- very clean - hotel looks/feels like freshly renovated - the bed was comfortable - in house cafe serves good coffee - very good toiletry products, like shampoo etc. - location is very convenient and very close to walk of fame - pool area looked very beatiful, but we did not spend time there - I would consider Palihotel again for a LA visit!

- just a minor thing: the valet/garage is 48$ per night, what is honestly way too much - specially if you are a hotel guest already.

This place was a gem . A retro vibe that made me feel like I was on an episode of I Love Lucy when Lucy and Rickie went to Hollywood! The staff was exceptional!

The only reason not to give it a perfect 10 was that the elevator occasionally got stuck and I had to use the stairs . Not a tremendous pain since there are only two floors .

Overall we quite liked our stay. Even some things were missing (shower products, hairdryer), they were imidiately replaced upon our request. Same thing about housekeeping, when our room wasn’t cleaned we asked, and the receptionist told us that it is upon request. Staff was helpful and kind. He put us on the daily list and it was okay. We loved the location and the design.

It is indeed an old motel with a layer of fresh paint over it.. There is room for improvement to make it feel less cheap, and much cleaner

The bed was super comfy with a relatively soft mattress, great pillows and lovely linens. The balcony was nice although the weather wasn't so great the week that I spent in LA. The staff overall was pretty friendly and the location very central to all the friends that I visited in town. The hotel was overall very quiet this time of the year.

The room layout was a bit odd and didn't provide for a place to sit at my laptop. The little sofa could probably be replaced by a tiny table with two chairs that would provide a better function. The shower had only one volume and that was pretty strong, I rather have it adjustable for quick and partial rinses. Aside from the hotel's pretty high taxes there is also a $30 a day "destination tax" that I had to pay upon departure. This made the hotel less of a bargain ... I found it odd that they don't provide a toilet brush considering that they only make up the room every other day.

We like the location a lot as it’s central to lots of things going on in Hollywood. It’s an older refurbished hotel so it’s got a real charm about it and very nicely done. Great pool area with lovely umbrellas and seating as well as balconies overlooking the pool. We really enjoy staying here. The manager Javier is great and very accommodating.

They were doing some electrical work so we are unable to use the pool. Other than that everything was great and they did give us extra drink coupons and free parking to accommodate the inconvenience of not having the pool. The manager Javier was wonderful.

This place has really nice, comfortable and updated/modern decor. The front desk person was very friendly and professional. We were very pleased that our room included nice robes and was clean.

Unfortunately our room was right next to a staircase so our room was not as quiet as we'd like. Some people were going up and down at 3 am. When we came to take a nap during the day, we could hear the housekeeper's vacuum upstairs like it was right on top of us. Our (adult) daughter's room was right next to the public bathroom and the security door and she could hear people coming and going so that her room was also not quiet. We paid quite a lot for these rooms, so that was disappointing. These rooms should be significantly discounted. Lastly - Our daughter said that her room was clean except for the floor was a bit dirty.

Exceptional staff; very friendly and attentive. The property is well maintained and very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Upon arrival we found that there was an issue with the tv. Maintanence arrived promptly and could not resolve the issue, however the front desk quickly offered to move our room and we were delighted to find that we were offered a much larger corner balcony room. This was very appreciated and is just one example of the great staff. I also need to acknowledge the pool attendants and bar staff as they were excellent.

The walls are quite thin so noise from outside or from other rooms can be heard easily. Only valet parking is available so the price is very high, however this is stated prior to booking and it is expected given the location.

Good location for Hollywood Boulevard, Chinese theatre etc. Big Bus tours and public transport links. Decent pool area for party people. Spacious rooms. Former motor hotel lodge which has been tastefully modernised but retains its heritage.

The walls & ceilings are on the thin side because we could hear other guests during our stay which made for an unsettled sleep. Perhaps we were just unlucky. At the room price we would have expected a bottle water each day free instead of $7 charge if you open the water that’s available. All our 5 previous hotels in California provided free water.

Very stylish and clean hotel. Pool area was lovely and the view of it was great from the room. I think these rooms are slightly bigger than the standard room, and the size of it felt just right. If it was any smaller I think I would have struggled. Loved the value for money, being so close to Hollywood and other tourist locations. The rooms are lovely, beds are super comfortable and the features in the bedroom are great, including a kettle and coffee machine. Their coffee at the cafe is also very good. I accidentally spilt mine and the server kindly gave me another one free of charge.

Some of the staff that served us seemed quite indifferent, almost borderline rude. Others were much friendlier. Parking is an extra $40-50 a day which I thought was very expensive, almost put me off renting a car which is a must in LA. The shower could have been better
