The people there is super nice, always welcoming. The breakfast is rich and various. Position is great to explore the island in each direction (rental car is a good solution). The suite room, even is a bit more expensive, is very well equipped.

I do not recommend the rooms on the moto'otua street, as they are facing a gym that has music from 5.00 am to late in the night, and a strong light all night long that curtains do not shade. Music is not very loud, you can use ear plugs, but it can break the magic especially if you try to relax a bit in the day.

My husband, six year-old & I stayed here for three nights. Loved the hospitality from the staff. Breakfast every morning was always DELICIOUS & beautifully presented. Loved that we could also use the kitchen facilities to cook in or heat up food that we bought locally. I wasn't a fan of the communal bathroom at first, but it eventually grew on me. It was always clean which was a positive. Not having air con in the room was the only let down for me as the ceiling fan & 2 pedestal fans were just circulating the warm air around the room. Other than that, was such a beautiful place to stay at & really convenient & close to town which was good. Definitely recommend Outrigger Hotel to everyone wanting to experience a bit of the Island way of living as they also have a few fale samoas you could book too, which were also very well presented. Look forward to my next trip over & booking again with Outrigger.

Beautiful place and garden. Very well taken care of and the staff are all friendly. They let me keep my bag in the reception while I was deciding what my next plans were. There’s a very nice massage place called Touch of Samoa just 400 meters up the road along with a lovely deli too.

The tile floor near the pool is extremely slippery when wet. Breakfast could improve a bit. No hooks or small rack in shower area to rest soap or hang clothes. It’s extremely simple to just add a few nails to hang clothing. Also add those same nails in the Fale’s to hang towels etc would be very helpful

Outrigger offered incredible value for money and was perfect for our family booking of 11. They thoughtfully arranged our rooms next to each other, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The poolside breakfast had a range of food so set us up for the day. Both the room and pool were clean and well-maintained and the fale and tropical gardens create a little paradise. We loved spending evenings in the lounge, an old colonial building adorned with beautiful art and portraits, full of character and charm. The central location made it a quick drive to town and within walking distance of shops, Pickled Lam Café, and Giordano’s Restaurant. The spacious rooms featured a little courtyard and a lovely garden, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally helpful, allowing us to leave our bags after checkout so we didn’t have to keep them in the car while climbing Mt. Vaea.

The hotel is on Cross Island Road, which can be busy and you can sometimes hear traffic and dogs at night, but this is also the reality of central Apia, so we got the full experience.

It’s a pretty place. It somehow has a calm vibe and the fales are nicely arranged around the garden. The pool was nice to cool off in. I was able to check in/out at very unsociable hours and people were on hand to support this. Kind staff. Plenty of parking, took around 40 mins to get to the airport. I actually stayed twice in the end.

I did find quite a few bugs in the downstairs shower rooms (think, slugs after rain) but the inside one upstairs did not have this problem, at least that I saw after a full day of rain. Not the hotels fault but there were so many dogs barking in the night, and traffic was busy whilst I was trying to sleep for an early morning flight. Charging ports are far from the bed, again this was only a concern for me as I was anxious with the phone (my alarm) so far from my pillow that I’d maybe sleep through my alarm and consequently miss my flight.

The Samoan outrigger was the perfect base for exploring Upolu. The staff were very friendly and always checking in to make sure things were to our liking. The garden fale was excellent and we fit 3 adults in comfortably (albeit with less room for luggage but that is to be expected). Breakfast each morning was great and featured a variety of different local specialities + crowd favourites. The kitchen had lots of options to allow you to prepare your own meals too. It was walking distance to some great restaurants and some supermarkets and only a short drive to the foreshore.

The hot water did run out later in the evening in the shared bathroom facilities.

The staff. The ladies here are so attentive & hospitable. They were always checking in to see if we were ok & if we needed anything. I also needed to get my laundry done & the lovely staff member offered to do it. The staff make this place attractive. Thank you ladies. Breakfast is fresh off the oven & probably the best breakfast I’ve had from any hotel. The pool is also great. Very close to everything. Didn’t realise they had a family ensuite but they do. I extended my stay & ended up on the family ensuite. Was perfect for the kids & I. Just need an aircon added to the room and it’ll 110%. It comes with fans though which is fine.

Breakfast was tasty, varied, well presented and filling. For dinner I took myself to nearby eateries, as suggested by staff. Both establishments were very satisfactory. A walk into Apia took me 20 minutes, a cab fare was 5 Tala. I liked the reception area of the Samoan Outrigger, a nicely appointed airy room with some antique furnishings and old photographs on the wall. The garden and pool area were pleasant locations to relax in.

The only aspect which could have been better was the information about transport costs provided by the receptionist. She twice quoted me a higher fare from the hotel to another accommodation provider and from the hotel to the airport. I paid the higher fare in the first instance, but got better information from other people for the airport transfer and thus paid a lot less. I don’t know if this was due to lack of information from her side or deliberate!

My stay was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I checked in, the staff were incredibly warm and helpful, making me feel right at home. The room was clean and well-maintained, with all the comforts I needed for a relaxing stay. The location was perfect, with easy access to local attractions. I truly felt like I got great value for the money spent—everything exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for outstanding service, comfort, and a seamless experience.
