Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, especially when our shipped skis failed to arrive—they were able to contact the local delivery office and track them down in time for the second day of skiing. Fantastic access to Hanazono lifts. Hotel runs a shuttle in the morning and afternoon, and is a 10 minute walk otherwise. We had the hotel dinner one night, which was tasty and a quite vast amount of food. Second floor room with private bath was very comfortable. Breakfasts were not exciting but were adequate; last day was Japanese-style breakfast which was a nice surprise.

Location is more remote than it might seem, in hindsight we would have gotten groceries en route to be able to prepare some of our own meals. Some rooms have fridges, our two did not (used nature’s fridge, i.e. a plastic bag hanging out the window). Basement room with shared bath was a bit musty-smelling and shared shower and toilets were grim. If we had not had access to the private shower in our family's other room, it would have been a less pleasant experience. Be sure to look into the free Hanazono shuttle loop, which stops at the back of the Park Hyatt. We discovered it accidentally on our way back to the airport, as it’s not part of hotel’s information or the resort transportation summary. Goes to Hirafu Welcome Center and a few other stops along the way.

A Lovely lounge with a fire place to relax in, great cooked breakfast, and hot spa bath. The freedom Inn is the perfect location. Close to the Hanazono lift and a short drive to Kutchen. However, the staff here were really amazing and made all the difference. There is a free shuttle to and from the lift and also into town. Always available on the phone to help out. When our train was stopped due heavy snow, the owner, Cliff, went out of his way to drive to our station and pick us up. Outstanding!! We will definitely be coming back!

This place has a very safe and relaxing atmosphere. Very helpful staff. There is nothing negative I can say about it.

Great location just a 10 min walk to Hanazono lift and staff do shuttles there and back everyday. Cooked breakfast in the morning before skiing was fab, nice cosy living area with a wood fire and games, and ideal to have an onsen downstairs! The staff were all amazing and looked after me for a few days with a broken ankle. Jes, Facu and Juan were lovely.

A hidden gem. I have stayed here before and appreciate its proximity to Hanazono - an easy 5-10min walk with your ski boots on. It is outside Hirafu so is much quieter. This is a great place to stay if your focus is on skiing. Suits couples or families with children. The dedicated team provide 5 star service and help organise restaurant bookings and drop offs and pick ups from restaurants in Kutchan. They also offer a pick up and drop off to the train which is helpful as well. We also like the log fire, availability of board games, and quality dvds. The staff are very professional and knowledgeable- they know the local area, ski areas and food. Its our go to place in Niseko!

The staff were amazingly helpful and nothing was too much trouble especially lifts to the slopes and evening shuttles into town. There is a new DNS shuttle bus from New Chitose Airport to nearby Nikko Style hotel with was very convenient and the staff collected me from there.

Cliff who runs the place was proactive in asking us about our needs as a family and always ready with useful advice, helpful restaurant bookings and generally a helping hand. The Japanese styled tatami and beds room we stayed in was in the ground level below the lobby. The views from both the bedroom windows and the breakfast/meals area are gorgeous and we enjoyed spying on two wood peckers flitting around the snow covered trees. The location is a very walkable seven or so minutes from the Hanazono 308 area.

You have to adjust your expectations for the age of the property. The halls are in heated and it can be chilly in the morning getting to the bathroom and toilets if you don’t have them ensuite. These aren’t negatives about the property itself since there are rooms with such facilities.

Everything was perfect - I stayed there for three days/two nights and wish I could have spent more time. The inn is lovely, with European/mountain style decoration, slippers available for the guests, and a very homely feeling. My room was very spacious as well. I enjoyed reading books by the fire in the evening and having a copious breakfast every morning while watching the snow fall on the trees outside. The staff members were friendly and helpful: they picked me up from the train station, drove to and from the ski rental shop and the ski lifts every day upon request, ordered and picked up takeaway food for me to eat at the hotel one evening and drove me to a restaurant in Kutchan the next evening. I am counting the days until I go back!

Being a short walk from Hanazono was a major highlight for maximum time on the mountain. Cliff and the staff were so attentive, friendly, and helpful to ensure we knew exactly where to go, what to do, and how to make the most of our time on the slopes. Superb value for money, especially considering the Park Hyatt was a stone’s throw away for 10x the price. Will definitely return and recommend to friends.

On-site food choices are limited to breakfast and Shabu Shabu or Sukiyaki for dinner, but that’s not a negative considering the free shuttle service into town and most of the time is spent outside in the snow anyway.

I loved the classic feel of the inn, and the staff were all great, especially Kyle who went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant experience.

I felt that the price was a little higher than I would have liked to have paid for the level of accommodations we had, but I would be willing to stay there again all things considered.
