Situated about a 15 minute walk from the center of Luxembourg, and right on the corner from an enormous parking lot with public transportation links all over the city (and country), Hotel Victor Hugo is a very good stay in the Capitol of the Grand Duchy, and I would definitely consider staying again. The parking lot is not free during the day - but is in evenings after 18:00 and on weekends. Remember to check for the Schoberfeuer, an annual festival in August in Luxembourg where the lot is converted into a fun fair (and obviously no parking is allowed). This aside, it's also a 10 min tram ride to the main station, meaning it's good for those there without a car, also. The rooms are big and clean, including the bathrooms and come with full shutters which effectively block the noise of the streets before. There are supermarkets, restaurants (including a famous local one) and other things all within walking distance. We didn't have time to check out the other facilities of the hotel but there are plenty.

Breakfast was rather expensive, so we didn't take it - some of the restaurants nearby are explicitly breakfast places are probably a better option for casual travellers. There's also only typically one staffer on reception at any given time, and a lot of traffic going through, which can lead to fairly long waits for something as innocuous as checking out.

It was clean and comfortable and we found it to be very quiet, in a safe area. Two supermarkets a couple of hundred yards away....turn right, then right again, then right again, and you'll see the signs. Handy for milk and snacks. The tram stop Theatre is nearby and will bring you to the centre quickly....if you get off at Hamilius it's a short walk to Place d'Armes which is very lively and has lots of restaurants. Alternatively, you can walk there in 20 minutes. The tram is handiest from the airport.....get off at the Theatre stop. We'd definitely stay in Best Western Victor Hugo if we return. Excellent value indeed.

We didn't use the bar because it looked completely dead, and we like a 'buzz'. Maybe if they had a happy hour or some kind of deal, it would generate interest. And a bit of background music would also help. It isn't a deal-breaker tho. There's a nice friendly bar over the road, with reasonable prices. It's called 'Theatre Stuff'.

We loved the experience in general. The hotel is in great conditions with small fountains (the water is so relaxing). The staff is lovely. Both the girla and the guys at the reception helped us with direction, map to go around the entire country. They kindly showed us the app to use to move aroud, the path to take, the transports etc. The location is also very good. The property is in a residential area (at the back of the hotel) but very well connected to the city centre (15 minutes walking straight down). Also, you have the T1 just outside the hotel which takes you to the centre, to the airport and to other many locations. Very important highlight; I forgot my coat in the wardrobe and the hotel sent me a picture straigth away asking if I wanted the coat to be sent back to me, very rare to find such a treatment.. :) Thanks so much team!!!!

The room was clean, we had everything needed for our stay. The location was good - just a couple of minutes walk to the inner city center and even free parking available over the weekend in a public parking garage close to the hotel. We used the small gym as well as the sauna. Both very basic but more than other hotels of bigger size usually offer.

If you want to use the sauna you need to inform the staff - which is fully fine. Unfortunately, the staff did not know how to properly get the sauna running, so we ended up with a cold sauna and first needed to figure out how to turn it on by ourselves. Finally enjoying the hot sauna, the staff kind of interrupted us and asked how long we will still use the sauna.. which made us feel we should leave soon.

Great location, just steps from the Theater tram stop and a 15 min walk to the old town. Grocery stores and a bakery just a few minutes away. Room in the annex was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Internet worked well. Roller blinds were great for blocking the light completely.

Bathroom could have been better: shower leaked onto the floor, caulking was a bit moldy, light was burnt out and had to wait a day to get the bulb replaced because there was no maintenance person on Sunday. Room was rather plain but otherwise comfortable and functional.

The room in the annex was basic but comfortable with a large bathroom with a shower. The location is excellent with a tram 3 minutes away on foot. The wifi works properly. The mattress is comfortable, including some of the pillows.

The room was an oven for May. As a result, I had to sleep with the window open and without the duvet. The light experience in the room is not great. The amenities in the bathroom are of a poor quality. The personnel at the reception during the check-in was not really welcoming and caring. The room is too expensive for a 3 stars hotel.

The hotel was located very close to a tram station. Breakfast was good, with a variety of food to suit all tastes. The staff were all friendly and polite. A special mention of one of their excellent receptionists, Galiffe, who went above and beyond to help us when we ran into difficulties (not with the hotel). He worked on our behalf to resolve issues and he certainly was the high point of our hotel experience. He deserves to be promoted!

The air conditioning stopped working during our stay. Staff did their best to have it rectified as soon as possible, and this was done. We were offered a free breakfast by way of compensation. Staff attitude to this was excellent at all times.

I was a bit worried due to the mixed reviews but the rooms are totally fine. Everything is very clean. The air-conditioning works really well and is quiet. Really ingenious idea to put a poster on the wall outside - felt like we were looking at the old city wall. The double room is better than the single. The location is excellent.

The room doors are indeed not very soundproof. So when other guests are less considerate you will hear them slam the front door and their room doors.

Great location, easy access to the tram to the central city and the airport. The room is bright and big, and the shower is big as well. I dropped my backpack before check-in, and the staff were friendly. The air con is strong and the room is ready to stay when check-in.

The towels are not as clean as expected for a 4-star hotel, one with tangled hair in it when I unfold it, the other one has a dark spot on it, though I don't expect too much from hotel towels, at least, making it virtually clean...

Clean, spacious room, overall fine, I will go again if I travel to Luxembourg again.

Second time there. Like the location and the hotel room on the first time. The second time it was m30% more expensive and I was given a room on the other side of the hotel, different building which is ok, however it had a very small desk and quite average lights, I was there and needed to work and it wasn’t very convenient. Apart from that and comparing to the first time I was there it was fine
