It's a lovely, quiet, secure location, beautiful, well kept rooms, and lush beautiful gardens, excellent staff, delicious meals. Lovely breakfast area, with a delicious full breakfast. The staff were very professional and polite. They provided an excellent daily room cleaning service, and quickly provided any extra items needed. My brother has stayed there many times and recommended we stay there as well - we weren't disappointed!

We didn't dislike it, but the parking is a little tight in the back, however, there was enough parking for guests and deliveries. They could use a couple more pool loungers that can be moved around, but there was enough seating at the pool.

I travel every month for 3 - 4 days a month and have stayed at Sunninghill for I'm sure over a year now. It is fantastic as I feel at home when I come back with beautiful accommodation, expectational staff and the locality is perfect. I feel like I'm staying in the Oyster Box which I have stayed in many times. I look forward to my monthly trips as know I won't have problems with electricity, water or a beautiful clean room and everything that I do need is always not only met but exceeded.

Nothing ! As mentioned, I stay over once a month for a few days and I am so incredibly happy when I am planning my next trip.

Front office assistance, specifically oldish guy with moustache our rooms, the pool, convenience of location and the general chilled vibe about the place. It has been my preferred place to stay when visiting Joburg.

There was one specific instance when the young guy at the front office brought us pool towels as we had brought the towels in the bathrooms and the matter of fact tone he took in telling us we should know not use the bathroom towels for the pool I did not appreciate.

Stayed one night. The surroundings were lovely. Trees and birds. The place was very neat and well maintained. Bongani at reception was exceptional in welcoming us and so patiently explained all details to us. Set up the TV for Netflix. Noticed and immediately changed batteries on dying remote. The rest of the staff were very friendly. Room was lovely. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was very clean. Had readily available hot water. Fresh clean large bath towels plus hand towel for each guest. Aircon kept us warm plus bonus of under floor heating in one of the rooms. Tea/coffee corner plus bar fridge. Conveniently situated close to restaurants, shopping malls and easy access in/out of property. Very secure and safe.

We booked into a family unit ground level. We could hear every sound from the above unit (every step or creak reached us clearly) The noise disturbed our sleep. Maybe book level above or put your ear phones on until asleep.

We have stayed at Sunninghill Guest Lodges several times and are never disappointed. Our room was clean and comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast under a tree next to the swimming pool. The gardens are beautifully maintained with abundant bird life and the staff are friendly. There is always sufficient parking.

No complaints.

The accomodation and facilities were excellent; clean, safe, bright, practical and well-landscaped. We were a little intimidated staying in Johannesburg as we are not city people and Jo'burgs reputation preceded it a bit so we were keen to have a safe, comfortable and pleasant place. This was it. Breakfast was also very good. The staff was wonderful, truly went above and beyond. We were only in Johannesburg overnight to catch a flight and did not have a car, or ability to easily use Uber. Bongani, the concierge/manager(?), was AMAZING and helped us identify walkable places for dinner, get us to the hop on hop off tourist bus, keep our bags safe, and helped us with getting an Uber to the airport, etc. The pleasantness of our very brief time in Johannesburg was made possible by Bongani's professional, friendly and very kind help.

The only thing that wasn't great was the location if you didn't have your own car or ability to get an Uber. It is located in a suburb -a very safe, pretty and upscale suburb to be sure, but not realistically walkable to any lively cafe/restaurant district. Since we were only in Johannesburg for one night it wasn't a problem - if staying for longer as a tourist one would need to have a car to make it a more practical place to stay.

The facilities were great. Staff are accommodating and very friendly and always a smile. Super clean rooms an surrounds. Quiet.

Only thing was that remote controls for TV, netflix and aircon take a bit of time to get used to. Need to press buttons fairly hard. But front desk staff can help

The suite that I stayed in was spacious clean and I love the kitchenette. The bed was comfortable.and wifi signal really good. The generator really helped with loadshedding. Definitely will stay there again especially the suite.

Whilst a generator was in place one of the evenings it was not operational (for whatever reason I am not sure) thus one was stuck in the dark. A back up rechargeable light would've been great. What was most disappointing was the breakfast. Don't get me wrong the food was good but the offering was poor. Whilst a full English breakfast was on offer there were no options for cereals, yoghurts, fruits or pastries. I did not care for the glass filled with cut fruit and plain yoghurt. Other than that...great place.

Well, what can we say, absolutely amazing place to stay away from home. We used Sunninghill Guest Lodge as our base for a 10 week visit to ZA returning 4 times during our vacation. Awesome staff, Bongani, Storm, all the ladies and ground staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable 🙌😎👍 We highly recommend this place and looking forward to our next visit in a year or two 😀 😊. The friendly staff made my stay so comfortable 😊 I was visiting a friend at Zazen hospital, so it was convenient and right there. Close to shops as well 😀
