My stay at Saxon Lodge was fantastic! The location offers beautiful ocean views and is just a 5-minute drive from the shark cage diving launch site, making it perfect for anyone doing the diving. The lodge is cozy, well-maintained, and has a peaceful atmosphere. The hosts were welcoming and provided excellent local recommendations. A perfect spot for anyone visiting Gansbaai—highly recommended!

Saxon Lodge was one of the best places to stay during our three week vacation in South Africa. The owners in particular were always very friendly and genuinely interested in us. We felt at home right from the start. All our questions were answered at all times. We were given an upgrade due to minor building work on our room. The location of the accommodation is perfect and the view of the harbor is magnificent. Thank you! We would stay here again at any time.

The view is amazing over looking the harbour. Sunsets over the ocean while in the pool is blissfull. Playfull dog and beautiful cat. very personable staff, namely Agnus as head of house, and Dave the owner is very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Only the couch in the room we had booked needs some repairs and maintenance.

I was made to feel so welcome from the moment I arrived by everyone and it was such a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere - nothing nicer than listening to the waves breaking especially at night. Ninja the cat also came to make sure that I had settled in properly. The breakfasts were great and the cooked breakfast arrived hot - the tea was also hot when it arrived. The Lodge is also central to everything and within easy walking distance.

Saxon Lodge is nicely located above the Gansbaai harbour and has beautiful views. Accommodation and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Caron and Dave are superb hosts - they had good recommendations during our stay.

Although for the energetic one could walk from the lodge, most attractions we found were a car ride away.

I liked the few the guest house has overlooking the sea! The swimming pool was an absolute pleasure. The room was very comfortable.

Absolutely no complaints at all, maybe just a little better communication regarding meals, etc, but not a huge problem at all.

All was splendid.. Staff hellfull and friendly. Owners made time to chat, gave information about Gansbaai, De Kelders ext activities. Very friendly.. Love our stay. See you zoooon..🙋🏼‍♀

Great location and beautiful sea views with a little seating area outside the room to enjoy the views. Karen, the owner, was extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. Bed was very comfortable and room was very clean.

The lodge is located central in Gansbaai. Good parking space and wifi is good. The hosts are amazing and will help you with everything you want like excursions. They arrange it all for you! Breakfast is good and you have a lot of options. I stayed in the Campbell room which has space and a good shower. In the neighbourhood you have small supermarkets and a few restaurants. Also one of the whale tours which I recommend is in the harbor (5min walk). In the evening you can have drinks in a nearby pub but you also can stay in the Lodge for drinks in Dave's pub, accompanied with some good stories and nice wine. Almost forgot, they have a tv room which also has a lot of channels I even could watch formula 1.

The strong wind, so prepare for a longer stay since excursions can be cancelled because of this.
