The accommodation was clean and the room had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable and the room was only a short walk from the pool and restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. A plate of fresh fruit with coffee, followed by a choice of cooked breakfasts was sufficient to keep us going. The staff were lovely, always smiling and happy to help with anything. The restaurant served delicious meals using locally caught fish and the brownie is the best we have tasted. The hotel sits between 2 lovely beaches that are easy to access and don't get crowded. There is a lot of wildlife around and the hotel is visited regularly by howler monkeys, motmots and iguanas. The hotel is a nice distance from Samara to avoid the hustle and bustle but near enough to walk into the town for a meal or shopping.

The property was beautiful, the pool, gorgeous, and it was very convenient to have a restaurant on site. Included breakfast was delicious . The staff were helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable . chairs and boogie boards were available and it was a short walk to the beach. It is a very short drive to playa Carillo which is another beautiful beach.

The beach is at the opposite end of the main Samara town. This is good if you don’t like the crowds, but if you want to walk to town, it is 45 minutes along the beach and not advisable on the road because it’s winding and narrow. There is a bus that goes back-and-forth to town however The times seem to be a bit unpredictable. We had a car, so we drove into town when we wanted to. Parking was not too difficult in town.

The close proximity to both Playa Samara and Playa Carillo was super convenient. We also loved being able to easily go into town for shopping/restaurants, but honestly the meals we had at the Hideaway Hotel were some of the best meals we had during our 5-night stay. All of our food was amazing, particularly the tipico breakfast, mahi filet with avocado sauce, mahi burgers, regular hamburgers, and (my personal favorite) the brownie sundae. The poolside bar was also amazing--I highly recommend the mango daquiri!

I have no complaints about our stay! Everything was literally perfect!

Our room was clean, spacious, and met our needs as a family of four. Easy location with access into Samara for meals, nearby adventures, and the lovely Playa Carillo, however, a car is definitely recommended. We enjoyed waking up to the howler monkeys each morning, catching a quick glimpse of them at breakfast, and watching the local iguanas walk around. The beach equipment that we could borrow was greatly appreciated.

We specifically booked this property to get away from the noise of Samara and unfortunately, due to the orientation of our room we still could hear significant road noise with motorcycles zooming by at all hours. I think it's luck of the draw as the rooms facing the pool/garden area probably didn't have this problem. The breakfast was decent, but could use a bit more variety for an extended stay, different fruit selection each day would be nice, the kids did however love the french toast - lots of cinnamon!

Time here just purred along in contentment and pleasure. The name sums it up, an archetypal tropical hideaway . The place is just so relaxing and comfortable and lovely, with a small attractive pool. A large peaceful iguana turned up by the pool every day to bask in the sun. Our room was huge. The staff were friendly and very efficient, and the food was delicious. The nearby beach is unspoilt and wonderful for a dawn walk, just a hundred yards away, and a second beach a fifteen minute walk away is even more beautiful. There is abundant wildlife from sea birds to a sighting of a coati.

Just note it is not so close to the attractive and lively village of Sámara. It is a very nice walk along the beach to town, but it’s about a forty minute walk and you will need to wade through a little river a few inches deep. Or $10 taxi ride.

Beautiful boutique style hotel very close to Samara beach. We stayed as a family of four here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was very comfortable. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The pool was a highlight and we enjoyed being able to have a drink and some food while lounging in the chairs poolside. The food was delicious, especially the brownies. Breakfast was also really good! I liked being a little bit out of the town of Samara ( maybe a five minute drive). But just a short walk to the beach from the hotel. Close to playa Carrillo as well, which is another beautiful beach in the area.

Charming boutique hotel. Lovely kind and helpful staff. Told us to listen out for howler monkeys in the afternoons that come through the hotels trees to feed. Beautiful gardens. Fantastic breakfasts - the best breakfasts thus far in our trip - the Tipico Tico breakfast of rice and beans was really delicious with lots of coriander in it which I love and we got to try the local Lizano sauces with it too which we had heard about. Tasty breakfast burrito. Yummy pancakes too. It was really hard to decide each day what to have for breakfast! Generous servings of everything also. Loved the fact that the hotel had beach towels, camping chairs, beach mats, parasols and even a mini cool box that we could take out with us in the car when we went out to the beaches - all free to use. We just had to return everything at the end of each day. Good size fridge on the room. Lovely large spacious rooms with a comfy indoor seating area and an outside terrace with chairs. Very peaceful location. Only 5 mins drive from Carillo beach and 10 mins drive to Samara town, or a 30mins walk along the beach to Samara but only at low-ish tide, not possible at high tide due to rivers to be crossed. Large flat screen TV in room which we didn’t use but seemed to have lots of US channels. Very effective and quiet aircon. Good coffee machine/ hot water heater which we used to make tea.

The WiFi connection was a bit patchy and worked well only when you were quite reception area. Our room was No 1 and just across the carpark area from reception area so WiFi was good on our terrace and ok in the room but did keep dropping off.

This was a great, secluded location at the opposite end of the beach from the busy little town of Samara. The staff were very professional and helpful. Included breakfast was delicious. We also ate at the restaurant one evening and it was also great, as were the cocktails. The set up of the rooms meant we all had our own balcony or patio and had a peaceful space. The howler monkeys every so often broke that peace but they were more than welcome to come and take a look at us! Samara beach is about 3 mins walk down a track and Carrillo beach a few minutes drive (10 mins if you’re brave enough to walk along the road like the locals!).

Lovely small comfortable hotel in a quiet location. Spacious rooms. Well located near the beach….albeit the quieter end of the beach away from central Samara. Near Playa Carillo which is also worth a visit…less touristy.

Recommend that you have your own transport for this hotel as it several km out from the centre. We enjoyed the walk along the beach to the centre (probably difficult at high tide) but struggled to get home at night as taxis are not readily available. We did rent bikes for part of our stay but the main road is quite busy and narrow. A great addition to the hotel would be a few bikes for guests to use/rent.

The best small, full service hotel we’ve stayed at in along time. ideally located close to beautiful beaches it’s tucked away in a very quiet corner. The rooms are very large with comfortable king beds and good pillows. There’s a full-day restaurant on site offering a wide variety of very nicely prepared food (and drinks), so you don’t really have to out restaurant hunting if you don’t feel like it. The staff are all friendly and eager to serve.
