The location is central, the pub is cosy and the staff were fab, we are 2 middle aged woman, when we arrived the weather was hot and hummid, we asked if there was fan available, Tasha, who was one of the main members of staff, sorted it for us straight away, she asked about dietary requirements and Allergies, and I explained I need a GF diet, she made sure I had everything I needed. Tasha's knowledge of the local area was great, and she was able to give us advice on site seeing and places of interest. She kept us entertained with her wit and humour. She's an absolute gem. We will definitely be back ☺️

Very helpful staff, and our room had a great view of the town. Great historic building to stay in. Maybe bring ear-plugs as there’s quite a lot of early morning town centre activity!! But this is balanced by having such a great location for views and being within a short walk of everything.

The room and the staff were amazing. For a pet friendly hotel we entered the room and there was no smell of animals nor any hairs so the cleaners are doing and amazing job. Everything was fresh and clean. The room and building were lovely. The pub beneath was lovely with friendly welcoming staff and customers. We felt like we were right at home. The staff were great with my children and yappy little puppy and helpful. We all want to return again one day and would recommend to anyone. I don't know if there is any disabled access for people in wheelchairs so can't comment on that but for anyone else would highly recommend

Nothing to dislike

Location was perfect and the breakfast was of a high standard. The bacon and sausages were particularly tasty. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The room was a little quirky but in a nice way. Great view from the room looking all the way down the Main Street The en-suite was very clean and the shower was perfect. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay there again.

The car parking situation isn’t great. This had nothing to do with the hotel. 4 hour max stay in the nearest car park. No 24 hour parking anywhere near the hotel. It meant getting up early to move my van.

It's in a lovely location but it was a little more expensive than I thought it would be. We asked for extra teabags and fresh milk which they were happy to give us and we shared a family room with three beds. It's full of character - a lovely old pub right at the top of the High Street.

Parking isn't brilliant - we were lucky and got a spot further up but other than that, the only long stay car park is right at the bottom of town. We would have liked a drink in the bar after dinner, but they were closed which was a shame.

Welcome on arrival was great, very friendly host, large room was very clean , and tea and coffee making facilities in the room were great. Staff in the evening in bar and restaurant were very accommodating and friendly. Although we knew breakfast wouldn’t be available it wasn’t the most convenient before starting the journey home. Being a dog friendly establishment was a great bonus.

Other than lack of breakfast nothing, would stay here again but perhaps bring a croissant or something to have with a cup of tea next morning. Don’t let this put you off though as this was just my personal preference .

Punch House Hotel is situated in the old part of town. There is parking nearby, shops are easily accessible and close to places of interest. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was good. We booked a Deluxe double room which was very comfortable. We didn’t find noise to be an issue but the hotel provided earplugs just in case. We would definitely recommend this hotel, and will return when we are next in Monmouth.

Great location, right in the centre of Monmouth. Reasonable parking within 5mins walk. Lovely atmosphere at the pub, people sitting outside…a real cosmopolitan vibe. We were a party of three: me, my mum, and my sister. We had met at a central location to have a night away together. We’d booked a double and a twin. We realised that our double was on the second floor and my mum would have to climb two flights of stairs…the lady quickly moved my mum next door to our twin room, in a fabulous room with loads of space and a 4-poster bed! Total luxury!!! We were so grateful and my mum had the best night!! Can’t fault the rooms…they were really nicely decorated, with bottles of water, shower gel, etc. The only issue was the noise on Sat morning, which was obviously completely out of the control of the establishment…there are building works locally and they started ridiculously early, which woke us up. Other than that, a perfect stay, made really special by an act of kindness and thoughtfulness. Will stay again and would recommend without hesitation…

The property is in the centre of Monmouth so there’s some street noise…didn’t really bother us, apart from the building works early on Sat morning

Beautiful historic building with bags of character, situated at the top of the town with easy access to parking. Exposed beams and tasteful period decoration throughout. Room was large with a comfortable king size bed, hanging space and storage draws. Good size shower/bathroom. The management arranged meals on arrival (out of normal food hours) and local taxi services to ensure we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

The highlight was the friendliness of the exceptional team at the Punch House. But the food was great too. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking ro stay in centeal Monmouth. PS. The dog was treated like royalty and would have happily stayed forever!

The stairs are very steep so probably not suited to someone with mobility issues.
