Superb location right on the beach. Some of the older rooms are pretty tired, but they are cheaper than the new rooms, fair enough! The AC was good, beds were perfectly clean and comfortable, and the wifi was pretty reliable. The (relatively new?) Rumor Beach Bar is within the hotel grounds and does beers, coffees, and lots of cocktails. The Hotel is situated towards the east end of the beach - this is great because the west part of the beach is not safe for swimming. Loads of really good beach restaurants are just moments away, along with Smoke & Bitters the celebrated high-end cocktail bar / restaurant.

No WIFI in rooms, which they dont mention in the booking. WIFI available only in some parts of the common areas in the hotel, still very bad Rooms were very clean, still many aunts around and the fridge, even though it was clean, it was old and yellowish, which make it disgusting to put food in it

It's the perfect place to stay! 3 minutes by tuktuk or scooter to Hiriketiya, you have a vast private beach to yourself, with the most amazing sunsets and perfect double bed sunbeds on the beach with plenty of shade. Those sunbeds are so good, we almost didn't want to get up and go to gorgeous Hiriketiya to eat / surf / swim. We booked for 2 nights and eventually stayed for 6. These are the kind of places you dream about when you think about the tropics: Not too much unnecessary luxury, but still a nice clean room, with a balcony overlooking the sea, good AC, decent shower, clean sheets, right on the beach (don't forget the beach bar of course), nice staff, and all this for such a low price!!! Amazing value.

Make sure you book the better rooms, with the sea view. They are much better, not only because of the view. The part without sea view is older and the shower isn't good. I would still stay there though! For us It was still worth it for the perfect location. But if a good room is important to you, then you need the new part of the hotel, facing the sea.

Amazing location, very tasty food.We stayed there a year ago and had a room on the ground floor.This year we stayed on the first floor and it was much better and more bright. Very friendly owner and staff.Nice breakfast.Quiet and the location is perfect, beach front.Near all the restaurants and Hiriketiya beach is just 15 minutes walking distance. Sun beds available in front of the hotel otherwise there’s a lot of other options since the beach is really long.

The only downside in our bathroom was very low water pressure.Other than that everything was pretty good

Breakfast was not included, but we always ate at the hotel. One of the best breakfast of Sri Lanka (at least on our jurney). We also tried a fwe lunch/dinner options and I have to say - they were quite good. The hotel is on a quiet beach Dickwella, but the noisy and livley Hirikiteya beach is only a short distance away (15 minutes walking). We loved the surfing there, but the beach is quite crwded and small so we loved ours a lot more. The Dickwella beach is big and uncrowded and we loved the combo of the two. ALso on Dickwella is the wonderfull restaurant Smoke and bitters - the one place where is worth to go all in - the food is amazing. Book a table - you will not be sorry. The service is really quick too.

It takes at least 45 minutes to get the food, but it is well wroth the wait. Also it is simmilar all over Sri Lanka, so you get used to it.

I only spent one night here but the staff were kind, breakfast was good, and the room was very clean with AC and what looked like new tiles in the bathroom. The price was also very reasonable. The location is steps from Dickwella beach and also waking distance to the bus stop to continue on with your travels. I had a very comfortable stay, thank you.

I had no issues but as some reviews have said, there is no swimming pool but there is one in the photos. Maybe the hole could remove the photos if they are misleading. But no problem for me, just swim in the ocean.

The location is amazing. It is a 15/20 min stroll into the Hirikitiya area with the more touristy restaurants and bars but sits on a large and beautiful section on the beach with so much space. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much but also relaxed and not in your face. The food was exceptional, full of flavour and great Sri Lankan options for any time of the day. I didn’t want to leave!

The rooms are not as well appointed as some of the places we’ve stayed on the trip (no TV, or drinks making) but for this price point are great value for money! They are clean with nice furnishings.

Great location. Super friendly and helpful staff. They let us book in early as we needed to leave our previous lodgings due to bad experience. They made us feel welcome and served up a delicious SriLanka breakfast that instantly erased our bad night from our previous accommodation. It’s just a short walk to all the swimming beach and right in town if you need to go there. Even though we were in town I didn’t hear any traffic noise.

As our booking was last minute breakfast wasn’t included. Lots of mosquitoes this isn’t an issue if you Make sure you spray your room out before sleeping.

the hotel is located on a wide beach, in a quiet bay, which is its greatest asset. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly and smiling. Tasty breakfasts and dinners, delicious drinks from the beach bar. The rooms had a beautiful view of the sea. The standard in the rooms was unfortunately quite low, but it did not bother us, because we spent the whole day visiting the nearby beaches.

Dickwella Beach hotel is a beautiful hotel right on one of the best beaches on the southern coast—a wide bay with beautiful white soft sand. The hotel has a beautiful view and lots of comfy sun beds and chairs on the beach, with plenty of shade from the palm trees. I stayed in a room with a seaview and it was incredible. My balcony overlooked the water and the sound of the waves at night was so soothing. The breakfast is very yummy as well. I will stay here again next time I'm in Dickwellla.
