This place is a true gem. A small hotel in a European style, where every detail reflects taste and care. The interiors are stylish and beautiful, creating a sense of comfort and calm. The room was spacious, with an amazing view from the window — absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise. Everything is thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. You feel it right away: nothing unnecessary, just harmony and comfort. The service was excellent — warm, attentive, and unobtrusive. The dinner especially touched us — light and homemade: flavorful soup, fresh bread, and a slice of delicious homemade cake. It all felt so kind, so genuine. This is the kind of place you want to return to — not just to relax, but to feel that special atmosphere of care and quiet all over again.

Stafholt was almost 2 hours away from Keflavik airport. We arrived at 830 PM and dinner (ISK 3500 per person) was still available, although simple, the chicken soup, bread and cake were good. The room was spacious and well-heated with comfortable bed. There was a water kettle in common dining hall if you need one. The location of hotel was good for northern light photography with minimal light pollution. Breakfast was also simple with few choices of ham, bread and fruit. Lastly, there were ample of parking space.
It will be great if property can add a mini fridge in the room for future guest.

Location is close to some good attractions. The room was a nice size for two people, and the staff was friendly. Breakfast had a nice continental spread. It was perfect for our needs.
There was a snow storm the day we arrived, and the wind was horrible, so it was an adventure just getting there. When we were in sight of the hotel, we had to drive up a snow-covered drive. At the end of a long day, getting stuck in the driveway when you can see the hotel in front of you wasn't on my bingo card. We made it - it just would have been nice for the road up to have been cleared. But we were in Iceland in the winter, so we should expect some difficulties in that way.

We found the hotel to be very welcoming. We were extremely with our room; the size and amenities. The eating area for breakfast was large and comfortable. We would definitely recommend.
If you are interested in watching TV, there are none (which is good but may be challenging for others). We didn't have a problem with it. Dinner was soup and bread which was great. However, the same soup can be used on repeated evenings, so be prepared and ask before making reservations. The soup and bread dinner was delicious.

Very classy hotel. Minimalistic and stylish interior, very clean rooms and bathroom, comfy beds, everything was new or restored to its original state (like the beautiful wooden floor). Delicious breakfast served in a peaceful setting to the sound of classical music, felt as if guests came for a private event as opposed to a regular touristy meal. Amazing location in the middle of country side. I just so much came to peace, while staying there, that it felt like I had a small vacation on vacation.

Peaceful, quiet, stunning scenery, clean, comfortable, nice breakfast. Offering soup and bread for dinner is a simple, practical option, likely delicious, but given it was out last night in Iceland we opted to go down the road for a bigger menu.
Bed covers were too small for the bed and rough to the touch. The room key ring being a block of wood was awkward to carry, albeit quaint and simple. Having a room looking straight out at the hot tub was also a bit awkward when guests were in the tub.

Communication with the hotel post-booking is quite good. They do reply within less than 24 hours from messaging them. The room is big, and decorated with nice little vintage touches. The bathroom is a great size, and they provide gel and shampoo. The water pressure is fine, and the hot water is quite warm too. The best selling point is the breakfast: You get a bit of everything (sweet and savoury). Access to the property is easy, but there's nothing to do in the surroundings (my mother literally asked me if where the hotel was, as it's a bit secluded and it takes a while to spot it from the road - which is positive!). The staff is really nice too.
The dinner menu is quite basic, specially considering there are no alternatives. There was a strange smell on the corridor to the rooms, however, inside the room the smell was nice.

This was a beautiful brand new hotel. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. It was the largest room of the seven we stayed in during our trip to Iceland. The bathroom was also huge and beautiful, with excellent water pressure. Breakfast was delicious, although not quite as much of a selection as other places we stayed.
Check-in was supposed to take place before 9pm, which limits flexibility, but is understandable due to the small staff size. We called the hotel when we were running a little late, and there was no issue to check in a bit past 9pm. As it was new, there were several finishing touches still missing, such as shelves, a desk, hooks in the bathroom, and so on. It was out of the way, which was very nice for many reasons, but there was absolutely nothing else nearby...gas, restaurants, etc.

Nice, new property with comfortable beds and modern facilities, breakfast was good.
This could be a great place with a few improvements. Like others have mentioned, it needs a table in the bedroom with coffee/tea available. A small table in the bathroom would help with the poorly chosen sink that has very little room to place personal items. Hairdryers are also missing, the front desk said there was only one available for the entire hotel, seriously? They spent a lot of money building this facility and then decided to cheap out on some essentials….fix it!

Comfortable beds, lovely staff, great breakfast, dinner option was good and nice to have, great location to see Northern Lights and access many things to see
Property was new and there were a few things in the room that were missing but didn’t affect the stay (ie luggage racks, tv, counter or shelf in bathroom, extra chair in room. ) We anticipate that these things are still to come. Dinner option was great but limited variety so we only partook in this one night but could have done two nights. Soup was good.
