Nicely located at the foot of the Serra da Estrela, with good access to the hills and some of the best driving roads in Portugal. The Villa is pretty and very nicely renovated, with large, comfortable rooms and wc´s, stocked with good quality amenities and excellent water pressure (takes a while to heat). Nicely stocked library with several curiosities and interesting things to check out, in Portuguese. Luís, the owner, is a nice and knowledgeable host which can help with great tips to enjoy the region, adjusting it to your tastes and interest. Staff also nice and welcoming. Good breakfast with fresh fruits eggs and good selection of drinks and bread, cakes, etc, and even open to waiting a little longer beyond the set time, if needed.

São Romão, the village, isn't particularly interesting. There aren't many places to check out within walking distance, including restaurants. If you want a good meal, be prepared to drive.

the rooms were spacious and clean, the property is a historic house that is pleasure to experience. the location is also perfect for any trips about the sierra. the owner shared with us also a list of best restaurants in the area, all sorted by type and distance, which was very helpful. Overall the owner is a very sociable and present person always looking forward to help.

How immaculate and tidy everything was. Housekeeping was sharp!!I loved how stretched the bed sheets were. And the breakfast… delicious, made with love and care. The whole staff were extra nice and made you feel welcome and at home. Luis is an outstanding host and you can see how much passion love he puts into making your stay as best as possible. The level of detail and care it was, to me, the best I've experienced.

Everything. More than a hotel this is a great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings of Serra da Estrela. The house is very well decorated keeping the original look not forgetting all the needed confort of our days. Great breakfast with local products served by a friendly and welcoming staff. Place to return.
