The best hotel in Puno for sure. They put in a lot of effort to make our stay lovely, even though we only stayed one night. Our room had a big, comfortable bed and was very clean. There was a chocolate on the pillow and a cookie given to us before bed. The lovely staff kindly recommended restaurants unprompted. They prepared breakfast for us 10 minutes earlier as we had to leave early for the bus - the breakfast is simple but made fresh to order. I would recommend the hot cakes/pancakes. The room had WiFi and the shower was fantastically hot. We slept very well. They arranged us a taxi in the morning too. The location is excellent - just a block from the main square. We can recommend a fabulous hole-in-the-wall pizza place called Morgana also which is close by. There is also a cafe for fresh coffee and selling panettone on the street in front.

The breakfast yogurt is the flavoured sweet pink kind. Just to note that like most hotels in Puno, the decor is a little out of date and the carpets particularly. However, this is by far one of the best options in the main town.

This place was absolutely amazing. From the small touches like the coca tea near the reception and even a welcome cookie, to helping us order a cab to the bus station and modifying “to go” boxes to suit our dietary needs. This place was absolutely amazing. The room itself was warm and cozy which included bathrobes, a heater and a water kettle with tea and coffee nearby. Given that we’d been on the road for a while and wanted to acclimate at a higher altitude, this spot was perfect for that. Close to the main square, many great restaurants and coffee shops, it was a great home base.

Huge, comfortable bed. Enough space to move around the room and plenty of space to open suitcases. Breakfast was abundant. Staff were exceptional and helpful.

It was really difficult to find decent food for dinner. This is a complaint about Puno rather than the hotel. I happened to be there over Easter weekend, so maybe the restaurant hours were different, but having some guidance in the hotel for food delivery might have been more helpful. There are restaurants everywhere. Many were closed, or if they were open, they were empty. 4 out of 5 restaurants advertised themselves as pizzerias.

The Tierra Viva Puno Plaza hotel exceeded our expectations. It was located right in the middle of the main area of town which made it easy to walk around and explore. The staff was extremely helpful - we had an overnight stay on Lake Titicaca the next night and they allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel at no extra charge. Additionally, we left some laundry which was very nice to come back to clean clothes. Their willingness to help us with luggage storage gave us so much peace of mind and we greatly appreciate their hospitality! Additionally, the room was clean, the shower hot, and the breakfast / lobby area was great. Would def recommend a stay here when in Puno!

Nothing to say about what we didn't like! Big fans of this hotel overall. No complaints!

Clean, good location (but see note below), helpful staff, comfortable hotel. Right in the heart of Puno close to the main tourist areas.

You should be aware that there is a nightclub (Domino Megadisco - look on Google Maps) at the back of the hotel (not part of the hotel) that is open 6 nights a week (closed Sunday). At the rear of the hotel you can hear the thud of music from 10pm to 5am. We were so tired after our travels that it didn't disturb us too much but I did ask for a room change the next morning which the staff were happy to do. If you do stay at the hotel ask for a room at the front (overlooking Grau). We didn't hear the music at all in our front room (404).

Location is very good, right in the historic center. We did not sit down for breakfast because we had early morning trip to Lake Titicaca Islands. It was nice that the front desk personnel offered to pack up box breakfast.

There was loud street music from the street that lasted through the whole night until 5 am. We heard it from the first night and informed the front desk. Special thanks to Isabel and Magalia who helped us to find another room even though the hotel was fully booked. We managed to have a good night sleep the 2nd night before leaving for Cusco.

We enjoyed the Tierra Viva Puno very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful to find restaurants, tours and general information about the town and area. The breakfast was generous and featured omelets, french toast and pancakes made to order. The room was comfortable with needed heat for the cold nights.

Because of holiday celebrations going on the streets by the hotel were blocked off so we had to walk a distance when we needed transportation. Not a big deal but with lots of luggage that could be an issue.

A very good hotel, located in the center of the city near the plaza de armas. A superb staff willing to assist with everything - book a taxi (no Uber in town), provide details about the city, even open the dining room earlier than 6am,as we had to leave early for our next city. Breakfast is rich and tasty. Room is larger than most rooms we stayed at, and bed is comfortable. Bottom line - an excellent choice in Puno, highly recommended.

Very good value, and it's one of the hotels the Bolivia hop bus picks up from if you want to use that to get to La Paz. The location is pretty handy for the main square. Decent sized room with a massive comfy bed, nicely decorated. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good value.

The location, while handy for the main square, felt a little bit sketchy at night - there were people sleeping on the benches outside. By no means unsafe though.

Very friendly and helpful staff, close to Plaza de Armas, clean room, big comfortable bed, flatsceen TV, hot shower with great water pressure, good buffet breakfast with fresh fruit, free coffee and tea in the lobby

Sat. night was very noisy with music from a restaurant/club nearby, you also hear everything going on in and around the house, only a small electric heater in the room, no heating in the bathroom, towels could be better, jam and butter in plastic containers at breakfast
