We are completely amazed by this hotel! A real 5 star service and it’s the case when you even feel you are getting more than what you paid for! The place is located in the old village completely integrated in the landscape and even got a waterfall right in the hotel borders! All the food is local and fresh. Additional plus is the spa area that you book only for yourself, in our opinion it was priceless and make you feel like a real VIP guest. Our dog also got a special treatment and gifts. We will come back many many times!

Only that the stay was too short 😂 could stay a full month in this place

We, a family of 3, just finished our stay at Casas da Lapa. All of us enjoyed every second of our stay: from check in to the last moment of check out. The property is located in a marvelous, founded at medieval times, village. It is a tiny and super tranquil place to walk along numerous routes, meditate, breathe clean air, swim at mountain river beaches (very cold, clean and super refreshing waters at nearby praia fluvial, highly recommend!). The hotel is wonderful, and consists of renovated old houses and a newly built block. We enjoyed a lot 2 outdoor swimming pools, small but cosy spa, library and a cinema room. We stayed in room #2 which boasts a great view over the valley. During our stay, in order to meet an emergency need of one of the guests, we were asked to move to room #3, which bigger in size and in fact suited us, as a family, even more, although does not have such a great view and privacy. The hotel is very pet friendly, all staff is absolutely helping and welcoming. Food: breakfast and lunches are super filling and tasty. Dinner: a set menu concept with a selection of wines. Quality and taste of dishes is top notch. The only wish is that I would personally like to have a bigger size of portions at dinner (at least for main dish) and a bit earlier time of start of the dinner (at least at 19:30). Hotel also offers red and sparkling wines of its own production (vinhais do Sabarro) - excellent quality and taste. We especially liked the red one, very thin in palate and aroma, somewhat of Valpolicella from Italy. We highly recommend this property to solo, couple and family travelers. Hotel and its amenities are perfect and the village is magnificent. Local people are friendly and welcoming, always greeting you at the street. If you are looking for a perfect getaway from noise, buzz and fuss of city-style life to clear up your mind, to think, to enjoy nature, sunsets, along with comfort, service and great food - this place is for you!

Nothing to dislike. Perfection in almost every moment!

The staff is very frindly and hosting, I felt like I was a guest that had been waited. Hotel administration truly values your stay and comfort and offers room upgrade when they have spare. It is also notable in every detail. Feela like all hotel, service and atmosphere is a guest oriented. The hoter exterior and interior design is decent and minimalistic, made with nature materials and colors, that helps you to relax from eye pollution. The restaurant service and food are great and delicious, I even tried currant (which I haven't been able to find for a long time). Moreover, the location is perfect: you live in a small village in 5star hotel observing picturesque viewes and having beautiful hiking trails nereby.

The staff facility care food amenities were all exceptional It's such a pleasure to rate this extraordinary place where we stayed for 3 nights . The room itself was immaculate and super comfortable. The facilities is in great standard, very well equipped and pleasant I had a back injury and hence was stranded in the room , the owner Maria-Manuel has personally taken me to the hospital and took great care of me during the process including  helping me get medications, and the staff bringing food to the room and taking care of all our needs in a very gentle kind and friendly manner. Later when we looked for an easily  accessible shower the owner upgraded us to a suite that has an accessible shower. I couldn't  even dream of such a caring and compassionate service🏆 The staff was super accommodating and friendly and the rest of the amenities were gorgeous In spite of our circumstances we genuinely enjoyed this hotel's extraordinary hospitality and warmth. 🥂 Thank you !

Nothing , we loved everything

Everything. Extremely friendly staff, exquisite facilities all very relaxing and zen. loved every second of it. There are no words to describe how great it all was. The interior is absolutely marvellous, with a cinema room, library and a living room, so cozy and beautiful. And having the pool and sauna for ourselves (as you had to book it so it’s private) was just amazing. Would totally recommend for an absolute break from everything, forget about team calls and deadlines. The location is also very nice, although quite narrow streets to drive so not for the faint hearted. 30min drive up in the mountains and you have amazing views and walks. Would also recommend to stay in for dinner - the menu was really good (perhaps the main could still be improved a bit), but overall good value and they easily accommodated for a vegetarian diet.

Breathtaking views from our room to the Serra... quietude... good breakfast from 9am on with no time limit, the possibility to have privacy when using indoor swimming pool and sauna (reservation based), the friendliness and promptness of the staff, offering late check-out, great restaurant with delicious food, regionally sourced - lovely design of the hotel

the big windows in the indoor pool area were dirty, the plants there dry; as breakfast is not buffet style, would help to get information about the options available. Only after having finished did we learn that they also serve espresso coffee and natural yogurt... Lighting in the restaurant was poor (we asked for a table light but they didn't have enough for all tables)

Stunning mountain location, beautiful indoor pool, all common areas decorated so beautifully, and the room was very clean and comfortable.

I think the TV Room / Cinema should have comfy sofas and arm chairs instead of hard dinner chairs!! That’s a pretty small deal though! Also the road up to the hotel is narrow, steep and slightly scary. If you are driving just be aware!

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left four days later, the entire team made us feel like family. They took care of our every need and comfort. The warmth felt was exception, not to mention the five-star facilities, phenomenal food and spa treatments. Please do not hesitate to book your stay. We will be back again!

On our arrival a complementary welcome cocktail was served, that was a nice surprise. The breakfast was fantastic, with only a minus, no expresso coffee only americano being served. However, to be fair, we did not ask if they had it. The hotel diner was really nice and tasty, with a selection of wines included. The room was very clean and had a coffee machine with a few pods included, as well as tea. The staff were very welcoming and always happy to help. If you fancy a hillwalking there is one path starting at the village and ending next to the hotel (Rota da Caniça ~7Km).

The outside swimming pool water was very cold, only for the braves.

We (family of four, one 10, one 12 year old) stayed 2 nights at Casas Da Lapa in April 2023. The Hotel is located in a beautiful part of the Sierra da Estrella region, and located in a tiny village clinging to the hillside. We had a very nice, warm welcome, and the Hotel itself is very well appointed. Our room was excellent, very cosy and comfortable and we were given drinks and chocolates on arrival. The Hotel is very well appointed, clean, comfortable and comes with outdoor pools (2) which in the summer would be terrific but in April were a bit too cold even for British tourists, and a small indoor pool (which you have to book in advance a slot to use, which we found a bit strange and restrictive, but it was what it was). There is also a cinema (which we never saw being used), a lounge, reading room, dining room and lots of Spa treatments we didn't use. On reflection we think the Hotel probably caters best for older tourists who will take advantage of the cinema, reading rooms, etc and who appreciate quietness and calm. Having two young kids wanting to race around and jump in pools probably didn't quite fit in to the surroundings. Having said all that, we thoroughly enjoyed our time, staff were friendly and helpful, the local loop walk was superb, and the dinner and breakfasts were fantastic. Thank you very much to the owners and staff for a very good stay. (one small tip for the Hotel - in the room it would have been great to have more hooks to hang towels and bath robes on. After a swim we had 4 wet towels, and 4 wet bath robes which we ended up having to loop around the stair rail)

Nothing really. We think the Hotel probably caters best for older tourists, rather than young kids but for a two night stay we had a very enjoyable stop over. Oh and it was strange to be telephoned in our room after midnight, waking us all up, to be asked when we would be paying our bill - never had that before!
