Just stayed for 1 night in a fairly basic and reasonable hotel. Was pleasantly surprised - everything better than expected. Room was quite basic, but very nice (had a fridge, good shower and toiletries) and had a lovely balcony overlooking the river. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Was fairly easy to find the hotel and could park right outside the hotel (and they were happy for us to leave the car there for a few hours after we checked out). Fantastic location - could see the bridge from the hotel and it was literally two mins walk to the city centre (but in a nice quiet location). Nice breakfast included too.

The location of Imperio do Norte is unbeatable, right in the centre in front of the river and the pedestrian walk lined by centenary poplar trees. The hotel is solid, with wide corridors and clean, lean, and functional rooms. My room was very comfortable, with a nice bathroom, a desk, a fridge and a nice balcony. The breakfast was varied and excellent. The staff were efficient, professional and very helpful. Looking forward to staying here again.

This hotel is right beside the river in Ponte de Lima with a beautiful avenue of trees separating them both. The person on reception was very helpful and organised when we arrived. Our room had a balcony that looked out towards the river. The room and bathroom were very modern. We had a good night's sleep as the bed was very comfortable and there was no noise from outside or from the rooms either side of us. We did not eat at the hotel in the evening as we were exploring Ponte de Lima and there were a lot of good restaurants to choose from. We did have breakfast in the morning though and there was a good and varied choice.

The fact that we only stayed one night.

Hotel is in a great location with excellent views of the river lovely balcony to sit out on. Room was very clean comfortable and well appointed, free parking facilities with the use of a garage for my motorcycle was a real bonus. Excellent breakfast provided in a well laid out room, good choice of food. The staff on reception were particularly helpful and friendly with a great service, would definitely recommend and visit again.

The location and standard of the accommodation is excellent. The room was quiet and the bed very comfortable.

There was a crazy detour that made it very difficult to get to the hotel in May 2025. A temporary problem though. Also be aware the bar and restaurant are closed on Mondays. Not a problem as there is a lot of choice in Ponte de Lima, but maybe not so good if you are arriving late or want to dine in.

Always clean and family friendly. This time we noticed a facelift, mainly in the entrance and breakfast location. Nice location, by the river. A must e every time we visit the north of Portugal!

That the restaurant was closed. Sometimes after a long travel, it is handy to have a restaurant inside the hotel. Before it was a actually a good restaurant, with good prices and food.

This relatively modern hotel is right on the Camino path as you get to Ponte de Lima and is clean and comfortable with all basic facilities. The staff are pleasant and helpful and a decent breakfast is provided. The location is great - right on the river just a few steps from the bars and restaurants of Ponte de Lima.

The hotel does not have much charm but if you are on the Camino and want somewhere clean and comfortable with a private bathroom for a great price, I would very much recommend it.

Only issue was access to the parking was not clear. There were road closures around the hotel that were not communicated to us. The only way in was through a road that said no access. Would be good to include this info in your communication.

Location by the river was great and secure parking in front of the hotel. Friendly and helpful reception staff and good selection at breakfast.

The waitress at breakfast was unfriendly and did not seem happy in her job. It doesn’t take much to smile and welcome people! The bar was not well stocked and did not offer much choice.

The location is tops! We traveled with eBikes and were offered a garage for storage and reloading the batteries, which is outstanding customer service

Breakfast is a bit basic, but ok considering the room rate. We had a bit of bad luck in that the entire village was celebrating their patron's day or similar, and noise was constant until 06:00AM - but this is not a hotel-related program, so just keep in minnd when booking to ask for possible festivities...
