The room as well as the public areas such as kitchen, dining area and toilets were spotlessly clean. The room was snug but completely sufficient for our needs and it had a great shower as well as a toilet and handwash basin in the room. We didn't really see anyone apart from when we got the key, so can't really comment on staff, other than that the first impression was very friendly.

When we arrived the room was too warm for our comfort but the window would only open a tiny little crack, which was not sufficient to let in enough air. Trying to unlatch the window turned out to be very fiddly and I ended up having to do it from outside in the street. I appreciate that security on the ground floor may be a concern, but instructions in the room on how to open the window wider would be helpful.

The location was excellent — very central and within walking distance to everything we needed. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, and even though the hotel was fairly busy, it remained peaceful and quiet throughout the night. We really appreciated how restful our stay was. Another bonus was the free parking, which made things even more convenient for us. Overall, a great stay with a cozy, calm atmosphere and a fantastic location. Would definitely recommend!

This was a very nice guesthouse in Grundfjoudur which was our base for watching the northern lights and going out whale watching. The shared kitchen area had a good amount of equipment and we were quite lucky to not really run into many other guests whilst making our food. The room was pleasant and the shower was great.

The room could probably do with some TLC as the socket for the TV was taped onto the ceiling where it had previously been damaged. The white walls near the bed were all scuffed up so could do with a fresh paint but overall it was an enjoyable stay.

A large room with a table & 2 chairs. A bit more spaces available for big luggages. In the center of the town, very close to Kirkjufell. Nice coffee vouchers from Valeria Specialty coffee place.

We were in this area in early December. Only one option for dinner is available in this tiny town. We were unlucky with weather so we couldn’t go out to eat in other towns. Not too many options for food. Probably summer time is very different.

Easy to find. Good communication. Comfortable clean room and bathroom. Did not use shared areas but they looked clean and well-equipped. Able to park just outside.

I didn’t have an actual key for my room, just a key ring. As I had arrived late (9.30pm) and was only staying one night, I didn’t query this and the door was lockable from the inside (assuming no one else had the key!). Had I been there for more nights I wouldn’t have been able to lock the room when I wasn’t in it (obviously I would have raised this with the owner then).

As a solo traveler, my room was extremely spacious. The bathroom was surprisingly big as well. Everything was clean. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils/napkins/cooking ware. There was also a lot of space in the fridge for my groceries. I really liked that the heat in my room could be adjusted as it was relatively warm the day I visited the area.

The hotel was easy to find and a good location on the peninsula. We liked being able to walk to a restaurant. They gave us a coupon for coffee at a cute little coffee shop down the road. The kitchen was well equipped and had the bonus option of leaving items for other guests or taking things for ourselves in a designated food swap fridge and cabinet. So, if you're staying there, you might keep that in mind for your own food.

The restaurant where we wanted to eat was booked. Nothing on the Old Post Office, but they did warn us and we should have made a reservation.

Fantastic position with views of Kirkjufell and a great big fully equipped kitchen for cooking in with crockery and utensils supplied. Our room was big and sunny and very clean. The free voucher for coffees at Valeria coffee roasters was the icing on the cake as this columbian owned cafe had the best coffee in Iceland! Super friendly and helpful hosts who helped us with information on road conditions ( which were treacherous when we visited early April).

It's a well kept guesthouse with everything you might need for a night or two stay. We found the room a bit small with 2 people and two suitcases but it's manageable. The common kitchen is well equipped and it's nice that it has a fridge for guests and for the "leftovers" for future guests - we left some there since it was our last night in Iceland. Location is okay, centrally in the small village of Grundarfjordur - close to shop, cafe and food truck with hot dogs and subs.

Personally we wouldn't choose to stay there again but not because of the guest house, but more because of the location. We drove around the peninsula all day and found it a bit pointless to stay there for the night (and the next day drive back to Reykjavik) but didn't know that and didn't have an option to cancel anymore

Room was very clean and very spacious compared to other rooms we stayed in on our trip. Beds were very comfortable with nice bedding. Bathroom was really nice with a good shower. Great location in town, just minutes away from Kirkjufell. Kitchen downstairs was well-equipped with everything you would need to make a meal of your own - we made our own breakfast in the AM.

The only issue we had wasn't with the hotel itself, but rather finding a place to eat in the town the hotel was located in - most of the places were closed by 9pm. We ended up eating in a different town about 30min away. This could be because we traveled just before the start of their summertime season - I would imagine that in the summertime, more restaurants are open till later. Also, just a heads up, there is no elevator so if your room is on the second floor, you have to haul your bags upstairs yourself. Again, not a problem for us, but could be a deal breaker for some travelers.
