The place is stunning, restaurant, pool/lounge area and general premises, all surrounded by gorgeous jungle and wildlife (was surprised to see so many sloths close by). Such a great vibe the entire day with the best music playlist. The food and the staff are fantastic! I think it's Nando who makes the cocktails - they are top-notch and he gives you service with a smile. I was blown away by how kind everyone is and how much they make you feel at home. We did a jungle hike to a beautiful beach (lead by volunteer Serena who did a great job and pointed out some cool spiders and the little red frogs). Adele was another an amazing volunteer. Marco, Sebas, Joanna, Victor, etc. the list goes on, everyone was incredible and made us never want to leave! I also enjoyed reading about the history of how Bambuda Lodge and Castle came to be, this made me appreciate staying there even more. It’s hard to put into words what a special place this is. Truly one of the best places we have ever stayed out of all our travels.

The view and the pool area are amazing, the restaurant/sitting area itself is also very nice. The food is very good.

The dorms are very very hot with no a/c and noisy. No running hot water. There is a 'funny' smell. ( probably from the humidity and the wood work + bad ventilation?)

We loved Bambuda Lodge, the views are incredible from the pool out to the sea. It is a sociable hostel without being too noisy. The family dinner each night is great to bring everyone together and all the food was delicious with lots of veggie options. Our bathroom looked out into the jungle which was very cool to hear all the wildlife at night. All the staff were very helpful and kind. Cannot recommend it enough.

Breakfast was quite expensive and there is no kitchen to cook your own meals so the bar bill racks up quite quickly as there are no other food options on the island.

Great vibes! Comfortable common areas including the deck, pool and yoga spaces, very comfy hammocks. The property is beautiful. Great chances to spot wildlife, amazing trees and plants all around. Drinks and food were good, appreciated the vegan options and enjoyed especially the smoothie bowl and carribean bowl. Appreciated the family dinner concept and social activities offered including the welcome drink to connect with other guests. Lovely and helpful staff and volunteers too, enjoyed the jungle hike and swim guided by Mary and the welcome drink and karaoke with Victor. Liked that they provide an extra beach towel free of charge.

Cleanliness in the dorm and bathroom could be better, another shower for the dorms wouldn't hurt. I guess if you stay longer and do lots of trips to other islands the water taxi costs can add up.

The location on the island with proximity to animals like sloths, the pool area and food was good, and the staff was very friendly.

The room and basic services. Thus, if you have a problem at night, you’re on your own. We had a problem with our key and couldn’t access our room. There was nobody at the reception (staff doesn’t seem to live on premises), WiFi is down at night so we couldn’t contact the WhatsApp number provided, we knocked on the volunteers’ dorm room but nobody answered. In the end, we slept outside and fixed our problem in the morning. No compensation was offered when we explained the problem. I’d suggest if there no staff on premises to at least add an emergency number at the reception.

This place is exceptional in every way: the staff, the food, location, everything. They do a "jungle hike" daily led by the volunteers, and there's a giant water slide that's also super fun. The best part, though, is the food. They have a chef that creates incredible meals for a very reasonable price. Special thank you to staff members Melanie, Francisco, Dani and Sebastian; volunteers Selina and Justine for leading our jungle hike, and Elion for his great service and conversations. Keep in mind this is an ecolodge, so it doesn't have AC. That may be a deal breaker for some, especially depending on the time of year you visit.

Bambuda Lodge is a fantastic place to stay. A special shoutout to Sheri for making the meanest and most delicious cocktails, she is a gem. The staff not only organizes tours but also makes it very easy for solo travelers to connect by hosting social events. When I visited, it was more on the younger and social side compared to some other Bambuda locations. The views are stunning, but what really struck me was the beauty of the jungle huts, which give a high-quality hotel feel right in the middle of nature. Volunteers make sure you are entertained and always have activities to join. Highly recommend and a million thanks to the Bambuda Lodge teams for making this a beautiful stay!

Absolutely stunning location! The pool and deck area were the perfect spots to relax and unwind. We especially loved having access to stand-up paddle boards and kayaks which was such a huge bonus, especially since the property is a bit more secluded from the rest of Bocas. Having these complimentary activities made a big difference. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming - a special shoutout to Melanie (mi amor), Shary, and Sebastian, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. We absolutely loved it!

Bit of construction happening as outlined when booking - didn’t cause too much disturbance and I know it will make the property even more lovely when finished.

The staff is awesome. Super friendly permanent staff who remembers your name everyday immediately after you check in. Cheri is the best and with. Warm heart and smile. Mathilde and Piedro on the staff were super fun and made the hike excursion memorable and thrilling. You can meet fellow travelers very easily in the pool and the deck area and then everyone eats together at the same time up at the common dining area. Then you can stay to converse or participate in their nightly themed events. If you want to read a book and relax in solitude, you will a spot for you as well.

No A/c in my room. But everyone gets personal fans over their beds which worked out fine.

Bambuda Lodge was a great place to go and relax for a couple of days. The room was incredibly comfortable, even though there was no air conditioning, every bed had 2 fans, and that was plenty to keep you fresh at night. The place is super quiet at night as well, so you can rest peacefully, as there are no closed windows in the rooms, only insect nets. You wake up with the sounds of the jungle, and that is priceless. The pool, the restaurant and the views were amazing too. Would definitely recommend.

We got a lot of insect bites due to its location, but that is not the property´s fault.
