The building have it's charm as it is a 16th century building the area is beautiful, nice hiking opportunities. Lovely staff they are welcoming and friendly they have a great garden space with a wide variety of food on the menu for any meal.

Personally the soap dispenser system what they have is not the greatest or it didn't worked for me, not sure, but i just went to the shop and bought my own shampoo and soap. It wasn't a big deal but something you should be aware of. The system is working like this you twisting it on the top and soap fall out from the bottom my issue was it didn't gave enough for wash my hand nor to have a sower with.

My room, although compact, had everything I needed, including a hair dryer, Iron and ironing board! The shower was great though I did have a little trouble getting the temperature down to an accepable temperature (Not too hot)! I had a light meal in the evening which was very good. The location is good as you can acess lots of amenities close by and do some nice walks by the river too. I was recommended Woody's in Whitchurch (just over the road) for my breakfast as I don't like a cooked one. This was great as they open at 0700 and have lots of pastries etc and do fresh coffee too. I sat outside (OK ...it's not quiet as by the dual carrageway, just 5 mins walk from the hotel) and enjoyed my light breakfast.

I arrived at the school run time (the hotel allows the "mums" to use their car park as parking is difficult there) and struggled to find an easy parking slot. This didn't last long and I was able to park without an issue shortly after this

Absolutely loved our stay here. They are very pet friendly (but also have areas where pets cannot go, which is very fair). I cannot recommend the old court enough, the views around are so lovely and picturesque, the breakfast was delicious. We went back for lunch and they were pretty busy but made an effort to sit our group of 6 which was very much appreciated. Sunday roast was delicious, a few people ordered lasagna and which they said was delicious. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating, thank you!

Everything was great. Only thing I was left wanting for was baked beans with my full English breakfast but that’s a personal preference!

The hotel is in an amazing Tudor style farmhouse that's about 500 years old, and is decorated with coats of arms and swords. It feels very historical. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The double room was clean, but rather small. There was a ceiling fan but no aircon, which didn't matter in April but I could imagine might be an issue in summer. There was a nice bar, but it shut quite early (10pm), although we were allowed to take our dinks to a nearby sofa room and drink them there. There was no reception after 10pm, so we were given a code to get entry via the back door.

We spent a great 2 nights at this hotel and will definitely come back. The building is beautiful, and a spring or summer stay must be great so that you can enjoy the lovely and huge garden (The February weather did not allow it in our case). Staff were really nice and made us feel very welcome despite having a dog with us who was quite excitable on the first day / evening. It was really convenient to get to footpath for a very long, circular and scenic walk to Symonds-Yat. Food offering was great for dinner, and breakfast choices were plentiful. We would very much recommend this place for a nice and quiet weekend away and will come back.

Staff really friendly, Compact double room was fine, provided what we needed for our stay, though nothing fancy. Great that there was a ceiling fan and opening windows as room was very hot, great for us there was a walk in shower. Lots of character throughout the hotel.

Food really good except we felt the full English breakfast although nice wasnot generous -1 rasher of bacon, 2 small button mushrooms, 2 very short sausages. No prices advertised for breakfast £15 per head. We went in town to Wetherspoons. Much better!

we liked nearly everything about the apartment ,the staff are excellent , the food is very good ,we have stayed here before and we will stay here again as we like the apartments and the inside of apartment was clean and comfortable , and we love the area.

the downside was bigger than last time we stayed ,so i feel it needs a mention, the outside tables chairs and balcony could do with a cleaning as it was quite nice weather but it was mucky with so many cobwebs in the sitting area of balcony , but what wasn't nice leading into our apartments was lots of bird mess and feathers ,feathers and mess was quite old and been there a while, and they did try to clean it up when i asked if they could, but in saying this we love it there and we will be booking again

We ate at the hotel each night of our stay and never had any complaints about the food as it was really good. The Sunday Roast was an absolute delight and you should make sure the table time is booked before the run out!!!. The staff were so helpful and professional from the moment we arrived through to leaving. The location was good with easy access to all the areas of the Forest as well as Monmouth and Ross.

Artist room needs early warning about height of bathroom door frame

Impressive building with lots of interesting history. I enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner in the Great hall. Upgraded from the standard room to one with a balcony which was a good move as the upgraded room in the West Wing was fairly small .Clean , with a comfortable bed and great shower. Parking on site and in a good position to explore the attractions of the area.

I enjoyed the stay and have no major dislikes however the public bar was usually busy so it was difficult to find spaces to sit with a drink after eating and we found ourselves having to go back to the small room . This is why we were so grateful for the balcony! There is a lovely garden if it’s decent weather and a tiny sitting room, but this too was always very busy.

Location was great, I was on a serious R&R retreat, the room was compact but was ok as I was travelling alone, not sure I’d want a companion in the room I was allocated. I booked room only and breakfast was an extra cost of £15.00 but there was a limited cold selection and I ordered the full English, while it looked small 1sausage, 1 bacon 3 mushrooms, half tomatoe and a slice of black pudding the quality was excellent and there was also a toasting machine with both white and brown bread on offer.

I was in the room above the entrance which was ok, but I’m glad I was travelling alone. There was some very high boxing in that ran half way along the wall at the end of the bed, which was very narrow to the wall. Wallpaper was lifting in some areas in the bedroom. Grouting in En suite was grubby in shower cubicle ( a little bleach would solve this) and missing in some places!
