We arrived at 6am in desperate need of coffee. Patricia in the little breakfast nook took pity on us and let us in early. All the staff at this hotel are amazing, beautiful and friendly. We felt like family from the moment we arrived. Special mention to Patricia, I hope the hotel knows how lucky they are to have her. I'm sure she is the reason you have many returning guests. We were able to store our luggage while we went exploring for the day (on a tour Patricia sent us to) while we waited for our room to be ready. The rooms are a great size (we were ground floor towards the back). Laundry room was convenient at the back of the hotel. Fantastic location to use as your base of travel. The metro is a short walk away.

Note that the internal noise of this hotel is loud! Some sort of insulation between the first and second floors and between the rooms needs to be added. It sounded like there were clog dancing elephants in the room above us for a few nights (we had to ask reception tell them how noisy they were as they had kids that would run/stomp/jump the length of the room at random times of night). You could also very much hear entire conversations from the rooms next door. A note on the area, if you don't like the strong smell of weed the moment you leave your hotel then Hollywood is not the area for you.

Location: Hotel was a short walking distance from major tourist attractions. Staff: Extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast: Nice selection of breakfast food, plus all-day coffee. Room: Very clean, bright, and spacious.

Our stay could have been quieter if we had been given an upper-floor room, so we wouldn't hear footsteps. But that's just a minor quibble, and doesn't detract from our otherwise comfortable and restful stay at the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel.

Having seen mixed reviews of this hotel I was a little wary, however it was great! The room - yes it is old but we ( 4 adults staying 10 days) had plenty of space, a kitchen, 2 x large beds and it was clean. The shower was pretty good - a little temperamental hot/cold but overall pretty good. We were on the first floor and no, the building doesn't have a lift, but it didn't bother us at all! Location - very central and a good spot to base from. Just like most of the area in LA you don't want to walk around much at night off the main strip but daytime no problems at all. Free breakfast - Basic yes, but FREE! Toast, waffles. cereal and tinned fruit with tea/coffee or juice - a perfectly good breakfast. We don't do hot breakfasts as a family so it was perfect for us, and the ladies making the waffles were lovely - when she heard our accent she whipped out her secret jar of vegemite for us! Such a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. Staff - FANTASTIC! All of the staff were so lovely and couldn't do enough for you. They went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable and make sure we had everything we needed. Mr Ifti- the driver- was great too. We had him take us to Disneyland and he was lovely, chatty and a great guide for the trip. Honestly I feel that some of the review I had read were very unfair and reflect more on the person that wrote them than the hotel. You do get what you pay for and in this case I feel maybe even better than what we paid for!

Of course some modernisation would raise the rating for the hotel, mainly the bathroom, but overall no real negatives.

The lady organizing the breakfast was very friendly every day and she remembered our preferences. Great location. Quiet. Family suite was nice.

Room heater was extremely loud, you can not use it during the night.

Our first time in the US – and we were thrilled! This was our first time visiting the USA, and I was absolutely delighted with our stay! The room was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. I have allergies and eczema, so I was a bit worried at first – but I felt great during our entire stay, which means the room really must have been spotless! ;) Breakfast was more than enough: there were different kinds of bagels with cream cheese or butter, muffins, cereal, juice, tea, and coffee – as much as you wanted. The lovely lady at breakfast, Patricia, was honestly the highlight of our mornings! Such a kind and warm person – we looked forward to seeing her every day. In general, the entire hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome and comfortable. If we ever come back to Hollywood, we would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat! The location was amazing too – just a 5-minute walk from the Walk of Fame.

We stayed here for two nights following a Pacific Coast Cruise from Vancouver. We were looking for a comfortable hotel near many of LA's attractions. The Hollywood Celebrity Hotel met these criteria and more. Located on a short, quiet street just around the corner from Hollywood Blvd, the hotel is a real gem. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The building in old, but well maintained. Patricia, who serves up a delicious continental breakfast, deserves special recognition. Her smile and pleasant personality made us feel right at home. Perhaps the greatest asset at the hotel is their driver, Mr. Ifti. He is an absolute gem. He picked us up at the the cruise terminal, took us to the hotel, showed us the highlights of LA for a day and a half, and drove us to the airport on the third day. He was prompt, courteous, and very accommodating. We had booked an all day bus tour of the city prior to discovering Mr. Ifti. After reading the very positive comments on Trip Advisor, we contacted him through the hotel and cancelled our bus tour. It was a great decision. He made us feel at home in this large, sprawling city. We would highly recommend Mr. Ifti for a truly personal LA experience.

The location is good, it’s in a quiet lane right behind Hollywood Walk of Fame and Ovation Mall. The free breakfast was basic but the waffle served by Patricia was really good. She is a friendly and helpful staff at the dining area. There is also washer and dryer available for use with payment, $1.50 for washing detergent, $2 for each wash and dry. Parking is available for $17 per day but the lot is tight however the staff can help with parking if needed.

Encountered 2 front desk staffs in the morning who weren’t friendly or helpful. The room was quite dim more lights would be better. Outside the property has foul urine smell.

- Reception people were quite helpful and kind with us since check-in until check-out, when we needed to leave our luggages until night. Thank you so much for such kindness! - Rooms are wide, lots of space. - Breakfast was simple, but good. - Location is awesome, close to Hollywood street and the subway. It was great for us since we didn't rent a car. Also, we felt safe and secure even late night - Price was good considering the location. I would definitely stay there again someday.

- Bathroom: It's old, water pressure not good and it was quite difficult to set the temperature (only a small touch would make the water from cold to super hot) - Breakfast: it starts later than other hotels, 7h30am. Which makes the lines pretty long for waffles and no tables to seat.

The overall architecture and atmosphere of the building is comfortable. Everyone is very welcoming, friendly, and happy to help. We really liked the one day we had with the very kind personal driver Mr. Ifty and would recommend him to others who think about staying here. We managed to see so much in just one day thanks to the traffic being somewhat free. There are basic amenities offered like a washing machine and wifi. The breakfasts are good, there isn’t that much variety, but the food is filling and delicious. Miss Patricia is truly kind and makes sure you get everything you want at breakfast.

The walls are a bit thin so sound travels easily and you can hear the guests laughing or yelling
