Immerse yourself in the peaceful nature surrounding the Loboc river. This cozy resort offers beautiful rooms built with natural elements and located in a beautiful garden a step away from the river in a quiet area. It also has a restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks that is open from 7:00 to 22:00. I loved the mosquito net over the bed as, being surrounded by nature, will be present yes or yes. My advice is to avoid switching on the bedside light at night as this attract flying ants, same for your mobile torch light. In this case the mosquito net will not be able to stop them. Be ready, if you are lucky, to find also a little geko in your room. Don't be scared, gekos eat mosquitos and are not dangerous, so they are more than welcome in filippino's houses. The fan on the ceiling is giving you comfort during the day as it is connected with the ceiling light but don't worry because in the night you can use the other fan that is available for you in the room free of charge. The bathroom is spacious with electrical ventilation and hot water, body soap is provided as well as a little soap bar, shampoo and conditioner. A filtered bottle of water will be waiting for you in the room at your arrival and will be refilled daily. Room is cleaned and bed is done daily. On the third day I had also the towel changed. The housekeepers are working very hard as keeping the place clean is very challenging due to the vegetation and the natural materials used to build the complex, but they do an amazing job. Breakfast is delicious. I loved the vegetable omelette, so soft and juicy on the inside. If you like eggs well done please inform the personnel when placing your order. I chose to have a salty breakfast but, from what I could see on other tables, the pancakes also looked delicious. I also enjoyed the dinner service and tried a different dish every night. All is very tasty, cooked, presented and served with love.

I really enjoyed my stay at this resort. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived until check-out. Their warm hospitality truly made a difference and created a welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. The location is also fantastic—peaceful, yet close enough to key spots and attractions. Service was consistently excellent, whether at the front desk, restaurant, or housekeeping. One suggestion for improvement would be to have all rooms fully air-conditioned for added comfort, especially during warmer days. Overall, a lovely experience and I would definitely come back!

Gorgeous little resort filled with lush banana and palm trees, butterflies, flowers and bird song. Rooms were lovely with a nice big bed and much needed aircon! Staff are so helpful and friendly, keen to book activities, transport, plus things like laundry if you need it doing. Good breakfast selection and tasty food available for lunch and dinner too (especially the aubergine omelette!!) Would also recommend the Fox & Firefly Cottages for dinner next door :) It’s right on the river with friendly locals around, and very easy to do firefly tours, river cruises etc for super cheap prices.

The resort is located right on the river Loboc. It is a basic accommodation (if you want more space take the family room), but what makes it a good choice is the staff. Staff is really friendly and going out of their way to provide you immediately with whatever transportation/tours/activities you wish and very very friendly.

-the internet is quite slow (but this is probably a general issue of the area, as mobile data was bad too) -the bathroom window could have had mosquito net. We had mosquitos enter the bathroom. Staff immediately sprayed which removed them of course, but a net is a simpler solution.

The property is right on the river, with a pleasant courtyard. We stayed in the large air-conditioned room, which was was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were always ready to help but never pushy. The people of Bohol are amazing. They organized a private river cruise which left right from the property, and went to some small falls where we could swim, passing by the floating restaurant tours. We were accompanied and entertained by Jerris one of the most enthusiastic and friendly local students doing a work experience for school. They also organized a tour of the countryside in a tuk-tuk with Pedro. Great option to see the countryside close up with stops at zip line, chocolate hills, tarsier sanctuary, other animal sanctuary and waterfall for swimming. There is a restaurant onsite and their breakfast was good. One of us is vegetarian so we ate mostly at the restaurant next door which has a large vegetarian/vegan menu and fabulous food. Drinking water is available from water jugs anytime and prices for tours etc are reasonable.

This, by far, was my favourite place to stay during our two week holiday. I loved the bamboo accommodation and being so close to the river. We went on a wonderful boat ride at night. It was so dark, but the sky was lit with a million stars. Along the river bank, only the outlines of different trees and shrubs could be seen, while fireflies danced on a few of the treetops. An enchanted place♥️

Cash only restaurant and for the activities. Even though one could get to an ATM/bank, I would have done more and eaten more (!) if I didn't have to budget the cash we had.

The hotel itself is very cozy, safe, nice leisure area, delicious food on site. Very helpful and professional staff. Everything is really great, I liked it very much. The family room was huge, perfectly clean, air conditioning, TV, etc. Very comfortable. By the way location is not very near from town, but you will ride motorbike, so it is not an issue.

The price was on the big side, but thats what you get for good comfort.

Great staff and good local experience. The tours were really great and private, we had an amazing experience visiting the local attractions. The food at the bar was really good. There is a dog called Molly that stole our hearts. Overall it was a great stay. Thank you to all the team that made our experience unforgettable. Lovely staff, really warm and helpful. The gardens are very pretty, the common room is comfortable, there are plenty of rental amenities and activities that they arrange, and the location is great - peaceful and quiet. The breakfast (especially the pancakes!) is tasty.

The shower was a little hard to figure out and a little weak in power. It gets quite humid in the rooms, but it is normal as it’s so close to the river!

Very clean Tranquil - it has two other options for restaurants nearby (we recommend the fox and the firefly a few steps away from the resort) and a lovely local village. TukTuks are available to take you to places further away. Beautiful, traditional cottages. Extremely accommodating and hardworking staff who love to help. Gardens are stunning. Rooms cleaned every day. Food prepared was delicious and always fresh. We ate at the property 3/5 night for dinner. Breakfast had many options and all very good portion sizes/very tasty. Fresh towels and bedding ever other day We did a firefly tour with them which they booked 400 pesos. Cathy (the cook’s) husband was our driver for the ‘Countryside tour’. We visited chocolate hills, Tarsier sanctuary, secret falls and the double hanging bridge for a good price! He was also available to take us to the island hopping tour - I would suggest booking this with a company before you arrive then ask Cool River to arrange transport. A additional fan is offered in each room for no additional cost. We had such a lovely stay and loved being surrounded by nature!

A sunlounger to be able to sit outside in the sun on days where you do not have excursions booked would be nice. A larger decking space by the river so that people can sit with drinks on bean bags/chairs. Air con in each room would make these cottages even more amazing!
