We had a fantastic time at Pumula Beach Hotel. What a beautiful place. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the place is situated in close proximity to the beach and the food was excellent. The room was very comfortable. There were quite a few families who brought their kids as it was school holidays. We loved that the kids were catered for and were kept very well entertained and happy. It is a great place for couples and families with kids. The weather was absolutely perfect, considering that we went in mid winter. It was a pleasure to walk around in shorts and flip-flops. We definitely will visit this gem again. Loved it here.

The staff at Pumula were some of the friendliest people I have ever met. My wife and I were so well looked after. The staff and management will bend over backwards to accommodate their guests. Could not rate them highly enough. The food was absolutely exceptional. Not one bad meal. At the end, my wife and I tried to change our travel plans to stay another night because we had such a great experience.

Not much, to be honest. The weather was limiting as it was raining quite heavily, but nothing the hotel could do about that!

This family hotel is run by a truly exceptional team. Family and friends from across the country gathered here with us for a very special memorial celebration in honour of our beloved mother. When our original plans had to be significantly changed, the hotel exceeded all expectations and accommodated us with warmth and care. A heartfelt thank you to Paul, Kevin, Sam, and the entire front of house team for going above and beyond to make this occasion so meaningful. We’re already looking forward to returning in the future.

Pumula was such a treat for us as a family, from the provided towels, warm pool, direct access to the beach, kiddies activities on the weekends, great food (really great), onsite playground, putt putt and a little shop for some extra fun!! There was no need to even leave the Hotel, we arrived and our car stayed put until we had to depart.

The only thing that was a challenge for us was the dinner meal times which made feeding a young human and ourselves difficult. I wish that there was an overlap of dinner "feeding" times so that we could have enjoyed dinner with our daughter as well. Instead we had to get her to dinner at 6pm, then put her to bed, then use our phones to do a video call for us to be able to check on her and enjoy our dinner at 8pm.

Everything was great. We had rain for the first 36 hours of our stay but it didn't dampen our spirits. We loved the food, the service and the friendliness of the staff. The rooms were also comfortable. Really can't fault our stay!

Our last night there had almost 100% occupancy and having a meal in the dining room was very loud with inconsiderate people, but that is to be expected with so many people. The person in the room next to us was also playing her music on her phone while on the balcony, quite loudly at 6am which was unnecessary.

The place has very warm vibes. Everybody is very friendly and welcoming. We arrived late at night, they kept our "halaal" food in the kitchen. They respected our dietary restrictions. The chef is amazing. She would come by for every meal to explain what we can and what we cannot eat since we were looking for Halaal options. She took an extra mile to buy halaal meat for us as well. There are many kids activities through out the day like crab hunt, coloring, movie time, football and swimming. The swimming pool is heated.

It is a 2 hour drive from Durban

Pumula Beach Hotel is the ideal location to relax and recharge the batteries. In particular when travelling with kids. There are so many activities offered - one has to look out for the kids! Room, Food was excellent. The whole staff was excellent and super friendly and made our stay wonderful. Particular thanks to Kevin!!! We will come again!

STAINLESS STEEL HAND RAIL ON THE BIG POOL STEPS FOR OLD PEOPLE TO GET IN AND OUT OF THE POOL AND NOT HAVE TO CRAWL OUT ON OUR HANDS AND KNEES OR NOT ENJOY THE LOVELY HEATED POOL BECAUSE OF THE DIFFICULTY OF GETTING IN AND OUT THE OTHER THING WOULD BE TO EXTEND THE EXISTING STEPS WITH THE STAINLESS STEEL HAND RAILS WITH A FEW MORE PLASTIC STEPS TO MAKE IT EASIER TO GET OUT OF THE POOL THANKS

Breakfast was awesome. View was out of this world. Staff were fantastic. Pity about one unruly child that was next to us throwing food on the floor. Felt very bad for your staff. One particular staff member was amazing, unfortunately I did not get his name. He was quite shy but he really was such a gentleman.

I didn't like the fact that we had to leave and couldn't stay longer.

This is a really special hotel. My wife and I loved it. Great location, beautiful grounds, very friendly and competent staff, terrific food, and our room was very comfortable with an excellent view of the ocean (with frequent whale sightings). Public spaces were also very relaxing and comfortable. For families with children I could see it being particularly good, as they have ongoing activities for kids. They are also associated with a local surf school, so people who are interested in surfing can easily arrange for board rentals or lessons. Highly recommend.
