The sign is clearly visible from the main road. Really big hall where you can have your own breakfast during winter time, have some refreshments and teas. The room is small but the bed is really comfortable, is perfect for a couple of days. Hot tube and sauna outside. In the room there was a paper with all the info and helpful tips for restaurants and supermarkets (8/10 minutes away with car).

The room was more spacious then expected and well appointed and the bathroom was modern. Only stayed one night, but the staff were very helpful and engaging and the hot tub and sauna was very welcome after a long day sightseeing and driving! Foyer was a sitting area with some games and reading which made it feel inviting. Pity the tap beer ran out after first glass but was replenished after change of shift later in the eveninig.
The bathroom had little shelf space to put anything including the towels. I know the sloping roof may be an issue (left a large space under it) but a small set of shelves next to the sink would be very helpful.

We booked a one-bedroom apartment and it was absolutely massive - bigger than apartments I've lived in at various stages of my life. The terrace offered a beautiful view of the bay, and it all felt very cozy. Downstairs, outside the common patio, there are a delightful little hot tub, a quirky sauna and a relaxation room to unwind with a view of the sunset. We were off-season, so there was no breakfast, but this was no problem as it is only a short drive across the bay to the nearest supermarket in Borgarnes. All in all, it was very pleasant and extremely good value for money.
The property looks a bit tired and could certainly use some renovation. At the same time, I think that's part of its charm: where it lacks in refinement and upscale furnishing, it makes up for it with tons of space (if you book the top floor apartment) and a great, quiet and scenic location.

I had the pleasure of staying in a perfectly sized cabin at this wonderful hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hosts were absolutely amazing—they truly go above and beyond to ensure your stay is as pleasant and comfortable as possible. The cabin was cozy, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to make you feel right at home. Everything about the stay was seamless and exceeded expectations. This is a must-stay destination, and I can’t wait to book again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy retreat with exceptional hospitality!

Our room was a good size - very warm, clean, very comfy bed and great view over the water. the setting is fantastic with mountains right behind. We loved the sauna and hot tub being twenty meters away (although there were problems with the tub when we were there) and the complimentary simple breakfast was nice and supplemented our own supplies,
The communal lounge area was OK but lacked a real fire or seating that you would look forward to using. The light on outside our room should be on a sensor and not all night as although the curtains were thick you could see it around the edge and spoilt views of the stars.

We got one of the very new cabins so all was beautiful and clean. There was a direct view over the fjord and it was peaceful. You have to walk to breakfast to the main house but that’s not too far ( or you can drive). Breakfast has lots of choice including some salmon and pickled herring and the rolls were warm. Staff was very attentive to missing items.
I think two small side tables by the beds in the new cabin would be a good idea :) I can’t comment on staying in the main house which looked a bit tired.

The view from our cabin was amazing. Even though there were a couple of cabins around ours, there was plenty of privacy. We really enjoyed our stay and wish we could’ve stayed longer and enjoyed the facilities, the cabins come equipped with a kitchen and all sorts of items that you would need for cooking. The breakfast had limited options but was sufficient for us, and everything tasted great! Next time I would’ve loved to stay more than one night and enjoy a bit of a stroll around the area.
Nothing!

We were given an upgrade to a cabin which was exceptional - to be by the sea alongside mountains was simply extraordinary. Very cosy feel. And definitely don't be put off by the fact this is a "1 Star" hotel. It's far from it. The room was very clean, the hot showers worked perfectly and we had everything we needed.
I'm not even sure what negatives to write about without nitpicking... Perhaps an indoor jacuzzi rather than the outdoor one would have been nicer due to the cold weather (personal preference!)? I'm really sat here writing a negative about a jacuzzi... 😂

We were amazed by this one star family hotel which exceeded our expectation. We were met by very friendly staff who gave us all the details and information. The rooms were big and very clean despite the fact that the hotel doesn't look very good from outsite. It's located on the water front , there is a paved road leading to the hotel and we were surprised with a hot tub and sauna for free, which was amazing after a long drive. There's no restaurant for dinner but there are several places to eat out in the nearby town of Borgarnes ( a five minute drive) Hot water is from a hot spring and with a strong smell of sulphur but we didn't mind. Breakfast was good, we had a smart TV and we were able to watch Netflix. Best value for money on out entire trip.

Our room was spacious and had all the necessary amenities in it. We had a great view from the balcony facing towards the sea and Borgarnes. There were also a Jacuzzi and a little Sauna of which we took full advantage on. The stuff was friendly and very helpful at all times.
Within our group there were people that didn't like the smell of the hot water. This was explained though at the reception and we found cards in the room to be aware of that. Since it was taken from geo-thermal sources, it smelled of Sulfur. Well, better be prepared of that almost everywhere you'd go in Iceland :D
