Where do I start? First, I have to say, that I have visited some truly stunningly beautiful places like the Amalfi coast and Santorini, and Aya Beach is right up there with its breathtaking visual delight. The photos I saw before booking don't even come close! At low tide, the ocean recedes and blesses you with variations of blue, and at high tide with variations of green and lots of swimming ops! The resort's garden is lovely and green. Aya's staff from Hawa and Lewis to housekeeping and the lovely ladies in the restaurant are amazing! Foodwise, I loved the avo on toast, the poached eggs on naan bread, and the oatmeal breakfast options. I also indulged myself with a massage which took me to heaven. I was so sad to leave, but I will be back again! Hakuna Matata! *Side note* Understand that most third-world countries are struggling with power cuts and although there were some at the resort, it didn't take away from my spectacular holiday!

Nothing.

The resort is beautifully located just by the main beach of Kizimkazi and with amazing views over the ocean and the sunset. Friendly and very helpful staff. Great pool area. All rooms have their private veranda, most of them with views.

Good to know that the location is very quiet and with limited options for restaurants etc, but works perfectly fine for a few days. The rooms are definitely good enough but quite basic; it annoys me when it's limited space for your toiletries and no real place to dry your swimwear. I also find it strange that some items cost extra during the breakfast, should be standard that everything is included if you have included breakfast in your room rate.

+ Location: quite, nice beach, beautiful and clean garden, amazing hotel complex, many sunbeds and comfy lying options + beautiful sunset every evening + nice and clean pool + small but amazing outdoor gym! Everything you need for a serious and good workout + great and friendly staff + tasty food, especally for diner + clean rooms, they made the room everyday and handled the mosquito net every afternoon before sunset as well + stairs to the sea + very quite, no annoying people / seller on the beach + just a few bungalows and rooms, so not many guests, even when fully booked

- room could be a little bigger - bathroom was smelly at times - all prices for food and drinks were shown without VAT, so be had to pay 18% more in the end then expected. That wasnt really communicated.

A beautiful hotel complex. We mainly used the days to relax as we did a lot on the island in the first week. We had breakfast and dinner included. Both could be chosen from the menu, the portions were really big and more than sufficient. And not to forget, delicious with a view of the sea. We had booked a bungalow and were overwhelmed. It was better than the photos on Booking.com show. The staff were always very courteous and friendly. At low tide you can take long walks on the beach. Definitely recommended.

It's not the hotel's fault, but there are a lot of beach boys on the beach. Otherwise there was nothing to complain about.

Well, if you were wondering or on the fence about this lovely resort.. well then here is my review so that it can sort you out and assure you a fabulous stay at Aya Beach Resort. We stayed 3 nights in this resort and from the check in everything was looking up. We had sea view bungalows and our units were in the new extension of the resort. The bungalows had an external bathroom which I fear, will change your bathroom experience forever. Somehow after that first shower in the open breeze, something deep down is going to change in you! The team was super friendly, led by Louise, whom did everything he could to make us feel welcome. There wasn’t a curve ball that came his way where he and the team will knock out of the park and find a solution. Our rooms had a tiny issue which we never faced anywhere before. The main curtains of the room seemed abit short on one side of the window and as covered women that seemed like a challenge. Nevertheless, the team found a solution and sorted out the issue. The rooms are very clean and the beds very comfortable. We stayed with a half board package and the food was delightful. Their traditional curry is their main signature and it was really tasty. Their desserts and salads were simply fantastic. The breakfast was Spanish omelette and avocado toast. You could help yourself to any servings of fruits, waffles (with chocolate and strawberry syrup) and hot drinks! The full resort is really really nice. There was a yoga deck. The swimming pool was being fixed but it was cleaned and had a nice infinity edge design to it. The resort has its own access down via steps on to the beach. There was a lot of seaweed unfortunately but no one to blame I guess for that (wait, maybe Poseidon? Lol). Also, this resort is next to a big fishing village so you get to see all the locals fishing in the morning and sometimes even at night. You can easily get a ride to go see the dolphins - an absolute experience while staying there.

nothing major - just the idea of ‘friendly’ insects and crawling things going around.. I mean it is an open outdoor area by the beach.. so its kind of their home too..

Food was great. Staff really helpful

1 -The information leaflet in rooms stated "No smoking in public places" . It was terrible to eat in the restaurant area where people are allowed to smoke, it spoiled the good food that was served. Smoking also allowed at pool and bar area, it was terrible to relax there with cigarette smoke all over the place. 2 - I had a room joining mine. There was just one small hot water geyser for both units. When my neighbours showered before me I had to deal with a cold shower.

Aya Beach exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, ideal for unwinding and disconnecting. The beachfront location is unbeatable — crystal-clear waters, soft white sand, and dreamy sunsets every evening. The team was incredibly helpful with organizing activities and transfers, always with a smile. Our room was beautifully decorated, with all the comfort you need. We truly felt taken care of every single day. Highly recommend Aya Beach for anyone visiting Zanzibar — it’s a place you’ll never forget!

I picked this place for my last stay in Zanzibar because I wanted a different piece of paradise. Well, it was so unique there, and I left happy and with the desire to stay more and more. But maybe it's going to be a next time :) The place had everything I expected and all the staff, from the reception to restaurant... Tzzzz... top class!!! Wonderful garden, amazing pool, amazing food in restaurant, amazing rooms! Huge plus! You can enjoy everything there in silence and without caring about any noise and crowd from the village. I am super happy for this choice, and it feels nice when you leave a country like Zanzibar with this feeling. Thanks a lot, Aya! This place will stay in my heart ❤️ I recommend

You don't have what to put here if you are honest and good with humanity.

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for 4 nights 2 nights in room 10 which was very nice then as we wanted to stay for a further 2 nights we moved into a luxury villa virtually on the sea!!! It had an outside spacious bathroom. The location is paradise. The beach is nice and the colour of the water is pure turquoise blue. Food is exceptional, especially the Tuna! The best thing was the staff always happy to see you and go out of their way to help you. Well done to Jim’s, Salem,Irene and Juliane and of course the lovely Yusef! We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. 5 stars!!!!

As a traveler, I recently had the pleasure of staying at Aya Beach Resort, and it was an unforgettable experience. We was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality that made me feel right at home. The resort's location is simply breathtaking. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities you could need. I stayed in one of the Signature Villas, which offered stunning views of the ocean and a sense of tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. The staff at Aya Beach Resort truly go above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable stay. Whether it's the friendly housekeeping team, the attentive waitstaff, or the knowledgeable tour guides, everyone is dedicated to providing exceptional service. What stood out the most was the range of activities and experiences available. From snorkeling and diving in the crystal-clear waters to exploring the rich culture and history of Zanzibar, there's something for everyone.
