The Foz beach hotel is a rather basic hotel, maybe a bit outdated in style, but at a nice location at the Buarcos beach. The rooms were clean, with a basic bathroom and a nice balcony (choose the ocean view!!). The breakfast was also basic (bread rolls, croissants, some yoghurt etc), but for us absolutely sufficient. Eggs are boiled freshly for each guest! The staff is super friendly, speaks english and they really take an effort to make your stay nice. The neighbourhood of Buarcos is quiet, but has some nice restaurants (look up Il Camino, excellent pizza!) and the hotel is next to a big supermarket. Th ehotel is especially nice when you plan to visit all the great sites in the neighbourhood (Aveiro, Coimbra, etc) by car, since it is very easy to find a parking place for your car.

We liked best of all the very nice welcome and friendliness we received from the reception team and in particular the way Emon looked after us throughout our 7 night stay. We have never received such good service from a hotel and we’ve stayed in many over the years. Many thanks to Emon he is a credit to your hotel. We also liked the room size, the comfort of the bed, the hotel location, and the cleanliness throughout. The car park for the hotel was easily accessed direct from the main road and we enjoyed use of the disabled space which we needed as I have mobility problems. We were also given a 3rd floor room close to the lift which also made life easier for us.

After reading so many bad reviews I was very positively surprised. My room was clean, well and simple decorated. The bathroom was modernized and clean. The size of the room was not too small (I didnt expect a suite) The stuff was super friendly and helpful. Maybe it was so because I engaged with them not only always complaining, but greeting, asking for advice in a friendly matter and make compliments for things that I liked. They tried everything when a taxi took too long to get me to my church in time. Offered me a collegue's e-scooter, and were looking around for somebody with car to drop me off. I cant say anything bad about them. Overall a really nice experience.

the lift was not my favorite. Sometimes it took forever to close, other times you didn't wanted to be the 3rd to get in because then, if it was in the mood it shut fast....

The hotelis very good located and the cleaning was good. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom view is amazing.

The staff was awful. We left our card with one of our colleagues who stayed in another hotel and once we got to the reception requesting for another room card the receptionist was sleeping in a matress on the floor and GOT MAD because we woke him up and cursed us claiming that a lot of clients were losing their cards, which was not our case.

Staff used the language barrier as an excuse to force us into an upgrade that we didn’t want and charged us more than the agreed booking.com price. So we got charged twice. Booking.com were able to email them and get them to refund us but they kept the extra money for the beach view instead of city view

The room was clean spacious, Large double bed. Powerful shower, plenty of hot water. Nice size tv with film channels. Location is great across the road from the beach and right next to lidl. We had a really nice stay in this clean and quiet hotel.

cleaner was rude and lazy. asked me 2/3 if I really wanted my room clean, clearly didn’t want to do her job, and also very argumentative, asked her whether she will change bedsheets, said I have to pay more instead of explaining hotel policy which is 3 days, and clearly didn’t clean room properly when I got back into room as I could see bed crumps on desk.

very close to the beach, various cafes and restaurants. a bit of a walk from the station if you came by train, but otherwise great location. nice hotel and helpful staff.

the bed sheets had someone's hair on it, which was an unpleasant discovery. Hence, taken off some points on cleanliness and overall mark. team has offered to change a room, but there was no point to move as it was just stay for one night.

Weekend breakfast was excellent. Being slightly out of season not many people were at the hotel during the week so the breakfast was rather sparse and so chose to eat elsewhere. Perhaps in the week breakfast could be a cooked to order or request desired breakfast the night before when ordering breakfast?
