Onsen and buffet line. There is a shortcut walkway to Yubatake by backdoor with passcode.
It could be more clean.

Excellent buffet, both breakfast and dinner were really good. Variety of choice and dessert. 3 onsens in hotel and you can go visit other sister hotel's onsen. Staff were great. Some of them speak fluent English to accommodate foreign tourist. Really great experience and highly recommend.
Maybe a little bit expensive. Paid about 990 Canadian dollars for 2 adults and one year old son for 3 days 2 nights. Elevator was kind of scary as it shuts door really fast and it's hard to stop it. Should be quick to come in and go out. During our stay, some onsen were closed beyond its maintenance schedule time(for women).

Rooms were definitely super clean and spacious, more than enough space for 2 person and large suitcases. 3 Onsen baths provided and you can even visit the sister hotel's Onsen should you want to. Onsen were very clean and well maintained, not once is there anything to pick about. Breakfast and dinner buffet were out of this world. Well worth the price with so much selection and variety for appetiser, main course, dessert, and drinks. Yukata also provided as well that you can wear indoor or even wear out, and you can borrow sandals too to wear outdoors. The heater in the room is pretty strong too. Backdoor shortcut access is also very convenient leading straight into the Main Street with the stores and literally 2-3 minutes away from Yubatake. Even at night the shortcut was strongly lit making it feel safe!
Although you would mainly use the Onsen to shower and soak, on the occasion you would use the bath in your room, could use a bit of Maintanance as some of the silicon are showing its age. Also, would have been nice to be shared the password and location of the backdoor entry as the front door entry was quite a walking distance from the bus terminal and a steep albeit short gradient uphill. But the weather was nice enough despite the longer walking distance so it is fine.

Breakfast and Dinner were both amazing meals at the hotel. As a foreign family of 4, we were especially wowed by the large assortment of Japanese foods to try. While we some of the few foreign tourists, we always felt welcome by staff and other guests. The onsite onsens were small but clean and well maintained. We enjoyed wearing our hotel-provided yukatas around the hotel.
The walk from the train station was a bit confusing and we would have really appreciated a hotel shuttle option. It was difficult to communicate with the front desk staff, but that was expected as they let us know that they had just one English Speaker on staff.

The location is excellent, there is a little hidden entry which allows you easy access to the centre of town. There are multiple Onsen Options available to guests. The restaurant is Buffet style, which means that for someone like me, who doesn't like fish, I could eat things I did like with no issues at all, and not having to bother the staff with trying to change my meal options to accommodate. Plus the food was all delicious. The staff were all very lovely, and very friendly, they spoke basic English, but did so very well.
No shuttle from the station, so you have to either pay for a taxi or walk, which is not the worst as it is not terribly far, but can be a little difficult with luggage. If you are not used to sleeping on Futon bedding, it can be a little uncomfortable, but that is a problem for me, not for the hotel itself.

The location was good with the shortcut to the Yubatake. The food selections at the dinner and breakfast buffets were plentiful and a wide variety of foods. Nice selection of yukatas in the lobby to choose from as well as bath amenities.
While they warn you that the floors in the public baths are slippery, they could have at least put some sort of rubber mat down on the inside entry of the bath. I fell and hit my arm pretty good leading to swelling and bruises later. Also, the elevator doors closed way too quickly without any sort of protective measure. Three of us got into the elevator with one pulling her suitcase in when the doors closed on her. She had to tug to get the suitcase in as doors did not reopen when it hit her bag. The doors closes in matter of seconds.

Breakfast and Dinner Buffets were excellent, some of the best we've seen in Japan. The Yaki Manju soft serve ice cream is not to be missed. Having the option of 3 different baths was very nice, the lowest one was the best. The room was very basic and probably the most sterile Japanese style room we've seen, but the futons were comfortable. The access to the main part of town was very nice either through the hotel passage or from the street.
The room was warm and there was no active climate control that we're so used to in Japan. When we opened the windows and either had food smells from the kitchen below us or very strong sulfur smell during the night.

As foreigners with no knowledge of Japanese customs or language, we panicked upon arrival that we had made a mistake. But with the support of the helpful staff, we soon figured out the ropes of using the baths, how to book our mealtimes and how to use the shortcut to the town center. By our second day, we were bathing, eating and exploring the town like rock stars! The baths were wonderfully tranquil and the meals a true smorgasbord of delights. This is a large hotel accommodating many people, but it seems there are more exclusive options in town as well. A stroll through the park that houses the source of the springs is a must!

We spent 2 nights there and liked it. Room are big enough with own bathroom, beds are comfy. Location is good, the short way to town is convenient. Staff is very friendly and helpful, many speak english. The baths were not crowded and are ok. Breakfast and Dinner was Buffet style and you get 90 minutes to eat. But no one controlls if you come to your designated time or stay longer.
I wish there were a bit more non-japanese options for breakfast but it was ok. The private bath is a bit expensive and has not much flair. But its big enough for a family.
