Most relaxing place I know on the planet. Locally built, owned an run lodge in a not very developed part of Zansibar. Not for people who wants parties and beach life, but if you're after beautifull surrondings, friendly environment and comfy, relaxing days this place is highly recommended. Food selection is a little limited, room standard is not european, and its about as remote as you get on Zansibar, but none of this matters to me.

Promised Land is one of my favourite hotels in Kizimkazi. It is the 2nd time I stayed in this hotel. I stayed in room 17 which was an amazing lodge with a wonderful ocean view. It is the perfect place to relax. The staff is exceptional and very helpful. The sunset view is really special. You can sit at the bar and chill or sit around the fire. If you are lucky, you will be able to see monkeys playing around. Breakfast and dinner were really tasty. Feels like home to me. Greetings to Yumi, Halima, Peter, Alex and Moody. Asante sana 🙏🤍

You cannot swim in the sea because of the tide/currents but you can walk or use their pool instead.

The location is absolutely stunning. Quiet. Peaceful. Rocky entrance( the Lodge has been sitting at the cliff, but the entrance to the ocean is sandy!) to the ocean gives it its boost. The sunsets are spectacular. All of the staff are just so friendly, lovely and always helpful. The accommodation has a the right touch of Africa and is clean. Food is top taste. Local dogs- especially Africa give to this place a special “home” feeling. Two monkeys jumping across the roofs are just the cherry on the cake. All of their trips are so valuable for money?! And their employees for the trips are the most lovely people as well. We did dolphin trip, snorkeling and Safari blue with Abdul and it was just perfect. He is so friendly, responsible, helpful and friendly. Thank you to all employees including the owner.

Promise land is in Kizimkazi. The hotel is exceptional and the staff is amazing. The food is delicious but the menu has to be changed because it is the same the last two years. Also sunsets are mesmerizing in this hotel and it has a family ambience. It is beachfront with an exceptional view.

It is a little bit far from the centre of the village. Wifi was not working in the room. You need special shoes to swim in the sea in the front of the hotel because it is full of stones inside. The swimming pool needs renovation.

Very nice and numerous chill out areas with brilliant sea view and great decorations, good vibes, nice pool, Kajaks, SUP, Slackline, good vegetable Curry, fire at night, good music, the staff at the Restaurant and cleaning staff was extremely friendly

Swimming was not possible at low tide and during high tide it was too much wind and waves to swim or kajak, last part of the road was very bad Staff at the bar was just sometimes helpful Didn't get exactly the booked room

Proposed Land was perfect for our group (of children and adults) with a great pool, close proximity to the sea and lots of places to relax and read. The staff were great and our room (one of the first floor rooms) was large and comfortable. It was also very good value for drinks and food and it's easy to go on boat trips etc.

Hospitality, they are organised and organised tours for us. Food was good, prices reasonable and everyone was welcoming. Great views, total peace

WiFi, lot of dogs

This is a real gem, a little piece of paradise .The gardens around the accommodation are beautiful with monkeys and the occasional bush baby in the trees. The property also has four friendly dogs of various ages who look related .They will take a walk on the beach with you ,which was a delight for us. The on sight restaurant is good with local and international food that is prepared with care. The room are spacious and cleaned every day. I enjoyed the very large bed with a firm mattress. The towels are changed daily and arranged imaginatively with a variety of fresh flowers. The staff are very professional and very friendly,going out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. Have no hesitation in recommending this property

Amazing hippie vibes and loads of cool places to chill. Monkeys and other amazing wildlife visiting the area! Free kayaks and stand up paddle. Great access to water with steps. Outstanding decorations all over, really cool place!!

Stunning location. Absolutely perfect for relaxing - there are so many hammocks and swing beds, and sun beds. The kayaks are a nice addition. I had a spa treatment which was lovely and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was really nice - fruit and then a choice of either pancakes or eggs. The restaurant menu is good, reasonable selection (more than some of the other hotels/restaurants in the area), but the seafood and fish are exceptional.

The beach is not very good for swimming because there are a lot of sea urchins and even at high tide it is not deep enough to swim without stepping on them. If you want to swim you can walk to Kizimkazi beach which isn't far (but there are still one or two urchins) or bring reef shoes to protect your feet. Drinking water is not provided (not even for brushing teeth) but you can buy it at the bar
