Paradise! Lovely large villa with excellent beach / sea views and access. Exceptionally clean and housekeeping were amazing. Beautiful beach with some sunbeds. Breakfast amazing! Selection of fruit the best we had !

We loved everything but a few suggestions to enhance the experience: Not enough sunbeds on the beach but any more would probably spoil the ambiance. People reserved sunbeds as early as 7.00am but didn’t use them most of the day. People not staying at hotel also using beach sunbeds. Use the outdoor space on the beach for a sunset bar or outdoor eating …bbq at night would be fun. Lightweight robes in the room instead of heavy / hot robes! Something to sit on in the room (even just a comfy chair) Breakfast buffet amazing but hinged lids on the fruit would have worked better!

We liked how cleans everything was, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The sea view is amazing and relaxing. The food was great. The wifi worked well. We got the chance to really disconnect and enjoy the facilities. The waiters at the restaurant, the chefs and the bartenders were kind and welcoming.

We didn’t like how overpriced everything was. For all activities we could find lower prices everywhere if we looked around the resort and in the villages. For some activities, the hotel increased the price by 50%. We were disappointed to learn that we were overcharged. Also, we were not satisfied with the management team. For activities, we barely got any information (what should we expect, what equipment should we bring, how long is the tour, etc.). The team was also tolerant of questionnable behaviours by other residents ( screaming at night, littering, smoking, playing loud music, etc).

Haphazard food service - lovely waiting staff but seemingly no system around ordering.

The resort is brand new. Beds are very confortable, pool nice, the patio in front of the room very nice. The menu for lunch/diner is nice. The beach, on the other side of the road, even if it is a small road, is reasonably clean. Very nice bathroom.

There is construction work just on the other side of one of the bungalows, which started at 8AM. The furniture in the room is nice, but there are no chairs in the room, nor a small table, which would be very useful. I though that the beach would be a continuum of the resort terrace, but there is actually a sand road between the two, which changes the general atmosphere of being right on the beach.

The beach is just wonderful and the sunbeds, terraces and vibe of the place is relaxed. The staff are very kind and the managers are great at their jobs. Waiting staff are very friendly. WiFi is good around the property and on the beach. Lots of options to take paddle boards or book scooters, surfing and trips.

I would say the cleaning is average. The team are not the best / well trained and it’s a simple wipe around. That said it’s not really an issue for me, you are on the beach, there is sand everywhere anyway. The fridge didn’t work in the room, but the bar gave us ice if we wanted a cold drink. My biggest wish would be more variety on the menu, if you are staying for 5 days it’s boring. I can imagine that the western menu is good for kids. There is one good restaurant at the property next door and the rest in the small village are very basic. More of a lounging bar area would really elevate the communal spaces.

A diamond in the rough - thankful for our choice to stay at Golden Beach Resort. We purposely booked knowing we werent planning to go anywhere else. Food was terrific, staff super approachable and helpful, bed was actually soft and comfy, (SE Asia tends to be the opposite!), plenty of activities both free and at a cost and reasonably priced. Also loved the animal regulars! Will miss our new four legged friends!

Koh Rong was an effort to get to, Golden Beach Resort made it well worth the trek. However being the "off" season it was certainly quiet. Would suggest encouraging some guest to guest interaction... Board game nights during the rainy season would be a great addition given there is little to no nightlife. Also, we hired a motorbike, but lots of the roads haven't been finished and made for some unexpected (unsafe) adventures.

The hotel is relatively new and the owner was taking care of many details. The rooms are well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We had a bungalow directly at one of the pools. The staff is very friendly, helpful and they are taking very good care of the guests. The breakfast was very good as well with individual cooked omelets, fresh fruits and much more. The food at the restaurant was tasting and the BBQ at the beach, which takes place at the weekend was phenomenal. Close to the hotel is a small village with restaurants, bars, laundry services and small shops. The gym is small but has high quality equipment. We have enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave.

Absolutely a magical place to stay, water was so warm and the beach in front of resort was kept clean daily. Breakfasts Inc on our stay and was 5 star. We had lunches and dinner there too ( even though many other places to choose) and the meals were fantastic. You could hire mopeds, kayaks, paddle boats to keep busy on the water.

I probably would not have stayed more than the 5 days due to not having a great deal more to being an Island. Walking anywhere was limited, so either hire mopeds or rent a driver to see the island ( 1 day ) However if your just wanting to get away from it all and do ' nothing's it's the perfect place.

Lovely hotel and amenities, the ability to hire a bike is a great feature. The fitness centre whilst small is perfectly equipped and good for those wanting an active holiday. Food throughout was excellent, we ate almost exclusively here because the food was so good. The hotel also offers free activities for guests which is a lovely touch, we participated in the hike which was thoroughly enjoyable.

“Didn’t like” feels a bit unfair to say but I think the cleaners could have done a better job, the room felt rushed through and not the standard we received in other resorts in Cambodia. To be clear though the rooms were NOT unclean at all, this hotel is lovely but improving the effort the cleaners put in would make it phenomenal.
