The host offered us a free room upgrade, for which we are thankful. The room was really big, with lots of big windows and an amazing view. The bed felt like a royalty bed and was very confortable. Some small suggestions would be to have some tea and coffee in the room, we did not bring any in our luggage and it would have been nice as there was a kettle and a coffee filter. Also, the room could have been a bit warmer, especially in the evening after you arrive from a day of walking in the wind (guests are asked not to change the room settings). There was not TV in the room, but that was not a big issue for us.

New and spacious cottage with stylish decor (modern tones mixed with antique wood style). Kitchen well equipped with fridge, stovetop, toaster, American coffee machine and full cookware. Bathroom is simple but functional, with hot water limited to about 5 minutes per shower due to the water heater. Location is a bit remote, but peaceful and even great for Northern Lights if you’re lucky. Overall, a good stay we’d recommend.

Location is amazing, you can see lake, mountains through the window. You can find everything you need in the room, instructions are clear.

Difficult to reach out to employees. We stayed for one week, therefore we’re really struggling with how to handle bio-waste. It would be great if the instructions on how to handle waste can be added as well.

Lækjarkot Rooms and Cottages near Borgarnes is a peaceful and cozy place, perfect for relaxing in Icelandic nature. The cottages are clean and well-equipped (kitchen, bathroom, parking), and the location makes it easy to explore the surroundings beautiful waterfalls are nearby. The check-in process is quick and contactless. Morning coffee with a view of the mountains and the open space around priceless! 🌄☕

The location of the Lækjarkot Rooms and Cottages is great! It is far enough away from Borgarnes that you feel as if you are out in the country, but also close enough that you can easily get into town.

Due to its location in nature (lots of trees), there are biting midges. Take their instructions seriously and do not keep the windows open. We missed the instructions on the door, opened the window, and got bit many times by the midges. This is no fault of the staff, just a warning to take their directions seriously.

Very comfortable, well-equipped facility with ample space, located in the midst of nature.

Communication with the property was very strange. They sent me the same message about late check-in FOUR times. The first time it was useful, but the last time (when we confirmed that we had left the property) it was ridiculous.

Very convenient location, ideal when returning from doing the whole circle of Iceland, so that the next day you can visit Hraunfossar before returning to Reykjavik. A dark location ideal for seeing the Northern Lights. Large room with plenty of space for a night's stay.

Very small bathroom sink, but I guess it is alright for a night's stay, it is made that way for saving space. A bad comment by the owner in the information sheet, saying that if the key is not inside the room when you leave, you will pay 300 euros fee. Please remove this, this is not nice!

The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were great. Very quiet and peaceful location. Reasonably close to shopping facilities and fuel station. Views were lovely from our window.

The kitchen needed a kettle, toaster, more saucepans for cooking, and large dinner plates. It also needed a couple of mugs for hot drinks. It would have been nice to have a designated parking place for each property, as blocking people in was a problem. The site needed tidying up as there was rubbish lying around. The drive to the property was a gravel road which in some areas was not good, and it was steep.

Our suite was a bit outdated but still nice. The bed is really comfortable, there´s even a massaging device. Parking is just in front of the suite. There are horses and sheep right next to the area, and the views are nice. Location is just by the ring road so very easy to navigate, Borgarnes is about 10min.

No big problems! Only one thing: the electric hot plate is really old, and the water kettle is straight from museum - that´s what my son said when he´s seen it. That wouldn´t be a problem, it´s actually kind of cute, but if you want to boil water/use the electric hot plate AND a heater (different sockets), the fuses just go off. We´ve found out late at night so too late to tell someone and then I forgot because we just pulled the heater from the socket to be safe.
