Very nice historic hotel. Much of the original remains. The huge breakfast room (former ballroom, maybe?) is one example. Speaking of breakfast, it was very good, and with great staff, very cheerful, who made great coffee. As so many reviewers have pointed out, the staff are the true highlight of this hotel! They will do everything they can to help you out, always with with utmost courtesy and cheerfulness. We both got pretty ill (carry-over from a previous town) and needed a doctor, which the staff arranged swiftly, and which worked out very well for us. We ran into a problem with air conditioning in our half of the building. Equipment does break down, but must it be during a hot weekend.? Sigh. The maintenance guy worked hard the entire time to try to fix the issue (not sure he ever went home). And the staff did everything they could, including another room just to sleep in for a couple of nights. Amazing. The general manager was also very accommodating of our room situation, which was greatly appreciated. Nice rooftop terrace, where the staff will bring up drinks. Some nice eateries very close by - Camiolo Pizzeria, around the corner, is superb. Highly recommend the "EasyPark" parking app. Came in handy in Ragusa, available extensively all over Italy. Saves a lot of hassles. Highly recommended. And thanks again to all the staff!

Noise from workmen so had to keep windows closed The room description stated room with balcony and courtyard view but the balcony was too small to sit on and the view was next doors tiled roof However there was a lovely terrace roof area upstairs The location was too far to walk to the old town and the new town had no atmosphere

This hotel is set in what almost feels like an underground bunker. Lounge areas and bedrooms are set in stone arches amid a labyrinth of corridors decorated by individual pieces of art and pottery. Breakfast is taken in one of a number of connected rooms with the main room simply stunning. The choice at breakfast is incredible and all high quality produce. The staff operate in a quiet yet efficient manner and are very helpful and clearly committed to providing a first class service. Located in the centre of Ragusa Superior handy for shops restaurants and bars.

Because of the shape of the room there was not a great deal of space for storage of clothes.

The building, location, decoration and staff were exceptional. The balcony was lovely. Every member of staff operated at the highest level of service. They were courteous, helpful, friendly and attentive and succeeded in making us feel welcome and that our satisfaction was important. They helped with parking, ordering taxis, orientation and sightseeing and were genuinely lovely. The hotel itself was very beautiful but the staff definitely took it to another level.

The room was very small and we weren’t able to get a meal in the restaurant as it was necessary to book 3 weeks ahead. It would have been helpful to know this in advance. We booked 9 months ago so would have booked the restaurant and spa if we had had more information on both of these beforehand.

We have stayed here a total of 3 times. once just the 2 of us and 2 subsequent times being responsible for several people for 3 days each visit. Consequently I feel I have a solid review of this property. It is impeccably clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. However as outstanding as these characteristics are it was the staff who are diamonds in the crown! I had a multitude of names recorded on my "notes" app but apologize for inadvertently erasing an entire section. It is important to note every individual in ANY capacity was exceptional in their commitment to excel and help in any way possible. Thank you Relais Antica Badia and I implore you not to loose a single person as the collective whole is the key to your ongoing success.

I loved how unique and fancy the property was. The spa facility was lovely and very reasonably priced. The Suite was huge which was exceptional for Italy. The staff remembered that it was my husbands birthday and brought him pancakes with a candle for his bday 😭

The price was a bit high and parking wasn’t included, perhaps because it is limited in quantity. Made to order breakfast and mini bar (e.g, bottled wattle) were an extra charge too.

This is a beautiful and historic building fitted into a modern hotel. The room had everything we needed and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was absolutely perfect and spacious compared to most in the area. The staff was helpful attention and kind. The breakfast was an absolute dream and I look forward to it every day. We would love to stay again!

We loved everything about this hotel!

I highly recommend Relais Antica Badia to anyone travelling to the south-west of Sicil and begrudge not having stayed longer. It is a marvellous hotel in an old Palazzo facing the Cathedral. Staff is kind, helpful and always attentive. Very comfortable beds, large bathroom with separate lavatory, Junior Suite was very quiet, high rooms. Lavish breakfast for every taste with big choice of fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, omlette and Italian specialities. If you need a parking space, a few are available in the courtyard for 15€ per night (reserve in advance). Value for money is outstanding!

Newly renovated hotel in Ragusa Superiore opposite the Cathedral, and close to shops and restaurants. It was very quiet considering it is situated on a main road. The stairs to Ragusa Ibla are a short convenient distance away. We chose a room in the older part of the hotel and it had character and lovely high ceilings. Breakfast was pricey but was delicious and served in a grand ballroom. Lovely property and we highly recommend it.

Great location right opposite Cathedral.. beautifully restored Palazzo.. tastefully decorated rooms and it was a delight to eat a delicious breakfast in a frescoed ballroom. Amazingly helpful and attentive staff who went more than the extra mile to help my mother who fell ill. Even offered to make us a meal when we got back from the hospital at 4am. Outstandingly helpful.
