Easily accessible with a car and perfect location to see the northern lights. Had a sauna and a jacuzzi at the back of the hotel for all the guests to use and the staff was very flexible with the times af usage. Cottage was a cozy little house with all around terrace and all the basic amenities. Parking was free and right in front of the cottage. Hotel offered breakfast and other meals for a fee but this time we only used our own kitchen for meals.

Cottage was quite hot because of the heating (normal in Iceland) and there was no AC. Shower was really small. The main road was right next to the building and at night there was some light pollution from the few cars passing by. No TV at the cottage (only rooms in the hotel) but we didn't need it.

The location, as far as inbetween Reykjavik and the Snaefellsnes peninsula, was excellent. The view from the back of the hotel and all around was lovely! The actual view from our room was a big disappointment as we were looking at the road and another building. However, I did like having the balcony and we actually saw the northern lights one night off the balcony. There was a herd of Icelandic horses directly across the highway and that was amazing to get so close to them! We ate dinner there one night and it was excellent. Our room was spotlessly clean and it was nice to have the kitchenette. Overall, I highly recommend and hope to be back. It would have been perfect if we had mamaged to get one of the rooms with a view, but I guess that is luck of the draw (and arrival time).

The view from our room was of a building. Also, you have to go into the restaurant to check in and the waiter is the one doing everything there, so we had to wait a little bit to get into our room.

We stayed in a family room and it was plenty big enough for four of us. We were only there one night and the location right off ring road was terrific. Had we stayed longer than one night, the kitchen facilities would have been great. My daughter loved being able to use the sauna after a full day.

The shower door didn’t seal and every shower flooded the bathroom floor. Also, the trade off for the proximity to Ring Road was that you could hear quite a bit of traffic noise but we were so tired from our full day of exploring Iceland that it didn’t really bother us.

This very ordinary looking hotel is an absolute gem! Our room was extremely spacious, modern and clean. The hot tub and sauna were great. Whilst the menu in the restaurant was limited the food was excellent. The location is a little way out of Reykjavik in the country which made it an easy drive for us to the airport. The young man Simon, who did everything was very efficient and pleasant.

It's not terribly attractive on the outside but don't let that deter you form staying.

Check in was pretty simple and the staff walked us through everything. There is lots of free parking. The views were so beautiful from the parking lot. They even have picnic benches and walking trails for you to enjoy the outside. I didn't expect a mini kitchen in the room but it makes sense since the nearest towns with food are like 20 minutes away.

It's hard to control water escaping under the shower doors and getting everywhere.

Great place! I had a good sleep. Room was clean, and packed with all the equipment. Got washer and dryer, which makes it convenient because laundromat is not common in Iceland. So, once in a few days during my trip, I planned to stop at hotels like this.

Overall the place is great already, so there is no big deal here. But maybe the water stopper in the shower enclosure could be a bit bigger (higher) because water keeps spilling out. I am surprised that with the stove and hood where people could do a bit serious cooking there and the place is still kept clean. Hope it's not too much work for the owner. For me, just microwave and kettle is enough during travel.

The staff was very helpful. They kept the jacuzzi open for a bit longer so that we could use it as we arrived late. The location is good if you are on your way to the north or west or if you come from there and head south. If you go on the back and walk the path to the little river you can take great pictures of the mountains reflected in the river. Is also a good places if northern lights occur.

We absolutely loved this property! We got to stay in the cabin, which was perfect for us. It had a well-stocked kitchen and a few other amenities which made staying her for a couple of days really easy. The location is fantastic - you could just stay around the local area and explore for ages. The cabin was also heated by a natural spring which really added to the expeirence. We didn’t need to speak to the staff much, but when we did, they were very helpful and friendly.

Nothing!

We stayed in one of the apartments at Laxárbakki for one night only. It was a really good night of sleep and the place had everything one would possibly need (even washing machine inside our apartment). The view was lovely and a huge bonus was the restaurant! Home made lovely Icelandic dishes made our stay more welcoming and enjoyable. The owners were kind and accommodating! We are truly grateful for your hospitality and surely would stay again (possibly, when we come back during summer season).

All was great! It would be nice to stay longer than one night. )

The place was clean, quiet and had everything we needed to cook and get by for a family of 5. The towels were changed & the trash was taken out daily (maybe even unnecessarily, I'd say, if it was less frequent, we'd be okay as well). The communication ran smoothly even when the reception was closed (via booking.com messenger). The shop is about 12 mins drive away.

We got a bit unlucky when it came to the restaurant - it happened to be closed during our stay. It's okay, it happens. However, it would be great to know in advance (we only found out after we arrived).
