The included breakfast was amazing, no one could want for more everything was available from local Greek product to cooked breakfast, fresh fruit, cereal, pastries and so much more. The staff were amazing they could not do enough for you and always made sure you had the best experience. The room was comfortable. Pool was very big with plenty of sunlounges available. Also had the option to go across the road to the beach sun lounges. Hotel was about 20 minute walk away from the main drag of Kalamata. Bus available every 15 minutes if required. Plenty of free parking if you have a car.

No ironing board in the room and the lighting in the room was a bit dim.

Did property feels Cosy, rooms are spacious and large. We were there in March and everything was still quiet and prepping for the busy season. Petros from the front desk went above and beyond to help us with a medical issue we had during holidays, he was amazing!!

The service could have been a bit more attentative, at breakfast often cups or glasses were missing at the buffet. Another small but somehow strange part is that only one coffee per person in included in the breakfast, a second cup is additionally charged.

This hotel ( we had family suite for 4 persons) is very spacious, comfy- we had like 3 wardrobes in our room, two bathrooms, small and large terrace… beds are large enough, this is important for us as we are very tall family…. By the way no need for private pool as the hotel pool was never crowded. The breakfast was very good. We crossed the street and were on the beach with umbrellas and beach service- lunch, drinks.. etc. There are old bikes for use for free, which we used everyday. The garden is simply beautiful and I recommend a massage! The beach is pebbly. we went to port every day for a walk or bike. Restaurants: Had great dinners in Da Luz or Secada if you like steaks and seafood, for greek kitchen go to Nautilus but avoid Aura! Local Beach volleyball club is like 100 m left on the beach and is really cool we were sorry we found so late, they charge 7/ pers/hour.

Nothing, all was fine, just the detail- the terrace is really huge and could be provided with some furniture- sofa, sunbeds…

Our room was very comfortable and having our own pool was great. We used it in the afternoon once the sun went off the verandah, it was also shaded from the afternoon wind. The hotel is in a perfect location, lots of restaurants very close, the beach was across the road and the hotel provided sun beds at no cost. The hotel had an amazing pool it was very large, lots of sunbeds available and a pool bar all day. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Our only complaint was that the hotel didnt change its menu from lunch to dinner, we felt it missed out by not offering dinner choices in the evening.

The room was very comfortable and well appointed with loungers on the terrace overlooking the pool and sea. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The free use of bicycles is a nice touch. The spa treatments were fantastic.

The lack of privacy on the room terrace - there is no full screen between terraces, so when I was sunbathing, the person in the next room came out to look at the view and they had a full view of me sitting there - and it worked both ways too. It also means it is very noisy. The indoor pool isn't heated which seems like such a waste as no-one uses it because it is so cold. You have to book to use the sauna and hammam in advance, and also pay for it, which seems unnecessary - it would be much easier if they were on all day so guests can use them whenever they want to.

Dark wooden furniture and wooden frames on the wall, gives a dark atmosphere to the room and does not help with the lighting especially on a dark day. The floor is quite slippery. The hair dryer needs replacement because it is weak. The first night we had quite loud music from the neighboring restaurant, probably some sort of wedding party gathering.

The breakfast is not good enough. Limited selection but worse than the quality was average. muffins and cakes were very poor and very dry and almost not eatable. Other than that - stay was good

Our private pool was absolutely worth it and a great size - this was the number 1 thing about our stay. Of course, the location is stunning. The room was huge and housekeeping was of an excellent standard. This made up for any shortfalls in service. Parking is more than ample and it is very easy to arrive by car. The walk along the seafront into Kalamata is lovely and the hotel has practically direct beach access.

This is a once-5-star hotel living off its legacy, not a 5-star hotel by today's standards. Service was consistently poor at breakfast and the pool bar due to overworked/badly trained staff. There was an issue at every meal, such as items missing or incredibly long waits. Our expectations would have been different if it had been rated differently. Breakfast was chaotic, except the last morning where we went very early and were offered coffees, which didn't happen on any other morning. The bathroom in the room is showing its age, especially the shower cubicle, and the hot water didn't last very long. Only 4 hangers in the wardrobe is insufficient, and there were multiple lights not working in the bedroom.

The entire experience was excellent. All staff, from front desk to wait staff were friendly and professional. The food was delicious, and all amenities were five star. The grounds were gorgeous and well maintained-the views were spectacular! Any needs/questions were dealt with promptly and with a smile. We highly recommend Horizon Blu and plan on staying there for subsequent visits. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
