus, if you have a problem at night, you’re on your own. We had a problem with our key and couldn’t access our room. There was nobody at the reception (staff doesn’t seem to live on premises), WiFi is down at night so we couldn’t contact the WhatsApp number provided, we knocked on the volunteers’ dorm room but nobody answered. In the end, we slept outside and fixed our problem in the morning. No compensation was offered when we explained the problem. I’d suggest if there no staff on premises to at least add an emergency number at the reception.

The island and the views are amazing. Nothing beats the serenity of that view. The place is run by some very friendly locals, and supported by volunteers who give a little extra touch. Anouk truly put in a lot of effort to make everyone feel at home. I particularly enjoyed the welcome drink and the ‘family-dinner’ (dinner served for everyone at the same time, so it’s easy meeting other travelers). Over dinner we decided to join the afterparty of Filthy Fridays at Selina’s, so i got on a boat to go out with 9 others i had just met over dinner. That would otherwise not have happened so easily. Playing volleyball at the pool, having three sloths around to complete the wildlife experience, what more can i say? It may be a bit luxurious for backpacking, but making the trip is totally worth it.

Maybe the heat in the dorms? The fans are on small racks above your bed so they kind of blow over you as their target. Also, the bunkbeds in other bambuda hostels are more up to date. Not a reason not to go though.

The pool, bar, and restaurant were great at the hotel! The staff was amazing, however the volunteers were not great. Our tour guide ended up losing everyone on the nature walk- not sure where he went. The walk in itself was great, and my boyfriend was able to help everyone who got stuck in the mud, but it was kind of crazy that our guide never helped. Overall I would stay here again, but for a similar price we ended up staying at eclypse Del Mar, and it was a bit nicer. If you’re looking for a more social atmosphere I would recommend bambuda though. The construction was also not an issue whatsoever.

The volunteers all signed up together and know eachother from their home in France. I thought that this made them a little less into helping the guests and more into hanging out with eachother. Though the permanent staff was great!

Our private jungle bungalow was adorable. Since it was also a hostel I was impressed that the cleaning service replaced our towels with fresh ones. The hike to the beach was so fun and very cool that it is included in your stay including the water taxi back! Our guide on the hike Alban was very helpful and kind throughout the excursion! The people who served us breakfast every morning were very attentive and kind , I believe their names were Evan and Romeo, and Pierre. WE joined the welcome drink and trivia afterwards. Trivia was so fun and Emma and Maya did a great job with both leading the trivia and taking care of us for dinner! I lost a toenail while there and Jami was so kind in helping me with the first aid kit and everything I needed to clean up my wound! The food was always great! An overall amazing stay!

Nothing! I didn't have time to do the waterslide! Sad I missed it!

The view and pool area is gorgeous and very relaxing. I love that there was a little gym area and a place to workout. The hot water was not working in the dorm bathroom during my stay and I appreciated that Andrea went above and beyond to try to fix it. When she couldn’t fix it, she moved me to a private room. I was prepared to write a negative review about the hot water but she really made the effort to turn the situation around and completely changed my opinion. With that said, the dorms are not nice at all for the price. They are very dark and the 4 bed room I was in was cramped. The lockers weren’t even in the room. Also, the website describes it as being “chill” but I did not find loud music and people yelling until 11:00 very “chill”. The website is very deceptive about what kind of atmosphere to expect. Bambuda Bocas Town was way more quiet and relaxed than Bambuda Lodge.

Swimming pool area, family dinner, activities in the evening, also nice to connect people with a welcome drink, the breakfast was yummy and the coffee as well book directly the option with breakfast you will have the possibilitys to choose one dish of the menu and get a one drink. Staff was super friendly :)

The dorms are really small and sticky, and i feel the automatic room spray every 5 minutes makes it worse than without. Maybe every hour would be enough. There is also no space for your stuff, so some more clotheslines outside were good. Especially it's difficult to dry clothes because of the humidity but this are only suggestions for improvement. So all in all beautiful outside area but upgrade the dorms are bit.
