Rita and her brother.are wonderful hosts. Always very polite and willful to spend time chatting with guests. She helped me a lot during my staying, especially the first day when, extremely tired, I asked if I could rest somewhere while waiting for the room to be gotten ready (I was there three hours earlier than the normal check-in hours), and she allowed me to get into the chill-room and sleep on the sofa. The hostel is so cosy and perfectly clean in every area. The beds are really comfortable and the room well aired. The kitchen has many facilities, such as citrus juicer and blender. The garden is nice, too, and there is a swimming pool which looks over the valley of the town.

Despite the hostel being very close to the centre of the town, the ascent to get to the hostel itself is pretty steep. This was not a problem for me, though.

This accommodation truly took me by surprise – in the best way. First of all, the hostel is run by wonderful owners who are incredibly kind, welcoming, and communicative. During my travels in Portugal, I faced an unexpected and serious issue, and they went out of their way to help me simply out of goodwill. Second, the place is very well maintained. There’s a pool and a small courtyard to relax in, a games and entertainment room, comfortable beds, clean and well-equipped bathrooms, and even a shared balcony with lovely views of the countryside and nearby horses. Third, the village itself is absolutely charming. If you're looking for hidden gems in Portugal, this is definitely one of them – a beautiful hilltop fortress with a church, narrow walking streets, a pedestrian bridge over the river, and plenty of peaceful spots to sit and enjoy the view. This is an excellent place to spend the night. And if you ask, the hosts are more than happy to share their personal recommendations for what to see and where to eat in the area.

Beautiful country setting just outside the main section of town. Quiet, peaceful, tranquil, relaxing. Sit beside the pool in the morning sun and sip coffee as you watch the roosters, and hens, cackling while they free-range the pasture below, along with the horses. Grill up some fish, don our bathing suit, and take a dip in the pool to bring in a pleasant evening. Sleep soundly in the comfortable beds with the windows open a crack to let in the fresh night air. If you stay here, don't expect an overnight, expect an experience that will stay with you your entire trip and beyond,

Loved meeting Anna who greeted us at the front gate and gave us a tour, then spent time chatting with us. She was fluent in English or this couldn't have happened. Anna shared information about the town which we explored the next morning, after coffee beside the pool. The layout of the rooms, the common areas, well tended gardens brings an ambiance of relaxation in a wonderfully rural setting close to town. This would be a fantastic venue for a family reunion, wedding, small business retreat etc. We will be back!

I notice it took some time for the hot water to arrive at shower. Once there, it will only remain hot for 3 min. I am sure this helps move people along in this shared bathroom experience. The only thing I would suggest is that you stay by the tub till the water warms so you can get right in and get your full 3 min. The shower and bathroom were spotless and well tended otherwise.

The location is good, in a quiet area, but you can easily reach the center of the town. You can get there walking 15-20min, if this is not an option, you will need to have a car. We stayed in a separate independent room, with a kitchenette and the falicities were good. We liked their recommendations regarding places to eat and we also liked the pool.

Quiet with many relaxing options (pool space, game room, kitchen). Rita and Pedro are very nice and always tending to our needs.

What I liked the least is the shared bathroom, but in the end I didn’t have any trouble with waiting times to use it (there are at least 5 available) and they are always kept spotless clean by the owners.

Everything was perfect from the first moment, our host Rita was incredible and she did all to make our stay extraordinary. The location vibe was so peaceful, cleanliness was impeccable. We highly recommend this place.

The grounds outside the property are very beautiful. There was a horse and a chicken wandering around in the field. There is also a well equipped, kitchen, and game room. They accommodated our late check-in and made it a comfortable stay for us.

Exceptionally well equipped kitchen. Very clean. Family room with one double and a bunk bed, sleeps 4. The shared bathrooms were tidy and clean. Lovely outdoors area with a view over fields and a horse / chicken paddock. Peaceful and quiet. Little playground next to the hostel.
