What a hidden gem, it got great reviews, but we were still very pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful, relaxing resort it was. Met our needs of being near to Stowe, Burligton, hwy, yet remote enough so that we enjoyed the solitude, peace and quiet of VT and just being together. Wonderful, clean cabin, everything was mint so perhaps it had just been renovated, or they are all just that nice. Lots of nice hiking trails, pond to boat on, pool (too chilly this time of year), game room, DVD movies, plenty to do.

My only suggestions are that they turn the boats over so they aren't soaking wet from dew and rain, and upgrade them a bit, sort of a scrappy lot. Also hated the toiletries provided, so suggest they switch to dispensers in shower with stuff that actually smelled like soap. Otherwise absolute perfection!

The cabin was beautiful, extremely comfortable for my family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teenagers ages 15,16,17), and had a fully equipped kitchen. The staff was extremely amenable and friendly. The location was excellent, near Smugglers Notch for skiing.

Staff were so lovely and the property is beautiful. 5 minute drive to town and 7 minutes to smugglers notch ski resort.

It was a beautiful cabin in the woods that felt really remote. I loved my stay there. I was there in November for the first snow fall of the season. It was magical. I had the place almost to myself.

One morning the septic tank truck cleaner came and pumped the septic tanks for hours, which really disturbed the tranquility. But i do understand that this is a necessary job. It was just unfortunate they did it early in the morning at the height of tranquility when I happened to be staying there.

loved the location of resort and the cabin was great. gave us some starting kindling for woodstove and couple logs to start. we bought couple bundles to keep it going . it snow second night was great waking up to snow. dog loved it too they provided dog bowl ,towel and a sheet for couch/bed which was great.

there was no heat in bedroom or bathroom but there was a heater in living room we cranked up to get heat through out the bedroom and living room, there was 2 fans we used to move heat through it helped a lot. living room was 64 and bedroom roughly 55-58 when we arrived we turned it up and it did get better in rooms.

The property was very well kept, the cabin was incredibly cozy as well.

Nothing comes to mind for things I didn’t like about the property.

Great location close to Smugglers Notch and lots of trails to explore!

Sterling is a great resort for families and pets. The cabins are well apportioned, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the resort is close to many activities including Smugglers Notch skiing. We - us and the dogs - had a great time morning and afternoon traipsing around the resort's trails; before and after a day of skiing.

loved that the property was very private, in a beautiful scenic location yet still close to a lot of shops and great outdoor activities. we liked the welcome packet and free bundle of firewood upon arrival as well.
