The location is on a beautiful peninsula with floral and natural grounds surrounding the property. Also, the views from both sides of the hotel were fantastic. The common areas and the rooms have large windows that showcase these views. It is a peaceful environment and it is just a short taxi ride into the center of Puno.

The rooms were very nice, but they could use a little updating. The carpeting was a little old looking and the window sills could use re-painting, but I would still recommend staying at this hotel.

This is a wonderful property on a private peninsula near Puno. Our room had a spectacular view over the lake and Uros floating islands. There is a trail we walked around the property and enjoyed the beautiful flora and fauna of Titikaka lake. In the evening we set next to fireplace and drank wine. Breakfast is excellent with a magnificent view. Make sure you wake up on time( around 5ish) to witness the most beautiful sunrise.There isn’t better place to stay around Puno. I can’t recommend it enough!

The lake Titikaka stinks, and walking around hotel stinks too:/ Restrooms in the lobby area need more attention- they aren’t clean and often miss TP and soup:(

Stunning view of the lake from the room. VERY comfortable and clean room. Good to have a gym and jacuzzi though we only used the gym. Restaurant was very good too. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We thought it was a bit pricey for what you get. The toilet in our bathroom clogged up on our last night. The jacuzzi opening hours are not convenient (only from 4-8pm). Some of the gym equipment was not working. It costs 15 soles each time to get to the hotel from the town centre. The tours offered by the hotel’s agency are much more expensive than the ones offered in town. In fact, we found the whole Puno/Titicaca experience disappointing (TOO touristy and not very cultural/historical), so I’d avoid the area if time/money is tight.

Amazing location, super kind and professional staff ( special remark for Don Eduardo who went out of his way to help me with the gluten free options both at the restaurant and for the room service, always very kind and helpful). The hotel staff were super helpful, friendly and listened to what you needed and assisted going above and beyond. The room was immaculately clean , spacious and the view of the lake was stunning. Breakfast had options for any dietary needs and fresh produce, a beautiful fresh breakfast . Option to take away a coffee with you too. I had lunch at the hotel again the food was fresh and delicious. The hotel is quiet and peaceful . The busiest time is early breakfast as everybody heads off on their daily tours/trips which the hotel accommodates and manages well seamlessly. The location is away from busy Puno so a 5 minute taxi ride into the port or pick up from your tour agency can be arranged. The hotel is on an island of its own and has a walk which you can do around the hotel by the lake which is tranquil and peaceful which can be a short length of time or longer if you take in the views. If your heading into Puno for Lake Titicaca then this is the idealistic place to stay overlooking the lake.

It is a very good hotel as it is better to stay outside of the city and have beautiful views on the lake. However, it is a bit old style hotel, 5 stars old style too:), the airco does not work properly, the restaurant is overpriced ( but the food is good), the sauna and fitness part need some upgrade. Prices of the hotel agency high . Better book taxis and trips in the city. Overall good hotel.

The GHL Hotel Lago is a beautiful property with a stunning location and views. We received an upgrade to sunrise rooms and the sun rise was truly spectacular. The check in and tour staff were very helpful and we booked a tour to Uros which was great. The evening restaurant staff were very attentive and the food great. We also loved walking around the property and seeing Guinea pigs in the garden in the afternoon.

The barman often seemed a little stressed and the lunch restaurant staff were not as attentive as the evening ones.

The views of the lake from our rooms were stunning. There was also a trail you could take around the property, and there was also a lot of wild life you could see, such as the alpacas. There were a lot of options for breakfast, which is amazing for if you have picky eaters. Lunch and Dinner menu’s were also great! Got to try and taste a lot of different foods.

We had a beautiful view overlooking Lake Titicaca and alpacas that wandered around below.

The lighting in the dining room was too bright so it was hard to see the beautiful views at night. We booked a transfer from the train station to the hotel and they charged US$25, of which was about 8 times what it should have cost. When I questioned the desk staff was non-responsive. Bottled water and laundry were also very expensive, but there are no other options given the remote location of the hotel.

Lovely hotel with outstanding views. The location just outside Puno was great, only a short inexpensive taxi ride into town. We spent a night on the uros islands in a homestay prior to our stay here and the hotel is right next to the port used for the pick up and drop off. Breakfast at this hotel is outstanding, best in our month in Peru. Loved the jacuzzi in the spa area. Staff were very helpful and service was excellent. Overall a great 5 star stay.

Trips are very expensive compared to prices in town. Issue with the mini bar not being full on arrival and then being charged for missing items, however this was addressed very quickly and efficiently by the receptionist.
