The host offered us a free room upgrade, for which we are thankful. The room was really big, with lots of big windows and an amazing view. The bed felt like a royalty bed and was very confortable. Some small suggestions would be to have some tea and coffee in the room, we did not bring any in our luggage and it would have been nice as there was a kettle and a coffee filter. Also, the room could have been a bit warmer, especially in the evening after you arrive from a day of walking in the wind (guests are asked not to change the room settings). There was not TV in the room, but that was not a big issue for us.

Location is amazing, you can see lake, mountains through the window. You can find everything you need in the room, instructions are clear.

Difficult to reach out to employees. We stayed for one week, therefore we’re really struggling with how to handle bio-waste. It would be great if the instructions on how to handle waste can be added as well.

The location of the Lækjarkot Rooms and Cottages is great! It is far enough away from Borgarnes that you feel as if you are out in the country, but also close enough that you can easily get into town.

Due to its location in nature (lots of trees), there are biting midges. Take their instructions seriously and do not keep the windows open. We missed the instructions on the door, opened the window, and got bit many times by the midges. This is no fault of the staff, just a warning to take their directions seriously.

Very convenient location, ideal when returning from doing the whole circle of Iceland, so that the next day you can visit Hraunfossar before returning to Reykjavik. A dark location ideal for seeing the Northern Lights. Large room with plenty of space for a night's stay.

Very small bathroom sink, but I guess it is alright for a night's stay, it is made that way for saving space. A bad comment by the owner in the information sheet, saying that if the key is not inside the room when you leave, you will pay 300 euros fee. Please remove this, this is not nice!

The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were great. Very quiet and peaceful location. Reasonably close to shopping facilities and fuel station. Views were lovely from our window.

The kitchen needed a kettle, toaster, more saucepans for cooking, and large dinner plates. It also needed a couple of mugs for hot drinks. It would have been nice to have a designated parking place for each property, as blocking people in was a problem. The site needed tidying up as there was rubbish lying around. The drive to the property was a gravel road which in some areas was not good, and it was steep.

Our suite was a bit outdated but still nice. The bed is really comfortable, there´s even a massaging device. Parking is just in front of the suite. There are horses and sheep right next to the area, and the views are nice. Location is just by the ring road so very easy to navigate, Borgarnes is about 10min.

No big problems! Only one thing: the electric hot plate is really old, and the water kettle is straight from museum - that´s what my son said when he´s seen it. That wouldn´t be a problem, it´s actually kind of cute, but if you want to boil water/use the electric hot plate AND a heater (different sockets), the fuses just go off. We´ve found out late at night so too late to tell someone and then I forgot because we just pulled the heater from the socket to be safe.

Laekjarkot Rooms and Cottages with kitchen is located just 7 km from Borgarnes town center, where you can buy food from the large Bonus supermarket. The host is very flexible on check in. Since we arrived after 6:00 pm, he posted a notice at the door of the reception with my name, room no., and said that the room was not locked and the key was inside on the table. So we could check in very fast. The cottage is very spacious, with a large and well-furnished sitting room, a large and well-equipped kitchen, and two bedrooms. The bathroom is large and clean, too, and with a heater for us to dry our towels and clothes. Each cottage is a separate unit with metal outside walls. That night there was very strong wind and heavy rainfall. To our surprise, the cottage could withstand the strong wind and heavy rainfall, though it's a bit shaky. So if you are staying in Borgarnes, this will be a good choice for you.

We had 2 rooms - one was an exec suite and the other a standard double, which were situated close to eachother. The suite had a table for 4 people which was very handy. Room was spacious and clean. We could park close to both rooms. Nice view of horses in the surrounding fields. A 5 minute drive to Bourgarnes.

Rooms were very hot, with instructions not to change the heating, although we had to turn off the radiators so we could sleep. Kitchen area was basic. This was fine for a 1 night stop, when we ate out, but would be limiting if we were staying for longer. The kettle was hob-based, so we heated water in the microwave.

It was very nice, and in a great location. Lady there was also very helpful, & sorted a problem immediately

The room I got wasn’t what was booked. But as I say above, the lady sorted it straight away. Only things missing were a Kettle & Microwave…..but no big problem

+ a nice little apartment almost in the middle of nowhere. I could watch horses pasturing nearby :) However, close distance (by car) to a town / shops / gas station etc. + sufficiently equipped + no problems with parking + good heating system

- almost not working stove/cooker - that was a huge disadvantage to us as even boiling the water for coffee took around 30 minutes, not to mention heating up ready-made food on a pan (after 1,5 hours the food was still not hot) - extremely thin walls - if your neighbours are not talking in a hushed voice then you can hear everything from the neighbouring apartments (we had to use earplugs at night)
