It was nicely quaint, very clean, game room, staff was really nice and the free chocolate chip cookies and brownies between 4 and 5pm! Centrally located. Nice sauna and hot tub alongside pool. Quiet places to sit around Inn. Convenient and close to room parking. And on Easter Sunday, they put out Reese’s peanut butter cup eggs! The staff was very friendly from the guy at the front desk who went out of his way to inform us of where to go for breakfast to the cleaning staff who greeted us when we would pass in halls.
Absolutely nothing…loved our stay and would recommend to family and friends visiting Stowe, VT!

Tea, hot cider and cookies (inc. GF brownies!) served late afternoon was a treat. With the snow outside, it felt just perfect being in a quisesential Vermont Inn. Our room, including the beds and sitting chairs was very comfortable. Location was perfect, right in the middle of town. Front desk and cleaning staff were great and friendly. The gym was fine for a hotel gym. The best part was a very pretty and nice jacuzzi that our family really enjoyed, followed with a great sauna!
It may have been temporary, but the elevator was not in order, so schlepping suitcases to upper floor, especially in snow, wasn't the best. Breakfast is served but we felt it was quite expensive. It would be nice if they offered and breakfast included / discounted for guests.

Lovely historic building with modern conveniences, cozy and welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful and adorable decor, extremely kind and helpful staff, DIVINE fireplace in my room, swoon-worthy outdoor heated pool and hot tub, in an unbeatable location! I can't say enough good things about this picturesque inn right in the heart of Stowe Village, walking distance to restaurants, galleries, shops, a library and museums, and a beautiful walking/x-country skiing trail.
The temperature of the pool and hot tub was variable--perfectly hot on one night and cool/lukewarm on the other. I also encountered some variability with the hot water in my shower, but staff were very prompt in responding to the issue.

What a well-appointed hotel that meets all your needs if you are a party of one, a couple, or a family. They have a wonderful on-site restaurant, the Whip, spa treatments, heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi, cozy fireplace area, indoor jacuzzi and steam room, gym, and game room. On top of that, they are situated in the middle of town, which allows you to walk to all. Our king room had a wonderful, relaxing jacuzzi tub. Find fabulous souvenirs, culinary treats, spa bath soaps, and pet goodies all at Stowe Mercantile ..
Our room was in an outbuilding and located by the front door, which slammed shut loudly at all hours of day or night.

It's 28 minutes on the bus from Stowe Mountain resort, but it is very safe walking distance to different eateries with different price points. You don't feel captive or car-dependent as you do in other places at Stowe. I was so grateful that they let me shower in their gym after checking out and after a day shredding on the mountain. Their weights are power systems hexagonal dumbbells, which are great because it can allow you to do plank shoulder taps and other balancing weight exercises. I was also super appreciative of the hot, lukewarm, and cold water dispenser that was available at all hours. Breakfast looks great and they start serving at 7. If you're not a snowboarder or skier, there are lovely shoveled walks that you can do in the winter. The place has charming nooks throughout the property. The classic queen has a standard tub--so great to have a soak after a cold and active day! It was quiet--other guests respect the need to sleep deeply! And the room was sufficiently dark for sleeping, even though it was a 'city view.'
I wish they started serving breakfast at 6am on days when the mountain is open at 8am. To get first chair on the days they open at 8am, you have to get the 7:24 bus. They have to go breakfast sandwiches ready for pick up, so you can eat while waiting for the bus (trash cans conveniently by the bus stop). The elevator was out of order, which was challenging for my tired knees.

Beautiful location, lots of nice little shops in the village area
We stayed at the green mountain during Halloween, and the hotel let the trick or treaters park in the hotel parking lot therefore my husband and I drove around for 35 minutes looking for parking, we were told by hotel staff we would have to park down the road and walk back to the hotel or wait until the event was over and parking freed up. We found that kind of rude and not very respectful of the people that paid money to stay at the hotel. It should have been reserved for the hotel guests not for the trick or treaters.

Loved the temperature of the pool and the hot tub. Enjoyed the fire pit. The restaurant food and service was very good. Our server Linda had a good energy! My room was on the ground level and the pool and hot tub was right outside the door. So I loved that. The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the bathrobes, especially for going outside in the hot tub. Location was fantastic, with so many shops nearby.
The bed was squeaky. The water pressure on the shower head could have been better. Don't love having to walk outside to get to the main lodging area, especially when it is cold outside. Would prefer the fire pit, pool and hot tub outside to be open later.

It’s so comfortable.our room was huge, had a fireplace, had everything we could want. The restaurant is excellent and the staff are charming; the small details are thought about and it’s a lovely place to stay.
It’s our third trip….. I still love it. I have to admit that on our previous trips we stayed in the original house which I so loved, and the hotel has got much bigger and lost some of its old-worlde Christmas movie charm in the process. I missed the old reception desk, and the facade of the hotel has changed quite a lot too, with its new closed in porches for the breakfast room. HOWEVER, that is no more than a regret for times past. The hotel remains a wonderful place to stay, helped by its charming staff, its great food and its traditional charm.

The room was really nice, but a little small. I may be wrong but I think we'd booked a suite, and the assigned room was a little small for comfort. The inn was clean and very attractive, nicely situated and in beautiful surroundings. There was plenty of parking. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were generally fun and friendly. They also do a free tea and cookies hour, which we only attended once due to touring, but it was very nice and the cookies were good.
The inn's restaurant was something they mentioned to us a lot while the date of our stay approached - I think they sent three messages about it. The restaurant however was very bad, with poor quality food, especially for the relatively high price. Fortunately there were plenty of other excellent places to eat in Stowe. When we were checking out, we got a call asking us when we would be out of our room, at 10:55 when checkout is at 11. I appreciate we were approaching checkout time, but we hadn't yet passed it, and I've never had this happen at any other hotel - a call asking if I was leaving BEFORE checkout time had arrived. It slightly marred the otherwise nice experience, and as I said - the staff were generally lovely, so I am not sure why this happened.

The hotel lobby, restaurants, and sitting areas are cozy and inviting. The staff, especially the front desk and servers, were incredibly friendly and welcoming—they truly made our stay exceptional. Everyone was so kind, and we genuinely felt that they cared about their guests and their experience. We also appreciated thoughtful touches like the S’mores kit for the fire pit. Those little details made our stay feel even more special.
The room itself felt a bit old. I know that’s part of the charm, but it seemed like it could use a refresh.
