Checking in was also easy when we requested an extended stay, which was easily managed: the bed was comfortable, and there was good storage capacity, with a wardrobe and cupboards available. The staff was prepared to listen to requests. The excellent location is easy walking distance to most attractions. Also, staff are more than happy to organise transport if requested. The decor also gave it a unique personality.

The reliability of the internet connection could be frustrating at times, but this depended on where in the building you were trying to access it. It's not an issue for me, but if you're coming by car, I would recommend contacting them in advance to organise parking.

1. Location : Located roughly 200m from the Rock Beach, tucked in a peaceful street where one would love to relax after a hectic day of travel. Ashram is 400m from the place and major places of attractions and restaurants are within a radius of 1-1.5kms max ! 2. Rooms : Rooms are good enough for 2 adults . Opt for the rooms with Balcony and enjoy the silence of the street in the evening after a day of travel. Not well lit and this will be an issue for elders. The only issue I faced here as I travelled with my mother. 3. Breakfast : Complementary breakfast is available at the dining room - South Indian spread . Decent if not great. Both days we had breakfast at the hotel as my mother loved the spread. 4. Easy check in and check out. Daniel ( Manager) is always there to help with anything you require during the stay. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for 2-3 nights if you are planning to stay near the beach as well as want to enjoy the peaceful nights of Pondicherry. This is an ideal choice .

Please provide room slippers. Not everyone carries them. Room floors were slightly dirty.

Perfect place to stay in Pondicherry, excellent location close to restaurants, galleries, beach. Atmospheric European style hotel (this means, yes, tight on space) with a very comfortable bed. Good balcony though oriented to the sun in summer, good early and late. Very good South Indian breakfast. Excellent value.

The lift wasn’t working initially but the staff lifted our heavy bags three floors. It would be nice if there could be stronger window coverings for the doors as the hall and city lights can be distracting for sleep. A stronger reading light would be helpful, but picking up on other reviews about dimness, the lighting is appropriate to the room so if they address this I hope it’s not at the expense of the current lighting.

We had a deluxe room with balcony facing the road. A good size clean bedroom with a/c and ceiling fan. Bathroom was also clean with a good shower. Excellent location within a few minutes walk to most of the popular tourist attractions including Rock beach and French colony. Good breakfast with local dishes as well as eggs and toast. A homely hotel and would recommend.

Noisy in the evenings and especially barking dogs during nighttime.

The couple in the guest house who served breakfast were extremely friendly and kind. In addition to Indian breakfast they made omelette and toast for me. They remembered how we like our tea. The guest house is ideally placed for walking down the promenade or the French streets as well as the busier places.

The room can be noisy at bedtime with dogs barking but we managed to sleep well anyway.

My recent one-night stay at 19VillaMira in Pondicherry's White Town, a first-time visit to the French Quarter, left me with mixed feelings. The room, situated in what was described as a heritage house, was satisfactory but didn't quite live up to the expectations set by the advertisement. It seems that all the houses in the French Quarter may share similar characteristics. However, I was disappointed to find no fridge in the room, and the locker provided didn't work. The bathroom was acceptable, though the amenities provided were rather basic. Additionally, my room lacked a window on the 3rd floor, room 303. In terms of breakfast, it was adequate but nothing remarkable. However, where 19VillaMira truly shines is in its staff. Gopinath, in particular, deserves special mention for his exceptional service. He went above and beyond to assist us, even securing a bike rental for us at a better rate. His helpful and friendly demeanour truly enhanced our stay, earning him a well-deserved five-star rating. I would also like to commend Muthu, who was equally accommodating and attentive during our interactions in the evening. Overall, while the accommodation at 19VillaMira may have had its shortcomings, the standout service provided by staff members like Gopinath and Muthu made the experience memorable and enjoyable.

While my stay at 19VillaMira was generally satisfactory, there are areas where the hotel could improve to enhance the guest experience. Firstly, addressing the issues with room amenities, such as the non-functional locker and the absence of a fridge, could significantly improve comfort levels. Additionally, considering the heritage nature of the property, maintenance and upkeep could be prioritized to ensure that guests receive the full benefit of staying in a historic location. Introducing more variety and quality to the breakfast offerings could elevate the dining experience while adding windows in all rooms could enhance the ambience and sense of space. Focusing on these aspects could further boost guest satisfaction at 19VillaMira.

Location easy accessibility to the beach and other attractions. There is a good selection of restaurants in the surrounding area. Comfortable room regarding bedding, the bathroom was functional, and the balcony was useable until the blistering sun came out. The staff is hospitable when you communicate your expectations and needs with them. Good size workstation.

Internet performance was variable, creating high levels of frustration at times.

Great location on quiet street on north side of French Quarter, just a block or two to beach and car free promenade. Owner and family were so kind and friendly, with delicious breakfasts and help arranging good onward transport. We were upgraded to larger suite room which was nice and spacious, quiet, cool, and comfortable.

Great heritage building, with nice furniture and bed, but pillows were very hard foam. Door covering could be darker as we added our own to keep out hall light. A water dispenser in lieu of plastic water bottles in room is always appreciated.

Our entire accomodation experience was awesome. Hotel is maintained well with lot of cleanliness and no issues inside room or area. Staffs are also very polite and made our stay lively without any hustle. I definitely recommend this stay always.

Clean, beautifully decorated rooms. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast simple but tasty. Great location for the beachfront. Lots of nice restaurants within easy walking distance. We had a balcony room which we used in the afternoon/ evening which was lovely.
