It was our second time at this property and it is a superb option for a stay on Hydra, It is a perfect location within a 5 minute walk of the Athens ferry. The property is a beautiful and quirky building decorated with local artefacts and it is exceptionally clean. Each room is individually laid out and designed due to the historic nature of the building which adds real character. It should be noted that there isn't a lift to cover the three floors. Every morning a fantastic breakfast is served in the courtyard which includes Greek specialities that change daily. Best of all Jenny and her staff are excellent. During our stay there was a problem with the ferries which Jenny resolved on our behalf much to our relief. A fantastic choice for Hydra!

On arrival we were welcomed by Nicholas who was extremely friendly and helpful. A great start to our stay. We were on the first floor and the room was a good size, the bed comfy, good wardrobe space, good air con, nice to have windows to open and let the sun in (even through the massive heat wave). The bathroom itself was small but did the job for our 5 night stay. The shower was a bit of a let down - very tight squeeze to get in and shut the doors (and we are average build). If we moved without thinking about this small space, we accidentally nudged the tap off or to the hot or cold side. Had to be super careful in that respect. The free breakfast was out of this world amazing, tasty, different every day, home cooked/made, abundant (got us through to the afternoon!). We looked forward to it every morning and ate 90 to 100% of it. Jenni was an amazing hostess who presented us with this breakfast daily and she tolerated my “5 to 6 cup coffee” husband with delightful dry humour! She always had a funny comment to make. Loved her! One of the house maids was super friendly and greeted us every time we saw her - sorry I didn’t get her name! Unlucky for us it was a heat wave the whole 5 days there so going back and forth from the city centre was quite the trek for this unfit oldish woman, but I achieved it 4 or 5 times a day, albeit puffed on arrival. On a cooler day it would be very pleasant. A thousand thank you’s Jenni, Nicholas and friendly housemaid - you made our stay in Hydra magical. We highly recommend your place and wish you many years of success in your chosen business. You are a credit to the island! Liz and Mark from New Zealand.

Not that it could be changed in this beautiful building, but maybe a square shower cubicle to give it more space inside, or put taps higher - no complaint, just saying.

Beautiful original building, renovated to provide all the luxuries of the perfectly clean and comfortable hotel style with the right amount of original features. Crisp clean towels & linen with their own olive oil toiletries in the room. The breakfast was exceptional, freshly home prepared Greek style breakfast with all their own ingredients & speciality of a passionate cook. A very calming atmosphere from the moment you enter the exceptionally beautiful garden and throughout the hotel. All the staff were so friendly & showed passion & care for every guest. It really felt like a family business.

A balcony to sit outside the room would have been lovely. But the court yard garden made up for this. The building was renovated and kept as many original features which explains why a balcony was not possible. A coffee machine in the reception would be have been fantastic. Although they do provide cool drinks to purchase in the garden & unlimited coffee for breakfast.

This has been our second stay at Mistral. We have loved being very warmly welcomed back and plan to return again next year. The staff are all absolutely lovely, and communication prior to booking was seemless. The breakfast is delicious, home cooked and different each day. It's a lovely and quiet location with a shaded courtyard and beautiful roof top terrace that has views to the sea and the mountains - very close to port (about a 5 min walk). Our room was spacious and clean and the beds are super comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay. A lovely hotel, in a nice and peaceful location but close to all the action. We felt very welcomed during our stay and whilst the room was fairly basic it had everything you need - clean and a good size. The large and varied breakfast was fantastic. We would happily return to this hotel. It's incredibly good value.

The Mistral Hotel is truly a special place on the beautiful island of Hydra. Jenny, Theo, and Nikos are such a lovely family that have made their hotel into a beautiful oasis of comfort and hospitality. The garden terrace where the most delicious breakfasts are served is full of beautiful flowers and plants and is a great space to relax. The hotel is conveniently located a short walk to the port and many great restaurants and shops. We had the most amazing time and would highly recommend this beautiful hotel to other travellers.

Everything was fantastic.

The hotel is located in a very scenic part of the island (Not that the Island is short of such locations). Breakfast always had several options available, and check-in with Nikos was easy. You could reach anywhere signifiant on the island without having to walk far, and the hospitality and the weather were exceptional. Jenny was particularly helpful about finding me another room when I had to stay an extra night due to my flight being postponed. Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing.

The room was incredibly spacious, clean and charming. The property is beautiful, peaceful, calm and serene. The breakfast is show-stopping, everything is made in house including the particularly delicious sweet treats (shout out to the best rice pudding I have ever had). The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The location is stunning, a 2min walk away from a gorgeous restaurant (which was Leonard Cohen’s haven when he lived in Hydra!), and about a 5min walk from the front.

I genuinely cannot think of anything. I will absolutely be coming back.

Mistral hotel sita in a quiet street a few steps away from the lively atmosphere of restaurants, cafes and boutiques. Breakfast is served in a beautiful plant garden and it provides homemade delicacies which make starting the day easy and relaxing. The room was spacious, with a perfect view and extremely clean. I would definitely recommend Mistral as the ideal destination for a lovely time in beautiful Hydra.
