Don greeted you, gave you the tour, made you feel like he was opening up his home to you, which he is proud of. I only saw butterscotch on the last day, he did not greet us as well. There were nice touches like water in the room, a coffee maker from tschibo, (espresso, dbl, americano... all fresh ground and pressed. There was some candy around, cmon when you are doing outdoor activities you can indulge. plus a baked good was put out in the evening. The breakfasts were tasty and not overly indulgent, cmon you can't be active when your bloated..

I loved everything about the Brass Lantern Inn. The staff were so welcoming and the location is gorgeous. There are lots of places to just sit and stare at the beautiful landscape - inside, outside or from the hot tub. The Inn is located close enough to Stowe town to be near the action, but far enough out that you avoid the traffic congestion. The breakfast was amazing and the surprise afternoon snack was always super tasty. The bed was insanely comfortable and I also loved loved loved the white noise machine. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Absolutely nothing

This wonderful inn has lovely views of Mt. Mansfield across their beautiful lawn (with bonus cute chickens and geese to admire). All available to guests: a large living room, library, an electronic game table for kids with a bar for adults, as well as a front sunporch and a back porch with the Mt. Mansfield view. The room was extremely well appointed, with many extras for comfort and convenience (e.g., hairdryer, shampoo conditioner and body wash within the shower in dispensers for zero waste, Brita pitcher, white noise machine, champlain chocolates on my pillow). So many thoughtful touches. NOW THE FOOD -- delicious very high quality coffee and tea available around the clock! and such an amazing locally sourced breakfast. The value of this place is beyond!! Friendly hosts with just the right helpful, but unobtrusive style.

We loved the very kind and friendly hosts, the super cute and cozy environment, the great amenities such as the availability of jacuzzi and board games, the delicious breakfast and coffee and tea options! In general, it felt like we were part of a home with the best hosts ever! I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family! Do not miss it!

I guess that if someone doesn't have a car, it might be hard to go to the town center or the ski resort, but with a car everything was very close. Other than that, I can't think of anything else! We loved everything!!

Very spacious area downstairs for breakfast and sitting with comfortable chairs and access to t v , this was fortunate as rooms were small. Breakfast from a varied set menu. Coffee fantastic. Large shared fridge available with labels to id items.Nice gardens and use of BBQ was great and owner provided all that was required to cook food bought in supermarket next door. Nice gesture was provision of home baked cakes for guests in afternoon and early evening.

Rooms were very small . Large comfortable bed occupied almost all the space. With 2 suitcases we did hit legs etc as we tried to negotiate the narrow access to very clean and well maintained toilet and shower area. Apart from this it was perfect.

The Brass Lantern Inn was wonderful! Everything was immaculately clean, the owners were very friendly and personable, and the common areas were so cute and nice to enjoy! In addition, there were plenty of extra little perks that went above and beyond what you would expect, like the water pitcher in the room, and the delicious snacks. They really work hard to make sure you have a lovely stay.

I was a little confused at check in, but thankfully there was a staff member there to point me in the right direction. Afterwords I saw the sign that tells you what to do (you just ring the bell in the lobby for the person to come check you in). I was just too distracted when I got there to notice the sign.

We loved the hospitality. Don greeted us when we arrived and showed us all the amenities they had to offer at the house. The room and bathroom were bright, clean, quiet and cozy. The breakfasts were amazing. They offered a few alternative choices if you didn’t want the scheduled breakfast menu. All the food was fresh and made after you sat down to enjoy your coffee and tea. The location is relatively close to town so you could walk if you wanted to. We really enjoyed our stay at the Brass Lantern Inn and recommend it highly. We are looking forward to returning again.

We didn’t get to stay long enough!

Bed was comfortable, nice soaking tub, temperature control was good, nice breakfast area, tv had a nice feature that would clear your personal security settings after checking out. Nice parking area. We didn’t hang out in the common areas at all.

Room was a bit small. Musty smell (like wood smoke) in the room, and no fridge in the room. We had a ground floor room, and were woken early on our 2nd morning by the lawnmower outside our window. Primary coffee machine in breakfast area was very slow.

Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Snacks/ desserts were also available at the end of the day that were very good. A variety of drinks and snacks are available for purchase. Hosts were wonderful. The common area layout is spacious and well planned with a great selection of books as wells as games and puzzles. Though the location is on the main traffic area, the back provides a nice outside sitting space with beautiful views of Mount Mansfield and other mountains.

Some might not care for the location on the main road- but if you select a room with views in the back how can you complain?

The hosts were amazingly friendly and accommodating. The property was utterly beautiful, and we were so impressed by the accessibility of everything. We had to leave for an early flight before breakfast the last day, so they packed up breakfast to go, so we wouldn't have to take the plane hungry. Absolutely cannot believe how awesome they were. The next time we decide to visit, they're our first choice for sure.

Minor complaints, and only because this category is required. The shower water pressure could have been better. We couldn't figure out the fireplace but that was probably time-of-year related. That's literally all.
