We were very disappointed to find the pool under renovation and by the time we were told about this we couldn't rebook anywhere else as we were a group. We complained a little and the staff then surpassed themselves giving us a lovely family room and free breakfast ❤️ The lady on the front desk I think called Melenia was incredible, she was kind and helpful, always smiling and sorted out some trips for us that were great. We did rappelling/canyoning with Angel and his team and zip wires, both well worth it x the bar man who's name I forget pours a great cocktail as well 😍 Food was great but I was limited as a gluten free veggie 🤷 Overall a great stay, I can imagine with the pool all done it will be even better. Our friends stayed in the hobbit houses and loved it x

I stayed for 2 nights in Tower Room and one night in a Hobbit House. Really enjoyed the experience of staying in unique accommodation and views from the castle were amazing. Accommodation was clean, cosy and lovely to sit outside Hobbit Homes and enjoy peace and quiet. Staff were all friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. Melanie and Yary on reception offered great customer service and were extremely patient in explaining queries with bills and deposit charges that many hotels add to invoices but remove following departure. Their enthusiasm to assist and friendly disposition were much appreciated at a time when renovations were undergoing with noise and much disruption within certain areas of the hotel. Well done girls. You are a great asset to the hotel team.

Unfortunately renovations being carried out to improve hotel facilities meant pool, jacuzzi and kitchen were all closed at this time. Workmen came in early and there was a lot of noise in certain areas. Bar and restaurant remained open and food was good. No doubt when restoration project completed visitors will be keen to visit as location was a plus.

What a cool spot! All staff were friendly and helpful (and a special shout out to Javier at the restaurant who provided some good recommendations and great conversation). Super unique hostel, to be able to stay in a castle (or any of the outdoor hobbit homes), and has some beautiful views. The place was really quiet (fair, being off-season), but I could see the place being super social with more people around. The downstairs indoor pool and bar area, upstairs movie room, and big dining areas are all a nice treat!

I had no issues as the $4 shuttle was easy to arrange (otherwise easy to grab a taxi), but note that the property is about an hour walk to the downtown core area. I had an issue trying to find a taxi operating early enough to bring me to the bus stop after the one I had arranged didn't show up, just something to keep in mind when booking onwards travel.

Super friendly people and realy nice location to relax a bit. They have a restaurant wich is not super expensive and serve breakfast. The showers & toilets were always clean. The bed were super comfy and they had real blankets! It is a bit outside, but this was nice to relax. To the most hiking spots you have to take a shuttle anyway because they are outside of town. The next supermarket is 20min to walk. The shuttle to town is 4-5$ per way (for 2 people 2$ each then).

the room had a bit a weird smell and on some parts of the ceiling there are spots wich seam like mold. They are renovating a lot, i hope they will renovate the rooms too soon.

It’s very unique in its setting and design with multiple themes. Hobbit and Castle. Plus they continue to expand and improve the premises.

Need minor maintenance. Our shower hot water leaked and couldn’t be shut completely. This also caused the floor to get damp from splatter if the curtain was not closed completely. The humidity was high upon entry and the linens absorbed this giving us a chili night. Once the humidifier was activated this problem was reduced. A small spacer heater would’ve been nice to have. Staff is friendly but they need to be more explicit on the details for any added amenities. The inclusion of breakfast was confusing as to what is offered. Part of the menu all of the menu just a single selection. We couldn’t understand and had to pay extra. This is not a one night stay if you want to to take a tour or two. Or it’s the rainy season.

The view is stunning, the staff are adorable and kind and helpful. Just very sweet people. The room was more like a cabin which was spacious, well equipped, quiet and comfortable. The pool was cool but usable, the Jacuzzi was great after a full day of activities and walking. The restaurant/bar was clean, the food and drink was just fine. The coffee was amazing. The grounds are pleasant and easy to walk.

We love to walk, so we walked the 2.4 miles each way to town every day, even though the trip back gains several hundred feet in elevation. Perhaps they could offer a twice a day shuttle to Boquete.

We stayed in the hobbit house and it was so cute with a lovely view and the privacy of a little porch. The room and bathroom were bigger than I expected. It was so so cute! The restaurant had great views and a lovely breeze. The staff was amazing! The front desk reception helped us many times and they helped with a smile! The rooms were cleaned everyday and we were given fresh towels which was so nice! There was laundry service which saved my life! I would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

The only thing I wish is that the hobbit house had air conditioning or a bigger/stronger fan. I think most people would be fine, I just happen to run hot ;-)

In general I liked it. Quiet with a nice view although they had some construction going on it was ok for us as the hours of works were non disturbing.It is a cosy place , remote location from the Boquete town but easy to order a taxi ( sometimes they charge for a ride 4$ sometimes 6$.I think it is a walking distance to town as well. It is nice to have a breakfast at the balcony with a view. The triple room was basic ( but this is what I expected) but with comfy beds. Few things needs maintenance in a bathroom- robinet , leaking toilet flush. Overall It was a good choice for us for 3 days to explore Boquete surroundings. I like also the common kitchen located at the swimming pool level. I am addicted to evening herbal tea, so I could prepare it myself. Also a plus when you travel with kids, it is convenient to prepare sth. outside of restaurant hours.

Noisy people in adjacent room as the walls are not sound proof enough

The views are absolutely beautiful and the swimming pool and jacuzzi area was lovely. My dorm room had a double bed in it that I managed to get, and it was so quiet and comfy. Perfect for travellers who want to relax and have peace. You can walk 35 mins to town or pay about five dollars for a taxi - it's not an issue at all! My transfer and tours stopped at the hostel anyway.

Wifi doesn't work very well in the dorm room

Bambuda castle is lovely! Some of my favorite features were the views, the kitchen, the people I met staying in the dorm, the luxorious dorm bathroom, my comfy bunk, and the highly enjoyable pool and hot tube. I also appreciated the affordable menu and drink prices.

You have to pay extra for towels. Also, the water in my shower in my dorm bathroom wasn’t hot. But, the hot tub is very hot! So if you shower after the hot tub, it’s okay.
