Most relaxing place I know on the planet. Locally built, owned an run lodge in a not very developed part of Zansibar. Not for people who wants parties and beach life, but if you're after beautifull surrondings, friendly environment and comfy, relaxing days this place is highly recommended. Food selection is a little limited, room standard is not european, and its about as remote as you get on Zansibar, but none of this matters to me.

Promised Land is one of my favourite hotels in Kizimkazi. It is the 2nd time I stayed in this hotel. I stayed in room 17 which was an amazing lodge with a wonderful ocean view. It is the perfect place to relax. The staff is exceptional and very helpful. The sunset view is really special. You can sit at the bar and chill or sit around the fire. If you are lucky, you will be able to see monkeys playing around. Breakfast and dinner were really tasty. Feels like home to me. Greetings to Yumi, Halima, Peter, Alex and Moody. Asante sana 🙏🤍

You cannot swim in the sea because of the tide/currents but you can walk or use their pool instead.

The location is absolutely stunning. Quiet. Peaceful. Rocky entrance( the Lodge has been sitting at the cliff, but the entrance to the ocean is sandy!) to the ocean gives it its boost. The sunsets are spectacular. All of the staff are just so friendly, lovely and always helpful. The accommodation has a the right touch of Africa and is clean. Food is top taste. Local dogs- especially Africa give to this place a special “home” feeling. Two monkeys jumping across the roofs are just the cherry on the cake. All of their trips are so valuable for money?! And their employees for the trips are the most lovely people as well. We did dolphin trip, snorkeling and Safari blue with Abdul and it was just perfect. He is so friendly, responsible, helpful and friendly. Thank you to all employees including the owner.

The surroundings sell itself. It was a really nice well kept place and the staff was professional and kind. It is a great place to unwind. I also liked the food and drink choices offered by the neighbors. The chapattis, cakes and bread in the small shop next door were great. The food and cocktails at the blue kameleon was superb, as well as the Italian style coffee at the shankaa internet cafe. With these food and drink offers next door it was a great place to spend a few days

I really missed a small refrigerator and a kettle to boil some water for tea and coffee. For this price one can expect that. Everything was designed to make as much money as possible to the level that even water, coffee and tea had to be bought at the bar. So I could not have my early morning coffee, because the bar was not open yet.

It was a stunning location and the room was spacious and had everything we needed. The team went out of their way to make our stay special, especially on my daughter’s birthday. We ordered a cake and got that along with a wonderful singing and dancing performance!

There was confusion on booking as it said sea view when I was looking but the confirmation said garden view which was what we got. This was disappointing at first but we had a wonderful stay nonetheless. It’s a little far from Stone Town and the road to the hotel is nothing short of treacherous!

The property itself is a big tropical garden where the bungalows are set. The garden is very beatiful! The surroundigs were very peaceful. You can see some monkeys wandering around. We also saw a bush baby in the evening. The pool is also very good and there is a plenty of pool loungers around. And we liked the evenings there - very nice views and you can find a lot of spots where to sit. The accommodation itself was very comfortable except for the hard mattress.

I didnt like the breakfast coffee and hard mattress. Despite this - it is a paradise!!! Thank you!

The spot is outstanding and everything feels so authentic! There are so many different options to chill and lie down according to the sun or the view you wish. Cool decoration, excellent food, kind staff, I am so sad I had to leave, yesterday 🥹😭 I will definitely go back anytime soon. Big respect for the way animals and nature are treated there, very heart-warming... Thank you all so much!!!

Promise land is in Kizimkazi. The hotel is exceptional and the staff is amazing. The food is delicious but the menu has to be changed because it is the same the last two years. Also sunsets are mesmerizing in this hotel and it has a family ambience. It is beachfront with an exceptional view.

It is a little bit far from the centre of the village. Wifi was not working in the room. You need special shoes to swim in the sea in the front of the hotel because it is full of stones inside. The swimming pool needs renovation.

This is a real gem, a little piece of paradise .The gardens around the accommodation are beautiful with monkeys and the occasional bush baby in the trees. The property also has four friendly dogs of various ages who look related .They will take a walk on the beach with you ,which was a delight for us. The on sight restaurant is good with local and international food that is prepared with care. The room are spacious and cleaned every day. I enjoyed the very large bed with a firm mattress. The towels are changed daily and arranged imaginatively with a variety of fresh flowers. The staff are very professional and very friendly,going out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. Have no hesitation in recommending this property
